We had a room on the top floor. The beds and linen were clean and pretty comfortable. It was very hot and humid and the fan they gave us was weaker than using a newspaper. And there was a big cockroach on the shower curtain which ended my shower pretty abruptly.

Clean and tidy....staff very friendly...slept well will book again

Friendly gent on reception. Tidy complex. Fabulous shower; great water pressure with instant hot water. Spacious rooms. Stove and microwave a little rusty but functional. Strands of long black hair on bed linen. Stains on quilt. Quiet neighbourhood. We got a peaceful sleep.

Love coming here but more importantly, so does our dog. We are always made to feel most welcome and we won't stay anywhere else Our dog is an integral part of our family and where we go, she goes. Lovely to have a place that recognises all family members.

Friendly host/owners. Make one feel super welcome. The room was nice, for the good price. Bed firm and comfy, lovely kitchen. Fridge set a little too low, so things were a bit frosty. Lol. But nothing that can't be changed. Looooooved the shower... Great pressure. Little dairy just a cross from motel, so convenient if you need something. Thanks for a good stay.

Good value motel. We found a babies nappy under the bed that must have been there for 3-4 months which tells you the cleaning isn't that thorough, and I thought the mattresses left something to be desired as far as comfort goes, but the manager was quite nice and everything else was ok.

Would give a 5 star if chairs around table were cleaned plus someone's left over chips in top drawer. Apart from these place is tidy and clean. Very hospitable owner.

Great animal friendly place to stay

We really appreciated the location, the room was cleaned every day with new towels, and it became our little haven. Able to cook breakfast, have a nice hot shower, and a good sleep. Good price point.

Motels have become pretty expensive, but $120 is still quite a bit of money. The motel seems to run its own Covid-19 health policy, as at sign-in it asks if you have cared for someone with Covid-19 in the last 14 days, and then you're not welcome. Perhaps let the Ministry of Health run our policy? The room is plain, but clean. The walls covered with signs you are not allowed to do, or should do. The mattress, the most important thing in a motel for sure is years past its use date, or some cheap knock-off of a spring mattress. As I had just come back from a tramping trip I was tempted to blow up my tramping mattress and put that on top. The only redeeming feature is the spa, why I gave it three stars in the end instead of two.

So thankful there was a last minute booking space for us !When searching on google we were a bit weary about the rating but we were blown away. Communication was amazing through out our stay and very helpful ,the room was lovely clean,warm and well equipped.We checked in late and even manage to get a quick relaxing spa in .Would definitely recommend 😊

It is a wonderful motel not too big and pet friendly also very nice owners very welcoming a bbq area for families and smokers are welcome outside smoking as per the law nice and clean in the most part

Nice clean room. Lovely man in reception. Butchers and superette across the road. Handy to banks street, which is where Jimmy jacks is.

Very adequate. On the main road, easy to find. Near a dairy. Supermarket 2mins away. We had a fan which helped with the beautiful Northland weather! Great shower. Well equipped kitchenette

Highly recommend this Motel, although we only stayed one night in 2 rooms we were greeted by the Manager Robbie with a huge smile and great service. The rooms were very clean and we left them how we found them. Thank you Burgundy Rose Motel.

Location is good and easily accessible. It was clean and comfortable, and owner is also friendly. Wash basin didn't have a hot / cold water mixer, other than that my stay was comfortable.

Very welcoming proprieter and having travelled 5 hours to reach destination, the arrival/check in process was much appreciated. The unit was clean and tidy but could do with a lick of paint. Very well priced.

Excellent motel. The floors were exceptionally clean and kitchen large. Very good value for money at $120 per night for 2 people. Unfortunately it is situated right next to the train lines and main road. Also have a spa and sky tv.

Wonderful little place rooms very clean. Bright and cherry place close to town, host was friendly and helpful. And this place is doggy friendly which was awesome. Would recommend this place to everyone and will be staying again

Great motel - clean and well appointed rooms with very friendly and helpful staff. Best thing about it was we could have our dog with us!

Don't go near the spa. The motel is fine. Can hear traffic noise from the rooms.

Bed not comfy, neighbours loud after 10 when we were told to keep quiet. No seating for smokers. Shower pressure great though

Not a bad motel. Really friendly people, nice rooms and not far from town. WiFi is pretty average doesn't even work in the room, have to stand outside near office.

Friendly staff and comfortable rooms, but could be cleaner, with cob webs and spiders in corners. Also not a fan of the bathroom.

Great place to stay, you can actually cook a feed in the unit and fill the Jug direct from the tap.
