Excellent scenic location. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
The food was also great.
The rooms were spacious and clean with great views of the lake.
There is a also a discount offered to use the water taxi to go into town from outside the hotel which was brilliant.
The only thing I thought needed improvement is I had attempted to call the hotel before we arrived and also during our stay and could not get through to reception. Having said that I used the messaging service on the app and I received a quick response.
Thank you for a great overall experience!

Best work view I had this year. You got to have the waffles at breakfast.
Fantastic hotel, we had a great stay. The water taxi to town means you don’t even need to rent a car when you stay here.
I would personally recommend the Wakatipu Suites, they are exceptional.
The spa and pool is are inside the hotel, so no problems with letting the kids play in the pool for hours.
And the waffles.. I’m planning my next trip already, mostly for the waffles.

Located at Frankton, just a short drive from Queenstown centre the hotel has some nice views of lake Wakatipu. The whole place could do with some TLC and is a little worn around the edges. The staff are very friendly and helpful, but the rooms looked like they needed a good vacuum and clean. We enjoyed the hotel facilities, the pool, hot tub and outdoor seating with views of the lake. We didn't eat in the restaurant as the menu looked over priced and limited in choice. Also, be warned, parking is $16 per night and you should request a multi entry ticket so you can come and go. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but a few things let the place down, such a shame.

Loved the accommodation but had difficulty getting a disability car park as they were all taken for the week we were there. Great deals offered being breakfast, highly recommended, and daily service if not required. That was great. Stopped in for dinner once and our steak was out of this world. Our waitress was devine, Argentinian, who had a sweet sense of humour, what a delight, and she spoke to us every day like she knew us. Most restaurant staff were really good, especially breakfast. The new comers may have been thrown in the deep end too soon. I'm still waiting for my pot of tea! We managed but parking was difficult being so far away and disabled was very much a problem. Front desk staff were lovely. We'll be back and we'll recommend. Loved the Crusaders being there too, light entertainment the cheeky things lol.

Feedback: Hilton Resort & Spa, Queenstown.
Stay: 13 - 18 January 2022.
Rating: 6 / 10.
To whom it may concern.
The Hilton chain of hotels has a 5-star reputation to maintain. Unfortunately, during our stay in January 2020 (4 nights) we felt it was more a 3-4 star operation.
The location is idyllic, with access to lake Wakatipu, walking track(s) and the water taxi; thereby making it appealing to escape the hustle and bustle of the central city.
We have noted that the following improvements could be considered, to raise the overall reputation of this particular hotel:
We stayed in a ‘guest king room’. The room suffered from the following issues:
All the furniture is extremely dusty and unfortunately housekeeping did not keep up with the adequate cleaning. We would expect the room to be vacuumed daily, couches vacuumed, benchtops wiped down. Further to this we are currently in a global pandemic, and we felt the bathrooms etc. were not sanitized. Towels, bathrobes are old and require replacement. The bathrobes were terrible actually!
Carpets are stained, and require steam cleaning.
Windows require external cleaning.
Tea / coffee was not topped up daily.
We had to ask 2-3 times for towels to be delivered.
We asked for extra blankets, these were stained, aged and felt like cardboard.
Parking needs to be free to guests, we shouldn’t have to pay $16 per day.
The pool area is not exclusive and we feel it is not regularly cleaned. It is used by multiple people from a variety of residences. Regardless of this, the pool and spa were ‘murky’ and has not been adequately cleaned. The sauna has a busted control panel, that any kid to pull off the wall… and it didn’t function (so I ended up having a hot shower). I had to inform reception that ALL of the amenities in the pool bathroom were empty at one stage.
“Nothing is clean” was a quote from my wife during our stay. There are SOME hard-working staff on the team and these folks are doing their best, however there is a need to re-invest in the premises (let’s just start with the rooms!, make our stay pleasant), AND we got to keep up with the hygiene standards folks.
I hope that the owner reads this review, and the multiple other reviews on tripadvisor / google that attest to similar issues.

Out of limited experience of hotels, motels and hostels the Hilton was great. The staff is friendly, accommodating, approachable and the service was excellent in comparison to the other place I've stayed at. Would recommend it and will gladly stay there again.
However my only feedback is not a complaint just and observation to improve. The interior of the building I stayed at could do with an update as the carpet is lifting and the wallpaper is showing signs of pealing off, the doors are sometimes difficult to close properly and all the furniture in the rooms if not most are a bit wobbly.
I would still recommend it as it still is the best place that I've stayed at in New Zealand so far.
S.
We stayed here for 7 nights and the staff were very welcoming and helpful, particularly Amber and Esther at the Whakatipu Grill. They never failed to greet us each morning which shows their high skills in customer service and hospitality being top notch. Improvements that could happen is, to upgrade the old tv's and dryer. Having more free parking facilities would be great as well. Overall, we had a wonderful stay with a beautiful lakeview from our balcony.
k.
Staffs were very friendly and caring especially Fatima and the Asian man at the Reception were very kind and friendly... felt like home away from home... we visited Queenstown for our 1st Wedding Anniversary and Valentines Day on the same day and it was absolutely wonderful, awesome, fantastic
...
R.
We stayed at Hilton ZQN Resort and Spa for 4 days. The reservation and was disorganized but the stay was lovely. As a consolation, i was issued free parking for the duration of our stay. Close to the lake and an ambient atmosphere, had made our stay so relaxing and worry free.
M.
Hotel is fantastic, gorgeous rooms well kept and an awesome relaxing massage/treatment at Eforea spa. The Wakatipu grill attached was a bit under performing in service but food was top notch, service may just be covid short staffing issues or overwhelmed by customers during holiday break. Eg would get entree and mains within 45mins but then wines still hadn't arrived. Chefs could be heard shouting 'service' to wait staff over and over. Also lack of communication from wait staff, didn't specify closing times to us at any point during meal, took away mains and didn't offer dessert (before closing) and then only later when we asked as they were bussing tables did they bring us dessert menu and state kitchen was closed. They did try and accommodate and get us dessert despite this. However then the coffee machine was unavailable. The Wakatipu grill seems to service room service at the Hilton which has a drinks list going till 2am that includes hot drinks including coffee, so strange that this was unavailable. But again maybe they were short a barista for the evening due to staff shortages. Overall they tried to be helpful and just seemed a bit under staffed. Happy to try again in the future
K.
Female steam room & sauna was lovely!
I enjoyed my massage at the spa and the $5 water taxi to the city was the bonus.
Self service breakfast with a lake view every morning. 🥰
A.
The $5 water taxi to Queenstown city was a bonus! Breakfast self service with a lake view was blissful. 😊 I enjoyed my deep tissue massage at the spa.
I would definitely reccommend.
h.
room was superb! very clean. breakfast was good but a tad busy so nice to be able to sit outside. parking is an issue and $16 a day.
D.
Was a great special that made me choose to stay there. Really nice hotel. They should consider better pricing during this pandemic to entice more Kiwis to stay.
K.
First time we decided on staying away from town centre and it was such a bliss! The hotel staff were warm and welcoming, the room was spacious and clean with a huge balcony and stunning view. The Wakatipu Bar downstairs is the perfect place to spend the whole day from breakfast to dinner! I’ll definitely stay here again x
K.
Lovely location and great staff - that's all the postives. Rooms and external area need a serious revamp. Ripped carpet, stains on furniture, bugs on ceiling, broken rainpipes, threadbare towels and robes - it definitely needs some serious money invested. The cleaning wasn't great either - cooktop and drier were dirty and there was food in the waste disposal. Hardly what I would expect from a resort. Impossible to call hotel direct - you get the international switchboard which is a big pain. The staff were the saving grace.
S.
Nice decor, entrance a bit congested due to a conference. Drains in bathroom a bit smelly otherwise good. Rooms nice layout and very comfortable beds. Water taxi to Queenstown a must!
H.
Since COVID hit and my local coffee shop in Auckland shut down to the public due to MIQ, I wasn't able to find coffee as good as the one I would buy, pre-2020. However, I was in Queenstown a couple of weeks ago and stayed at the Hilton. Great views, comfortable stay and amazing service!
On day 1 of arrival, I grabbed a coffee and it was insanely goood!! The best Chai Latte I've had a in a very very long time. I'd be interested to know what you use because it's either the powder or the barrister needs a pay bump!
x.
Great service. Great food. Beautiful view. The restaurant is the best one we tried in queenstown. The room service is quick and nice. The food are highly recommended. Specifically the ciabatta is so great! And the sourdough is really beautiful made!
K.
Casey on the front desk made my check in an amazing experience. And the bed was decent to sleep on. Thats the only positives i can point out.
Hot tubs are small. Look bigger online in photos. Not very private with the bushes. People jogging past can still kinda see you.
Layout of the premise needs to be made easier to get around. Confusing with the parking and having both hilton and DoubleTree. Maps are basic and have no clear direction.
Hilton you have potential. But you need to step your game up. Would prefer staying over at oaks. Hot tubs are way bigger and actually private. And layout is clear cut. No chance of getting turned around or lost.
R.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was well appointed with all the necessary amenities, comfy bed. fFrniture and bathroom fittings felt a tad too old and needs a refresh. Overall, enjoyed the stay.
C.
Loved this hotel. Very clean, comfortable and has nice bed sheets 🙂. Staff are so lovely and accommodating too. Will definitely be staying at other Hilton branches in the future. Water taxis are also a bonus
S.
Beautiful 5 star hotel by Lake Wakatipu. Service was excellent. We stayed there on Christmas and Boxing day. We had booked a premium room with balcony overlooking the lake. Whakaripu grill restaurant was very busy, but we had a lovely dinner. We will definitely recommend to everyone.
N.
Amazing stay, Prem singh the duty manager looked out for us when we had a small issue, he rectified the problem
Instantly and made sure our stay was a pleasant one. Prem is a key employee for the company to make sure visitors like us always keep coming back. This was my 3rd time back and I can confirm this was the best stay ever. The staff were all welcoming.
Thank you Prem, wish you a happy new year and all the best for the year
R.
Nothing wrong with the Hotel itself. However, there isn’t much around it. If you want to go into Queenstown it’s at least a $30 Uber to town. So factor in another $60 per day if you are going into Queenstown.
C.
Room is nice and very comfy. . Breakfast choices are not really that great as they kept repeating the same menu choices everyday. It would be great of they have added a different meal every other day. . Overall our stay is 4stars
B. L. M.
We stayed at the Lakeside Residence area. Our main highlight was that incredible lake balcony view.
The room service menu was OK. I had the Fish n' chips – the fish was crispy and well-seasoned.
There were a few negatives, however. The cracked ceilings and bathroom doors, and stained walls in our hotel room were all so noticeable.
The furniture looked old. The dining chairs were very wobbly.
The one massive issue we had during our stay here was the washing machine. The lousy washer damaged and stained all of our clothes.
We were infuriated. Front-of-house staff couldn't do anything to fix the problem.
Where's the charm of a place like Hilton? Hardly any here. Maybe just that view of the lake. A 5-star hotel? We're thinking otherwise.
G.
Absolutely marvellous stay. We checked in late and were greated by a lovely gentlemen who really took care of us considering it was the middle of the night! Lovely clean rooms, super friendly and helpful staff and excellent facilities. We will 100% be back!
P.
Great location, clean and luxury hotel & spacious rooms.
Only disappointment was the breakfast and lack of service on the porter/conceirge desk but everything else was great!
S.
The Hilton queenstown is the perfect choice for a relaxed stay in Queenstown. I sadly only stayed a night and it was perfect due to the closeness to the airport. The hotel itself is modern and extremely clean and went along with every COVID regulation needed. The rooms are comfortable and modern, the bath was very big with an amazing bathtub (definitely give that a go!). The bed was one of the most comfortable ones I had ever slept in! The pool was great, sadly the sauna was closed due to COVID regulations. Both breakfast and in-room dinner were fantastic and quick. The overall service was excellent. A big thank you to (I think his name was) Jose from Brasil, who was incredibly kind and made the check in and out process a wonderful little experience. I will defines be coming back.
S.
The Hilton Queenstown Resort and Spa was an awesome place to stay. Warm, welcoming staff and a fabulous suite with gorgeous views. We will definitely be back in the future.
A.
We stayed at the King Hilton Guest Room and opted for the staycation option. Can't fault the experience at all. A very comfortable room with a lush bed, spacious bath, all the facilities such as sauna, spa, pool and gym. The breakfast buffet was a highlight - the best breakfast buffet I have ever eaten! Spending the afternoons outside at the Wakatipu Grill overlooking the lake and drinking cocktails was wonderful (highly recommend the pina colada). Can't wait to come back! Worth noting that there is very little free parking but we would recommend getting a parking pass for the underground parking. The carpark for the Hilton is actually below the Doubletree hotel so it is a short walk to the Hilton from there.
P.
As much as I loved my stay and service, the sad fact is how the quality of a 5star hotel has diminished over the years. Basic amenities like toothbrush, slippers, cotton buds are not provided for the deluxe lake view rooms. If in the suite, slippers and a bigger bottle of lotion is provided however no matter what room you book, towels and bathrobes are frayed, thin and sadly old. Even as a vegan I always look forward to breakfast at hotels, the chefs are ready to look after you with Diff options. Unfortunately here there was the same basic baked beans and mushrooms option available everyday, chef not very skilled even for requested vegan options. Had the staff not been so trained and lovely, would definitely have cancelled my long booking.
J.
I wouldn't go past the Hilton in the future. Best nights sleep in a long time.
Check in was fast and the staff were friendly. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to come to Queenstown to holiday or work.
N.
Best place to stay in Queenstown, where you are only a stone throw away from the lake (literally), beautiful property, very friendly staff and very serene experience.
And if you want to catch on all the action in town jump the water taxi and in no time you are in the middle of bustling town center.
Highly recommended
C. B.
Reception was very polite as we came in and was informative. Room was nice, good view and relatively quiet. Grounds were well kept & food/staff at both restaurants was exceptional. Only let down was that for 3 nights our room was never serviced nor did we get new towels etc. when we called reception to advise we were told someone could come up at 5pm which was when we had returned before going out for dinner!
T.
The best hotel I’ve stayed in. I booked Hilton Doubletree through Expedia. When I arrived, I was informed that I got upgraded to Hilton Resort and Spa.
Though I stayed only one night, but the upgrade was a very great surprise. The room was very spacious, staff were very friendly and everything were just top notch. The staff even put my stored baggage into my room before I got my room key which was a very nice touch.
I arrived at the hotel and check in at around 9:30am then at 10:30-11:00am receiving a text saying my room was ready. The check out time were also very generous. The staff extended my check out time from 12:00 to 1:00pm. I would certainly come back again soon! Thanks Hilton Queenstown!
E.
Expected to be "wowed" from the amazing hilton experience. Was pretty average for the price we paid. Breakfast at their in house restaurant sucked $64 for 2 people bouncy re heated bacon. Great views tho!
G.
Please is very nice to stay is what you wpuld expect. AMBER the waitress was awesome she shpuld gwt a staff award. Id go good water taxi to queenstown. Family friendly.
D.
Felt there were a few issues with the room which you would expect with a $500 p/night room. Fridge didn't not work properly. Underfloor turned off in bathroom and told by reception that it was turned off throughout the hotel for "safety reasons". All restaurants and bars in hotel closed due to covid (L2 , thought one of 2 should be open. Otherwise the staff were great.
Dave
Y.
Due to Covid 19 Level 2 restrictions, the spa and steam room are closed. Buffet breakfast is closed and you are served at the table instead.
Other than this, the hotel remains an excellent place to go for a short break. Lucky that we can still done this in today's world.
R.
An excellent short stay let down by a few minor details in maintenance and cleaning. Very good breakfast buffet, comfortable bed and high quality service by friendly staff.
D.
Absolutely first class in all aspects of customer service...asked a few quesyions staff extremely helpful courteous manner in assisting us.
Recoomend to all travellers a lovely comfortable resort
B.
Loved this hotel, great location, beautiful rooms, friendly staff and nice buffet breakfast. Highly recommend
K.
This place is fantastic.
Its our 3rd visit and we have booked again to return.
Easy to catch the water Taxi to town.
Beautiful surroundings
Excellent staff
A++++++
L.
100% thoroughly recommend staying at the Hilton. The staff, the rooms, the whole complex were just amazing. Looking forward to our next trip!
Y.
Beautiful hotel. The room was beautiful and our King bed super comfortable. Loved the big double bath. The buffet breakfast is to die for. Staff so friendly and helpful. Will definately go back.
9/8 Went back to the Hilton and wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
M.
5 star! This spa resort is luxurious and beautiful with the most georgeous wikatipu lake view! The restaurant is devine! The staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel like a star!
T.
Very pleasant place to stay, however car parking was a bit further than expected and pools were busy most of the time. Spa sessions need to be pre booked. Overall would recommend it !
C. R.
Had the most AMAZING stay at the Hilton Queenstown. Beautiful location and lovely rooms. My husband and I stayed in the relaxation room with our own private spa on the deck and stunning lake views the fire place in the room is a lovely touch too. The rooms are so well appointed. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning back to this spot again! Can’t wait to be back. The water taxi is great drops you right into the main part of Queenstown and is $5 each way per person if you’re staying at the Hilton. Would highly recommend the buffet breakfast too. Thanks Hilton Queenstown for looking after us we had an amazing stay.
V.
Great place to stay! Beautiful, stunning views. Staff were friendly and awesome. Buffet breakfast was on point! 👌
S.
Great location with everything you need at your doorstep. QTown is a nice scenic water taxi away and the peaceful surrounds of the resort make for an extremely relaxing stay. Highly recommend Stacks Pub for dinner and cosy drinks by the fire. Food was fantastic too. We will be back
R.
Beautiful Hotel, Every staff member is very polite and helpful.
Great Experience.
K.
Awesome customer service, Awesome breakfast. Beautiful views. Location AAA+++. Pools,Spa, Gym and much more
T.
Nice place. Our 2 bedroom was apparently okay for 5 but not ideal for a family of 5 with teenagers.
L.
Stayed here for part of our honeymoon in 2016, they let us extend our stay with zero issues and were so genuinely kind. 5 years later and it is still the best hotel I've ever been to.
W.
Quiet and Sophisticated, I recommend this to anyone who likes to relax after a big day of activities.
Convenient water taxi, with guest discounted rates and also some amazing on site restraunts.
H.
One of the most amazing Hotels in QT, what a location and what a view… city centre accessible through a very subsidised ferry rental for hotel guests( time table attached), each of these rides what an amazing treat for eyes!
Great breakfast and bar at the hotel!
Room and amenities very well maintained and tidy as they should be. Beautiful lobby and
Helpful staff.
N.
From the time we checked in until we checked out we couldn't fault.
Most place you stay you get one or two standout staff members, however here each one was excellent. Even the trainee on reception was confident and pleasant for someone new.
Accommodation standard was excellent with good views.
Although we didn't eat in the restaurant we had room service, which was delicious.
We wouldn't hesitate to return in the future
Ps although the hotel is out of Central Queenstown, it is serviced by water taxi. The water taxi ended up being the better option than taking the rental into town and finding a park.
So even if you don't have a rental don't be put of by its distance from town
M.
Stayed here for the first time over the weekend, only for 1 night but it was good. The in-room robes and slippers are always such a good touch. The beds are so comfortable. Definitely recommend getting a room with a view! The only thing I didn't like was the extra $5 charge every time you utilised room service..
L.
Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting and close to the airport. Lovely pool, make sure to upgrade to a lake view. Sadly whilst we were staying the hotel was grossly understaffed so our experience wasn't up to the Hilton high quality you'd expect.
A.
Awesome staff awesome views. The service we received was second to none. Rooms are clean, exceptionally clean and well laid out.
A.
My partner and I stayes at the Hilton for 5 nights for our honeymoon and we had an amazing time, the room was beautiful, the service and care from the workers was exceptional. We will 100% be coming back again
k.
I really love the room and most especially the lake and mountain view outside the room. The staffs were kind, very accommodating and were always smiling. The food were delectable as well. Worth the stay. Highly recommended 😊
T.
Beautiful view, great services, room is so spacious and beautiful. I love the hotel so much.
A.
Nice spacious, clean room with beautiful view and comfy beds. The bathrooms were huge and I loved the touch of the fire place in the room and the washing machine and dryer. I really enjoyed my massage in the Spa and the receptionist and masseuse both made my experience relaxing and welcoming. However the absolute highlight of my stay was Adela in the Restaurant, she is the epitome of customer service!!! She made our breakfast experience awesome and the reason for my 5 star review. I would also like to commend the staff on their clear efforts to maintain a good breakfast dining experience despite going into Level 2 and not being able to do Buffet. We appreciate your hard work. Thank you :)
M.
Great place to stay, room and facilities are amazing
Enjoyed the location right on the lake and handy to the airport. Breakfast was delish
C.
Loved our stay. Everything was as you'd expect from a good hotel. Room was modern, immaculate, spacious and perfectly comfortable. Bathroom the same. Views were lovely, staff more than friendly ! Only minor disappointment -had wanted to enjoy a sauna with my husband but the facilities were separated (what is this the 50's😄) We will stay here again for sure!
s.
Quality of food which they serve and room service of this hotel.
Is really awesome 👌
S.
An absolutely stunning place to stay, I wish I had longer to enjoy the facilities. Would stay again for sure!
P.
Totally enjoyed our stay and the staff were amazing. Would stay there again without hesitation.
M.
Stayed here for 6 nights and what an awesome stay! Staff were always friendly and greeted you everytime you saw them. Our room was cleaned daily which was great. The room itself was lovely although we would have loved having a microwave to heat our food but we didnt mind too much. It's a small drive away from the township which we liked as its tucked away in a quiet area. Awesome stay and would definitely recommend to others.
n.
Rooms in need of an update. Spa lid and balastrade had bird poo all over it and net curtains stained and the mirror on the wardrobe door has marks. I would of expected more from the spa room.
f.
My husband and I had a lovely few days stay at the Queenstown Kawarau Hilton. The staff were lovely and the location was spectacular.
L. W.
We flew over from Aus and stayed for 4 days. It was amazing. Great views. Amazing breakfast, nice bar.
Hot pool and hot-tub.
I have seen a few of the negative reviews and its mostly people complaining about price, you know the price before you go and are you expecting the kind of service you get at the Waldorf in NY??
There is a pandemic going on, it is off season. Lots of the staff are non NZ and potentially unable to return home, so they might not be in the best frame of mind to cater to your unrealistic expectations.
I could not fault them. The fact the bar closed at 10pm and there was no room service, is annoying. However WE ARE IN A PANDEMIC and I understand.
Also I left some property in the draw in my room, which has been couriered to me. Great service by Aditya!! Would love to return ASAP
S.
We chose the Hilton for the 5 star service and accommodation for our Honeymoon stay. When the staff found out the reason for our stay, we received a personalized card and complimentary bottle of wine, very impressed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the staff were wonderful and very accommodating where they could be. Highly recommended.
N.
Great resort type property set just out from Queenstown central towards the airport end just on the lake. Lovely cosy rooms with very good leisure facilities and F&B offering too (breakfast buffet was a sight to behold). Staff were super friendly and helpful. There's even a water taxi service to take you to the town if you didn't fancy the drive!
R.
Great experience and very memorable moments at Hilton resort and spa.
L.
Yes was a cosy place to stay room was quite lovely, had our dinner delivered it was delicious, helpful staff, little outdated decor but overall good
m.
Nice rooms and views, good service. Pretty spa center but not very clean
M.
We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Hilton Hotel at the end of a busy break. It's in a tranquil location with a great bike and walk track outside the front door. The fire pit in front of the bar was a lovely place to watch the sunset. It would have been better to have a more frequent ferry service into town, but this is run by an external supplier and related to reduction in demand at the moment.
The hotel is quite a rabbit warren and getting to our room seemed to be a long process, but once there, there was no reason to leave.
N.
We were a little concerned when we read some of the negative comments on different internet sites, but we can honestly say that our experience was 10 out of 10. We read the information prior to arrival and had no unexpected payments. We stayed in a room with a spa pool looking over the lake, and it was fantastic. Very comfortable bed, amazing bathroom (heated floor, bath, large shower). Wifi was great. Everything was great! Food in the restaurant was of a high quality and was not overly priced. Thank you everyone for an enjoyable stay.
C.
We have stayed at the Hilton Queenstown at least 5 times, in various rooms, but most recently in the two bedroom residence on the 4th floor.
The hotel facilities and services are just wonderful! The views are outstanding, the breakfast is an amazing array of options and the staff are so lovely and helpful.
We will certainly be back to enjoy the beautiful Queenstown resort this winter!
B.
Nice view, great room, but honestly for the price I expected a little more. Like there's a shelf missing from the fridge. Just a knife and a plate for my cheese would have made it 5 stars. There's also no laundromat here.
J.
Lovely place. It was nice to have a fireplace in the room. Great views. Could use more staff. The staff were great but you could they were under pressure and didn't have the time to provide that extra special service.
R.
A wonderful experience, staff helpful and friendly, views amazing, quiet and peaceful. A great place to stay.
K.
Very hard to locate the reception had to walk around to find it and on top of that pricing for parking was too much for how far you had to walk. Top it off the room is absolutely small for what you’re paying and instead of a king sized bed it’s two singles put together.
Not much toiletries that’s available as well and it’s just hard to find anything with such little signs they have. And when you book for a lakeside view room you get offered a view of apartment buildings. Thankfully the receptionist was quite nice and got a lake view room. Currently it’s not up to standards at all for a 5 star hotel. I’ve seen better at 2/3 star hotels before.
There are a few benefits to staying here though but one of the worst I’d have to say is how far it is from the main city center. Although the airport is 5mins away but where the city town is - it’s a 25-30min drive. But I’m also not complaining because the view is beautiful.
y.
Returned to Hilton for the 2nd time. This time with as a family with an infant baby. Hilton Queenstown again excelled in meeting our expectations and accommodated our needs from travelling with a baby. We will return again
S.
Loved our stay at the Hilton and will definitely be going there again sometime soon!
L.
This hotel welcomed me after I dropped off my campervan at the beginning of the Lockdown last year. They took great care of me, checked on me, made sure I didn't need food before sending staff home, etc. They also gave me a great room with a spectacular lake view for a very reasonable price. It was a great place to ride out the lockdown for 3 or so weeks before returning home to the US. I definitely appreciate all that they did for me. I'll be back hopefully someday soon to visit during more normal times.
T.
Thank you Nisha from Res for taking my call yesterday 😁you were very helpful and I loved the room. Thanks housekeeping for the clean room ✌🏾
T.
Great stay as always. Staff are very welcoming
M.
Really Enjoyed our stay here, the service was fantastic, everything was at hand, and will happily return again.
S.
Recently we had the pleasure of staying two nights in one of the Relaxation Suites . The customer care was exceptional as we had an unexpected delay in arrival, our need to stay an alternative night was accommodated without any difference in price . The suites are beautiful with the spa situated on the deck .
The only minor negative was a lack of close parking to our suite meaning a bit of a hike with luggage to and from the room
Otherwise excellent service , beautiful room and ammenities.
L.
Had a wonderful wine and food dinner, and then stayed the night in a very nice room. Will definitely do it again.
B.
Stayed there for my bday with friends. Upgraded room to Hilton residence but felt room needs some maintenance. Staff was friendly but missed a few things. Overall we had a nice time. Just can't give it 5 stars this time..maybe next.
Follow up after I'd sent an email highlighting problems we'd had was excellent so have increased stars due to this.

Room obviously hadn't been cleaned or used in quite some time, house keeping replaced our dirty cups with more dirty cups and no new spoons or glasses? Parking was a trap, only limited street parking or you pay $16 overnight. Its about 20min drive from Queenstown itself, and the restaurant was average. Really disappointed to be honest, given its meant to be 5 stars. Won't be back
I.
Enjoyed our stay there. Lovely location and yummy breakfast.
A.
The hotel and location are very nice. But please enquire about your parking options before you book. We did not have a car park provided during our stay. The options near the accommodation are street parking (Free, but hardly available due to limited spaces), paid parking (overnight - 16$ per night) OR free parking in the covered space if you leave within the first three hours.
M.
Room was rough around the edges paint falling off and chips doors not closing.
Staff more then helpful.
L.
Clean and comfortable, love the king size bed and twin basin bathroom with large bath.
Parking is a problem though, either $40 extra for valet or nearly $20 for the parking building which is a hike from the rooms if you have a lot of luggage. There were a lot of cars parked up and down the road too.
Also, our " mountain view" was actually a view of the apartments behind us
J.
Treated my wife and our 2 children for a 4 day getaway in March 2021 for my wife’s birthday. Staff at reception were friendly and professional, however, it was not up to scratch considering it’s a 5 star establishment. On our first night at the hotel, tired from the drive I ordered room service; the fish and chips were way too oily, tasteless, sloppy and overpriced. Also, my wife opened the cupboard in our room to hang our jackets and the bottom part of the door was broken (no screws keeping it in place), my wife called down to reception about it and got an apology and was told someone would look into it, unfortunately no one got it fixed while we were there.

It's not in town, and there are prettier hotels in Queenstown for sure. But you'll be very hard pressed to find a better overall package, with facilities like indoor pool, gym, waterfront location, room size, and value for money.
J.
The hotel room size, breakfast and amenities are really top notch, the pool, sauna spa area also, basically 5 star.
However the service is what gets this a three. The duty manager seemed as though she was trying to be polite, but it didn’t work. Short responses to honest queries. Felt like we should ask elsewhere.
The fireplace and TV in our Lakeview room was broken. The kind concierge Sam came to have a look, got the TV working but couldn’t manage the fire.
Next morning we advised the same duty manager about the same fireplace, just in case.
Returned home that evening to the same broken fireplace.
Rang reception who sent up maintenance who advised a part was broken and it couldn’t be fixed, that he hadn’t been advised it was broken?
So for our two night stay we relied on the aircon that really struggled in 0C 🥶
Also FYI it’s a 20-30 min drive to town or a water taxi so maybe don’t bother at all.
W.
We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, got upgrade to a residential suite.... such a wonderful room outlooking into the lake.
Full size kitchen, everything we needed, shower great, underfloor heating in bathroom was a big tick..
.
Parking is extra but so worth it as we were in and out otherwise parking csn be tricky, would recommend to arrange parking (honest, worth it)!
Water taxi is an excellent option and so fast into the town, cheaper for Hilton guests too!
Hotel is wonderful, grande, spacious and a really good team of staff.
Our Son is getting married in Queenstown next year, we shall definitely be back and recommend to other's. Thank you for a wonderful 6 nights stay.

T.
High quality accommodation and high quality staff to ensure you feel warmly welcomed and valued as a Hilton Honor's guest! Definitely the best hotel experience for me to date!
t.
Room was good and clean on arrival but the next day wasn't serviced on our return at 3pm.
The hotel is a distance from town so we hired a car to get about. There is minimal free parking and always taken which meant having to use Hilton parking at a ridiculous cost of $16 per day in the nearby parking garage or even more expensive $40 hotel parking. This is pure gouging as there was no alternative but to pay. When discussing this the hotel staff were rude.
We have travelled extensively overseas and never had problems with parking.
N.
Awesome spot, lovely rooms and great facilities. Especially the spa!
P.
Beautiful place to stay. The views are amazing, the staff friendly and well appointed rooms. Definitely will return
F.
The best part about this hotel is the water taxi that you can take to get to Queenstown! Other than that, it's such a lovely place to unwind and relax. Get the room with the lake view if you can, it's totally worth it!
B.
There is no free parking which can be a pain.
I personally found the gadget in the room to be outdated. There was no coffee machine or a latest smart Tv.
In the up side the staff was very friendly and the hotel does have amazing views.
A.
Absolutely the best hotel and experience I've had in NZ. Highly recommend the spa on site, and the Wakatipu Grill lived up to its reputation for beef and lamb.
L.
Very nice place. Rooms were great. Some of the staff however were not so friendly or welcoming. We had a meal at the bar restaurant. Most meals were pretty good but sirloin steak was not cooked as ordered and a very cheap cut of meat. A real let down. Having used Hilton properties in many parts of the world this one was a bit of a let down other than the rooms. The whole 0lace given location etc has a lot going for it but the details need improvement
D.
There were many things that were below standard here! On check in, we were given a *room that was smaller than pictured on Booking.com, and it had a strange balcony connected to a neighbouring residence, which made us very uncomfortable and was just weird. We were able to be moved to a different room which looked just like the picture.
Housekeeping was completely below standard:
- some days it would not have been done, even by 5pm or 6pm (we had to ask for it to be done)
- there were random things left in the room: on one occasion, a face washer bunched up and sitting on the sofa armrest, on the last day, a spray bottle with blue cleaning liquid in it was left in the bathroom
- when we used the bathroom for the first time, we realised we had no towels
- the ironing board had three large rips in it and had to be jammed in to the storage space as it was too big for it
- the drawers in the clothes/linen cupboard were loose and falling off
- the shower was never ever attended to - empty amenity bottles not collected and thrown away
- we asked for scotch glasses to be brought to the room: on day one, there were lovely 'proper' scotch glasses brought to the room; the next time we asked we received cheap and nasty 'water' glasses
- there was a mysterious red stain on the sofa armrest which we had to ask to be cleaned
- the bathrobes were HORRIBLE... old, fraying and stiff like cardboard
The Wakatipu Bar & Grill:
- breakfast here each day was OK, but always the same... after 6 days of the same thing it gets REALLY boring. What would it take to mix things up a little? The only thing we saw change was one dish, which was sometimes porridge, once bread & butter pudding, another time apricot crumble.
- one night we went for dinner at 8.30 and the server who greeted us clearly checked her watch before agreeing to seat us, and was obviously not impressed that we had arrived when we did.
P.
Fantastic 3 day stay lake view room. Lovely location close to airport. Facilities are awesome. We wouldn't consider staying amywhelse now.
M.
Very comfortable place to stay. Great facilities. Only disappointment was there was no coffee plunger in the room, which now days even in a cheap hotel/motel you get a coffee plunger so I think this needs to be looked at!
O.
Not too far from town, very nice and quiet, it has direct access to water taxi to take you to queenstown ($10 return per person) good option when you dont want to find parking in queenstown. I stayed at private spa room, it has spa ensuite, just a note, if you stay in spa, forget the high floor. All spa are on lowest floor but you still be mesmerised with the lake view. And direct private access from room to lakeside!
Love our stay, however breakfast is not as much variety as I expect from 5 stars hotel. Could be improved more
L.
Excellent accommodation with stunning lake view. Welcome biscuits make us feel warmly welcomed despite having no reception for the Village Apartments.
L.
I've been here 2 times. Room was always clean and tidy. Swimming pool is just alright.
You can use swimming pool and 1 spa pool, steam and dry sauna for free if you stay in this hotel. I went to riding and then spent my time in this swimming pool. Super relaxing day.
Breakfast buffet is $39 ish pp. coffee included. Breakfast is just same as any other posh hotels. I loved here's croissant lol.
S.
Absolutely adore this place and it meets the high standard set by many people. The staff are stunning, friendly and kind, they make you feel at home as they always go out of their way to help you. We stayed in the Delux room with Lakeview, and it made our honeymoon so special and wonderful! We resorted to renting a car but there is a ferry available to help you commute to town with a discount. I read reviews about lack of free parking but we had no problem with that as there is always parking available on the main street though, there is a little walk involved. Overall, the highly accommodating and marvellous staff outweighs anything that could come across as a con! Will definitely be coming back to enjoy another wonderful holiday.
C.
A luxurious winter retreat accessible by road or water taxi. So many areas in the resort to explore. Loved the 12pm checkout time - very thoughtful.
M.
Yes this once was a 5 star but sadly the place is looking worn out due to lack of general maintenance with most tiles in each area falling off such as the spa and every walkway .
The staff a great but the Wakatipu restaurant serving pizza like Domino’s was very peculiar on Sunday.
Expected at least brassiere standard food but received at best, cafe .
The room was advertised as a king room which would assume a king bed but it was diminutive at almost a meter smaller than the head board
M.
Everything was great; the room, view, gas fire, breakfast, room service, convenient water taxi to town. Even a super blood moon and eclipse! I enjoyed every moment of our stay thank you.
J.
Starting to age a bit, but still has a '5 star feel' to it. Have to pay $5 for a flat white at buffet breakfast which is a bit strange for a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was decent with good range.
S.
Great facilities
Friendly helpful staff .
Amazing lake side views
N.
Really great experience, an absolutely beauty place and good sized rooms and views. The halls are like a maze but all the staff I have come across are welcoming and all have lovely smiles. Very well done 😊
P.
A stylish hotel, amazing location with breathtaking views, lovely and spacious 2 bed room apartment ideal for families, great indoor pool and spa. Food options are not ideal for vegans / vegetarian, limited selection, rather pub food style
R.
A really nice place too stay, staff are great and the place was spacious and tidy. Bit of a pity that a lot was closed due to Covid, but still great nonetheless. There is a cheap water taxi to get you to Queenstown, which is also a fun trip!
K.
Best place in Queenstown for massages. Professional and a great experience.
Spa services are free for every booking
E.
Nice spacious rooms with friendly, helpful staff. Was pretty disappointed in the buffet breakfast, it was less than average with cold rubbery food. Disappointed to discover the bar/restaurant wouldn't serve food after 9pm even though it says its open until 10pm. The stacks pub was also shut at 10pm even though it says its open until "late" and the pub was full. Room service was a bit slow, taking 40mins to deliver 2 cold drinks. Also the parking situation is a bit inconvenient
m.
This is our 2nd time and we stayed for 3nights and enjoyed with my family.
But compared to last time wasnt as good as last time.
1 I found one slipper by the bed
2 Cups in the room weren't clean(coffee or tea stain in the bottom of cups)
3 Freezer wasn't clean properly(Fridge was clean)
4 outside chairs weren't clean(Old bird poos were on them so couldnt sit down)
5 The bottom of closet Mirror was dirty
6 The picture on the wall above the desk had something black thing that looked like bird poo(I didnt want to look it closely)
7 Hilton hotel used to provide toothbrush but no this time
8 Whenever i put shampoo etc that you provided at hotel on shower soap holder,
everything was falling off from that.
Should change shower soap holder otherwise nowhere to put them on so i had to pick them up whenever i put them on there.
These are tiny things but compared to last time less cleanliness this time.
We really enjoyed breakfast and good options.
Great hospitality by waitresses!
Next time i wish they provide "banana" "Rice" "Soup" "iced coffee" etc
My 15months old daughter slipped in the bathtub, shower room.
And Cried a lot.
Hopefully next time Hotel provides non slip mat for little one too.
Anway, thanks to Team Hilton
we enjoyed staying for 3nights.
S.
Staff were super friendly. Family loved staying here. Easy access to ski fields & all you need without having to go into town.
J.
Situated right next to the airport and the beautiful lake, Hilton Queenstown is airy, clean, spacious and modern. We stayed at the king relaxation room which is on the first floor and features a jacuzzi for us to relax in after a day of exploration. Their breakfast buffet is set up also right next to the lake. Views are beautiful, scenic and peaceful and the selection of dishes is international and inclusive. Would highly recommend anyone who is visiting Queenstown to consider staying here. Plus, the rates are much better than hotels close to downtown and there’s a reduced price ferry that would get you there.
C.
The hotel was great and everything was lovely, I would stay again . Only down side was the very soft uncomfortable bed. We booked a king bed but it was two king singles pushed together but they were so soft and uncomfortable.
But other than that, a good experience, nice staff.
J.
Everything was good with room and very clean, all staff lovely, they fixed any issues we had quickly. Food from restaurant isn’t amazing for the price and the room delivery fee should be wiped as prices already inflated, plus the wait is very long, they say 45min but it’s always over an hour sometimes 2 hours! Parking is awful! Pool and spa need to be hotter, it’s winter guys, please sort it out! At this stage wouldn’t stay again due to food and parking.
C.
If I could give more stars I would. From the first minute we arrived the staff were amazing. The room was gorgeous with fantastic views. Everyone was just so helpful. We also highly recommend the buffet breakfast and the awesome staff especially Tiago who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Thanks. We will be back.
G.
Amazing and the best stay !! Hilton offers the best , pampers you a lot !!
Makes sure the guests are comfortable.
Our stay at Hilton was for 5 days simply amazing and worth the cost !! What a view from the room 😍
Overall : 10/10
Breakfast crew : Super cute and extremely helpful , Special shoutout to Izzy , Della and Kirran for amazing hospitality - our mornings were so refreshing and boosting.
Room Service - Thank you to Fransica you are a gem - friendly and has a beautiful smile. She made sure our stay so comfortable.
Green Salad from the in-dining is highly recommended!!
Front Desk - Sam Wright was a star , we had some difficulties but he was on his toes to get things sorted and was so prompt at his service.
Thank you very much team for making our stay so good and rememberable :)
J.
Looooove this hotel. Rooms were so spacious and comfortable. Friendly staff. Awesome pool and sauna, steam rooms. Wish the hot pool jets actually jetted but oh well! Really delicious buffet breakfast at the Wakatipu Grill. Drinks coupons could be used for a gourmet cofee-loved that. Caught the water taxi to town-Hilton discount was good. Nice to ve outside if town, convenient shopping ctr 3 minutes away. Lakeside Residences had a washer and dryer-amazibng! Will definitely stay there again.
D.
The room was excellent, staff were very accommodating thought the entire stay. They have a deal with the water taxis where it only costs $5 to go into town (about $40 for a taxi) which is fantastic and you can't beat the views. Never stayed at a place anything like this before, the Hilton have set an extremely high standard.
C.
Good service room and staff.. little hiccup in forgetting to organise a taxi we asked for..
D.
Stayed here for a week, loved our room and the heated tiles in the bathroom was a plus. Amazing view and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet had a good selection. However, we went to the bar and grill downstairs for dinner and were told they were booked out and we had to make a reservation but the manager managed to get us a table inside with no view at all, the place had so many empty tables and was definitely not full, even after we finished our meal there was at least half the restaurant still empty so was really disappointed in this.
H.
Nice place to stay, so quite and peaceful great views.
K.
Great hotel! Already booked to stay again
S.
This is a re-review on my behalf. After a very unfortunate first experience, we were invited back for the Hilton to redeem themselves - and what a contrast it was the second time round! The service was impeccable, the staff were knowledgeable and happy to help, check-in was simple and efficient, the room was even upgraded to a lakeview, such a wonderful bonus. Even with covid, and the inability to have a buffet breakfast, they were still able to provide a lovely banquet breakfast for each table. The only major downside to the stay, was the parking and lack of direction from the carpark to the hotel/rooms, which we found difficult to navigate our way to our room. Otherwise, it was a relaxing weekend, and I will definitely be staying with the Hilton in future - thanks Team!
D.
Awesome hotel on the Kelvin Peninsula with a scheduled water taxi service right at the door to Queenstown Town Centre. Also right on the Queenstown Trails network for cycling along the peninsula, and to Queenstown Town Centre, Arrowtown, Gibbston Valley and Jack’s Point with e-bike hire available by the hotel. Staff are superb, there’s great eating at the Wakatipu Grill and the on-site Eforea Spa does excellent massages and spa treatments.
C.
The room was beautiful, the views spectacular, but neither compared to the staff. The staff were friendly, thoughtful, beyond helpful and just really the nicest people you could hope to encounter on holiday.
K.
Located on the opposite end of Queenstown. We had the Lakeside view room, enjoyed waking up daily to this amazing view. Rooms were a decent size too.
We had a daily buffet breakfast as well - wide range of selection with great outdoor view of the lake.
There is under ground parking available for $16/day with multiple entry and exit.
J.
The location is perfect, it is further to the city by road, but it's close to the slopes, and so much more! Plus you can take the water taxi to get to downtown and not have to worry about where to park! The location right next to the lake is amazing, there is a little path that follows the lake and you can walk for hours! Or rent a bike! Their rooms are decent size and perfect for families as have separate rooms, and you have plenty of choice with restaurants. Love this place.
H.
Best place ever. Amazing food, amazing staff, such a great experience thank you!
A.
Stayed there after multi day trekking. Found it very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and hospitable.
Ease of connectivity, good food. I would stay there again.
T.
Friendly staff, high quality fittings and fixtures. However, for a five star hotel and supposedly a deluxe Lakeview room, it was a little disappointing. We were actually one building away from the lake in a fairly small room, no cooking facilities or crockery etc. Also the place is huge, and you can spend quite a long time getting used to how to find your room! Very expensive extras, parking $16 a day, etc. Better value in Queenstown elsewhere.
D.
Was a day visitor at the day spa. Had a lovely massage. Just a shame the showers were cold or it would have been a 5 star rating.
R.
Used this hotel as a launching pad for driving the south side of the island. Great location on the water lake (name?). Two nights worth. Good price and about $100 US a night.
I picked a lake view guest room and this was more than enough for me. Liked how the tub and shower were separated. Parking was $16 NZ a day but no big deal.
A lot of amenities that I didn't use but they are here.
Served its purpose and no complaints.
H.
Probably beautiful location with outstanding views from the rooms facing the lake! One of my favorite memories of being there was standing on the balcony early in the morning watching a storm roll over the lake. Absolutely stunning views!
The location is a bit remote, you can take the water taxi into town or regular taxi etc. But there is a little shop on site that has a lot more than you think for the size.
The in-room amenities and decor are lovely. The soaking tub is perfect after along, fun-filled day of activity.
S.
We really enjoyed our stay here, the staff were very friendly and genuinely helpful. Our room was fantastic with lake views. Loved the heated floor in the bathroom, a nice touch. And the bathroom was massive with double sinks, a large shower and a bath tub big enough for two. We would highly recommend this place, its set in a beautiful location and won't disappoint. Room service was also excellent.
J.
Great location outside of the main town but close to the airport. The water taxi makes for a fun way in for dinner and a drink. The hotel is new and the amenities are great but the service leaves something to be desired. The housekeeping is average at best, they didn't clear the used glasses and would let themselves in without knocking or stand outside the door without knocking, very strange. Also the bartender was nothing short of rude at the wine bar. Very disappointed with the staff at almost ever turn which was disappointing because the view and hotel itself were amazing.
M.
Awesome place to stay while in Queenstown, great service, food and great views.
H.
Had a wonderful stay back in March and coming back again this weekend!
Loved the interior layout and the lake view from the room.
M.
Great place, amazing views. Superb rooms.
Staff are friendly and helpful went the extra mile and made are stay special as we celebrated our wedding anniversary. Will definitely be back.
K.
First of all,
Thanks to Team Hilton.
We stayed 29June-1July2020 with my Family in the standard room which is a nice and small. Also had a beautiful and CLEAN bathtub in there.
As we requested in advance, They provided a baby portable bed and a warm blanket for our 10Month old daughter.
The reason why we booked your hotel was they have a heated pool.
But unfortunately, on the 1st day when we checked in at 3pm, the pool was under maintenance so asked the front staff who said probably a couple hours but actually closed the rest of the day.
Luckly we booked for 2nights so instead of going to the pool, went to the Gym room and had a nice bath at our room so all good.
The 2nd day, after breakfast about 8:30am, we checked if it's open or not and we couldn't see any sign so went back to our room and changed to swim suits but
maintenance sign was up again.
So there was a staff so asked him and said another 20mins.
After that, we went back and it was finally open!
My daughter didnt cry in the pool even though it was her 1st time. And hot tub was so cool too! We all had a great time in there. There are always someone cleaning that was impressed.
Anyway, we enjoyed there twice a day. So clean and the staff was friendly too!
About Breakfast,
We tried 2 times, and we both felt a bit lack of selections also same except custard croissant. But staff are friendly especially Hiroko, who was clearly the outstanding and nicest staff member there.... very pleasant to us.
Overall, 5Stars.
Great team work Hilton QT!
Clean, friendly and attentive staff!
Thank you!
H.
Hilton was fantastic thoroughly enjoyed our stay the food and the staff.
G.
Great location for an excellent place to stay. We got a nice room with lake view. All services up and running. Super quiet.
L.
Located a very short distance from the airport is the Hilton bid you haven't organised a rental vehicle expect to pay almost $30 to be taken by taxi or shuttle here. The room I had was a deluxe lake view. It comprises two small rooms and a bathroom. It was clean and tidy but had a but if a tired feel to it, is: the carpet had ripples in it. The bathroom was generous for two people with both a large walk in shower and deep bath, two basins.
Breakfast at the restaurant is appealing with both continental and cooked foods.
There is a water taxi that picks you up outside the restaurant and will take you to the CBD for $5 each. It comes every hour with extra hours over the weekend. If you aren't worried about a 15 MN walk you can cross the Walk bridge and be at the Frankton bus station where you can get to Arrowtown or the CBD for $4 pp. Directly across from the station and over the sports field is the Frankton shopping district. There are 2 supermarkets, eateries, clothes shops, Kmart.
Highly recommend the Walter peak station lunch excursion, and the trip to Doubtful sounds or Milford is a whole day out, but really magical.
A walk around the town garden is short and enjoyable.
L.
Stayed for two nights on a deal. Loved it. Lakeside view was great. Was second time staying there. Great breakfast. Til the next time, after winter peak season. 😁
L.
Had an amazing spa day with Celine. Absolutely fantastic massage, exfoliation and facial. Totally recommend and definitely will do again. Absolute bliss.
T.
Let's start with the good : - Location is good. Near the lake, they have a boat-shuttle that costs almost nothing for reaching the city. View is beautiful.- Breakfast is good but often not included in the price of the room and it's not easy …
E.
The location was nice with lots of amenities. We enjoyed being able to rent electric bikes and hopping right on a bike path. We very much enjoyed the free shuttle service into town as well. Breakfast was delicious as well. Our only complaint was there was a lack of communication somewhere and had to remind the hotel we had 3 people for breakfast and it was included (we booked through a travel agent and purchased breakfast with each place we stayed ahead of time).
C.
Upgraded to lake view room on the 6th floor due to Hilton gold. Location was quiet and serene. Room and bedding were excellent with a pseudo fire place to warm the room. Service was good, but you could feel that some of the service staff were going through the motion.
T.
We have loved our stay at the Hilton. The staff are brilliant. They are attentive, professional and so knowledgeable. Beautiful rooms and very new accommodation.
E.
Overall we had a very nice time here. The breakfast isn't really very high quality and I cant recommended.our first night was quiete bad for several reasons but when we went to talk with them about it they upgraded us gave us a discount and made sure we feel good. So they do what they can and dont let you wait if there are any queries which is what you want. Loved the water taxi option to town and the possibility to swim and use the sauna. The beds are all around very soft. But I would definitely come again without breakfast option !!!
E.
My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights at the end of July and we couldn't have had a more pleasant stay. The staff were incredibly friendly, the room was amazing and the food was great. When we first checked into our room, we did notice that one of the cupboards in the room was broken, however after notifying staff immediately they had someone out to fix it the next day and we received 2 drinks vouchers each for our trouble. They have an excellent program where you can notify them of staff who have been particularly helpful, we ended up submitting this for 4 of the staff who went out of their way to make our stay more comfortable. We've already decided that we'll stay there next time we come to Queenstown
C.
Stayed for 4 nights in Deluxe Lakeview.
The check-in procedure was smooth and staffs were friendly. My room was located on 8th floor and was little bit confused to find. Room were spacious, well organized. Especially, he in-house fireplace was fantastic. The view was also great. The only problem with this room was, I booked double bed room but they gave me a twin room. I asked them to change my room to double one, but returned answer was that there is no free room.
The bathroom was just excellent.
This hotel is located a bit far from downtown of Queenstown. There is regular water taxi service to the downtown. I didn't take that because I had a car so nothing particular comment about that. Parking lot is a little far from the reception desk and had limited space.
Breakfast and the restaurant were spotless. I really enjoyed every breakfast served here.
L.
We haven't stayed here but we came to have breakfast at the buffet after a friend recommended it. The buffet was great! Not only lovely food in the buffet itself but the chef will cook you eggs (fried, scrambled, in an omelette .... how ever you like) and pancakes to order. Can highly recommend a trip out just for the food 😁
A.
We just left after having an amazing night. We were very impressed with this hotel. After staying at numerous hotels across America and New Zealand, this one by far is my favorite. We felt so welcomed from the minute we arrived. The service at the front desk was very professional and welcoming. The room was set up perfectly and the spa was beautiful! The anniversary set up was stunning as well. Can’t wait to come back.
R.
So I had a single room king suite, the wakatipu suite if I'm not mistaken. Upon entering the hotel I am immediately greeted by the front desk. And gives me my room key although I can use the digital key on the app. Give me instructions on how to access my room overall he's very courteous and professional. Please refer to my photos for information about the room, all in all it was a fantastic comfortable living space. The morning breakfast is $40 affair, but it was delicious and the eggs Benedict was done right. I do not protect in the swimming pool nor the spa, the gym however was minimal at best. Would recommend this place 5/5
G.
Amazing staff, always keen to make our stay better! And the restaurant kai is primo too!
M.
Whenever i am coming back to queenstown, this is where ill be staying. Loved the bequtiful touch in everything. The property is so huge you can spend the whole vacation just here and will have a relaxing time. Enjoyed the complimentry breakfast with a variety to choose from.
D.
Lovely service, though the rooms are a little dated and not quite worth the premium price. The location is incredibly tranquil, with ducks and wildlife, the views are nice, but there are nicer mountain views more closer to Queenstown central. Our mini-bar fridge - in a king deluxe room - was entirely un stocked (incredibly odd in 2019), until I realised why... when a bottle of water I put inside it froze to an absolute rock in a couple of hours. Mattresses were so soft and old that the bed felt like a water mattress - not very refreshing sleep. Bathroom and shower were lovely and well cleaned. There's a spa experience that looks amazing, but it's expensive and has to be pre-booked. The pool and grounds are well kept and present very well. Breakfast takes a while, so leave plenty of time, but is delicious. By far, the wine tasting experience in the bar is an absolute MUST DO, and is an absolutely beautiful hour or so to indulge with cheese, crackers, and NZ's finest whites and reds. So good we almost did it TWICE! You'll need to catch the ferry service in to town (or rely on Ubers which are sort of scarce, or taxis) but the drivers and ferry service is amazing. The trip is worth it for the views of the lake and mountains alone.
A.
Nice views from our king lake wakatipu suite . Nice property, but the hotel needs some upgrades. Was disappointed with amenities for the room and did not feel value for my money. Food not much variety.
D.
Amazing stay friendly staff beautiful views awesome room definitely best place I've stayed by far
J.
Great hotel, fantastic room. Has a fire place which I'm sure gets used much more in the winter. The shower has 2 options, regular shower head & a ceiling shower & the floor was heated, awesome! Bed was clean and very comfy, I slept sound every night. The view of the end of the lake with the mountains in the background was amazing. Matt at the bar gave me some great suggestions of places to go in town. 15 minutes away by taxi or around 20 with the water taxi that has a fantastic view along the way.
E.
I was here 2 weeks ago with my wife, and staying at the Hilton was amazing, they really accommodated us and even changed our room to make it easier for my wife as she struggles with walking, I especially want to thank Prem for looking after us by going above and beyond to make sure we loved our stay and because of him we really did, thank you so much once again!
P.
Really nice hotel in a great location, Staff very friendly - our room was very nice, clean and well-maintained. Good restaurants although service could be better sometimes (but we do strongly believe it was an isolated case, as on the next day everything was fine). It’s so funny that if you come down to the lobby in a full wedding (bridal) dress and tuxedo, nobody even looks at you much - day like everyday ;) we loved it. Great place as a base to explore the area.

One of the nicest hotel experiences in NZ.
For us it had the perfect location and it was so easy to get to the heart of Queenstown. Be mindful that the ferry doesn’t run that often so make sure you know the time table.
Ferry cost 5$ per person, one way.
The ferry trip is very nice.
On the way back, we took an Uber which was approximately the same price for 4 people.
Our rooms had an amazing view.
The hotel lobby is unfortunately very boring.
The sauna/swimming pool is nice.
Unfortunately it’s women/men separated so my husband and I couldn’t enjoy it together. The jacuzzi wasn’t working which was a pity.
We loved the breakfast and the location. Be on time for a nice spot as it gets full very quickly.
I find it ridiculous that an international company like Hilton charges you when you pay with your card. Its 2019!
F.
Great quiet location. Either drive there or if you are wanting to make use of public/private taxi you can catch a water ride across to Queenstown from the hotel lake front. Breakfast was great value for money, with free juices, water, tea and coffee but also the option to have a espresso barrister made cup starting from $5.00NZD. Lobby was welcoming with staff greeting you everywhere from the front desk, to the doorman and valet personnel. Bedroom was clean and tidy; nice king size bed with a lounge area. Gas fueled fire place with air conditioning was great, the T.V was a bit small for the room size. Bar fridge in the room was not turned on prior so was warm and didn't cool in time to keep our already cool drinks cold. They had a nice display of Louis Vuitton hand bags in the lobby near the hotel lifts which I thought was cool yet strange because it sets your partner up for wanting to go and purchase another one haha! The valet parking was an option however we took the self park as we had a Ford Mustang and didn't want it getting damaged, it was a shame that the self service parking for $16.00NZD per day/night included a very confusing 5 minute walk to and from the car park located at Hinton Doubletree underground back up the main resort. Lastly the pools included at this location are indoor and offer a public spa or long lap pool. Clean and towel available at each table or seating. Above the pool area were the changing rooms which were clean however the steam and sauna rooms were not warm or operating also clear instructions were listed however I was unable to get the rooms working, also they had a very bad smell coming from them so I avoided this and went back down to the pools. Overall 4/5 stars but will still recommend to friends and family.

Friendly staff, delicious breakfast with a view ! We booked a room with a private jacuzzi for our honeymoon and my birthday ! They had some little surprises for us ! We really enjoyed our stay here !
D.
Amazing facility, beautiful room even had our own washing machine and dryer. Comfortable bed and pillows.
M.
Lovely rooms and views, the place is a bit of a rabbit warren to navigate and the parking is either hard to find or astronomically priced.
Staff at breakfast were hit and miss in terms of professionalism and warmth.
m.
Great facilities amazing rooms and top chef
M.
Fabulous welcome, our stay was awesome, front office, concierge, room service, spa, breakfast etc everything gets a five star rating from me.... Fantastic property to spend couple of nights.... I had a great week at the resort and was taken care very very well. Will definitely stay her again!
E.
We came here for our honeymoon and had a very lovely stay. We stayed in the relaxation room with a hot tub at the lake side and it was always clean and smelling fresh. The bathroom had a hot tub and a stand up shower with the option of a rain type shower head from the ceiling. The housekeeping did a fantastic job and left us with little towel animals of swans, elephants, and puppies. All staff were professional and nice. They have a hotel restaurant which we weren't satisfied with at all as the portions were too little for its price. They also have parking that gets full quickly and on our first day we had to park on the side of the road and walk downhill to our room. Overall, our stay in at this resort was a very good one :)
P.
Great room, great service, great price, awesome location
L.
Such a beautiful hotel. We loved it! For us the location was great. We loved taking the water taxi to town. It was very convenient. Breakfast was delicious! We had drinks and dinner as well. All were great!
J.
5 stars isn't enough, I give it 6. Such a beautiful resort hotel. It offers so much more than we expected. I would highly recommend it for many types of occasions or events, they are well set up for it all. We stayed for a romantic relaxing holiday and it certainly was that. The food in the restaurants were just as good as the rest of the place. It's a little out of the way but worth it.
R.
Beautiful place! Fantastic service! We stayed here for 2 nights mid-december and we loved it. It's away from the CBD, close to the airport. It's an easy walk to and from the airport but there is no paved walkway so you can't drag luggage. There is an hourly water taxi to and from the CBD (about 20mins) for $5 each way when you show the room key. The Wakatipu Grill restaurant and bar is excellent with a beautiful view of the mountains. Parking option is paid valet only.
P.
This is our 2nd visit, seems like 2nd one is better, had more time to spend here! Staff is awesome and rooms are top notch, hot tubs could be better, two people can fit but only jets for one
E.
Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of a two-week road trip through NZ. It was an amazing way to begin my vacation — views from our balcony facing the lake were gorgeous! The food at the restaurant downstairs was to die for: we had the breakfast buffet and a sit-down dinner. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub in the spa area.
Great location. Close to the airport and the Remarkables mountains... also just a short hop from downtown via water taxi.
Disclaimer- my friend whom I was traveling with works for Hilton Auckland so we had a little something extra in the room when we checked in (a lovely little bottle of champagne!). It was a nice touch, in my opinion. I would stay there again.
M.
I was lucky enough to be selected as guest of the day and receive an upgraded room and a range of other delightful perks. The staff are wonderfully hospitable and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Great food, cocktails and views!
E.
Wow, very nice room with amazing views. Great service in all areas of the resort.
We stayed in this resort over five nights, enjoying the sights and sounds through the time we were there.
We were offered different options of room, on arrival, given a tour of the main areas, as well as options for upgrading our room. The staff were very accommodating to our needs and we were put at ease very quickly.
Our stay included a few meals in their restaurants, and breakfast was amazing! Lots of options from the ready to eat buffet style to the ordering of hot cooked meal to our taste, by very competent cooks, with wait staff as attentive to our every need.
The pools offer a nice experience and gymn was open to all guests, set central to the resort for ease.
We also loved the Spa and service provided there, it was lavish and staff attentive to us also.
B.
We had a wonderful stay here. We found the staff very welcome and helpful. Beautiful location (that's an understatement) and the ferry across the lake is fun and a great way to go to Queenstown. If you choose self parking make sure you get a multiday parking pass at the beginning of your stay or you might find yourself double charged. The breakfast was good and the staff were very accommodating for our three children. The pool is nice but not really for kids so be sure to bring floaties or lifejackets. All in all we had a lovely time.
V.
We lived here on our recent trip to Queenstown and took a room with Lake view. It was beautiful. The room was cozy, comfortable and clean. The views were picturesque.
They offer range of services like swimming pool, hotels, spas and have a cafe as well.
They also have 3 restaurants 1 for lunch and the other 2 for dinner. The nearby Bar is good place to hang out and is famous for pizzas.
Its not exactly a budget accomodation, but the services and views make it worth it.
S.
Great place to relax, enjoying a sauna (dry & wet), a small spa bath and a nice pool. The facilities are very modern! Highly recommend!
H.
Large resort style hotel with huge space, we booked this hotel from a recommendation from friends. We were in a “King Hilton Deluxe Lakeview” for 4 nights for our babymoon. The breakfast buffet is on the smaller side for such a huge resort, the options were quite limited however does the trick for breakfast. The outstanding customer service from the host Michaela and our server Hari make up for the food! Each morning they were so welcoming, friendly and truly started our days off wonderfully. We received excellent service from all staff members however Michaela and Hari were stand outs! The room was large, particularly the bathroom was wonderful. We had hired a car and parked in the self park car park for $16NZD, this was super convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would highly recommend and return.
S.
Staff always happy to help, and the restraunt dinning is well displayed. Loved our short stay, even got a room upgrade. The water taxi make town access super easy and if your a guest it's only $5Nz each way.
c.
Ok. Fair enough the hotel is not in Queenstown city centre. But the location is actually a plus. You are very close to the airport (don’t worry, no issue at all with noise) and you have a great hotel service by boat to go to the city. The setting is amazing with one of the most iconic views in town. The hotel has everything to have a great time, cosy fireplace lobby and bar, French bakery, nice gastro pub. The rooms are also stunning with your own fireplace (I recommend the suites facing the lakes). Very helpful staff and service.
E.
This hotel take an advantage a lot located by the lake. Apart from that, they're just an average. I mostly spent time with SPG hotels around the world and so my standard may fit on them so i found more drawback towards this hotel. Firstly, mind to bring water before you go as there is no complimentary water if you're not VIP guests. I stayed lake view residence for few nights and a wash basin in the bathroom is totally clogged so it may take more time than you think. As it's a residence room, kitchenette and cutlery are equipped but don't bother to use it because the knives never work properly as it's dull ever and plates are provided upon request. Not a single plates was in at the first place. I think their management regarding parking system is poor. I know some previous guests didn't pay for self parking in the garage but they're aaying it must have provided by a complimentary which is not a true at all. What they're saying is just to avoid their responsibility for failing management. I hope they don't use mr.ms.mrs. if they don't have any idea. If someone doesn't have any tier on Hilton, i would never recommend this hotel as they don't helpful at all.
L.
Amazing service, views from our room were to die for. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable. Most enjoyable stay, thank you.
A.
From the moment I arrived I felt the warmth and helpfulness of each member of staff. From the gentleman at valet, to the front reception crew and even the ladies who make our rooms.
Check in was fast and simple. The lady was extremely helpful telling us about the area, the ferry from outside of the hotel and time and location for breakfast.
I came to NZ for my birthday with my 6 year old daughter. We had a beautiful room with a picture perfect view looking over the lake.
Every staff member we interacted with was very nice.
Our room was spacious with a bath tub. Every night we had water left on our bed side table with a piece of Guylian chocolate that my daughter enjoyed.
On my birthday I was surprised with a slice red velvet cake with macarons, hand made chocolates in a pretty box, as well as a bottle of wine and a birthday card. Coming back to the hotel after a fun filled day and seeing this beautiful gesture by the staff made me very very happy.
Room service food was priced extremely reasonably (I thought it would be very expensive but it wasn’t)
Breakfast had a vast majority of different options including fruits, pastries, muffins, eggs, pancakes, hash browns and cuisines from Asia.
The wait staff during breakfast were quick to seat us and offer us tea or coffee. They even created a cook hot chocolate for my daughter with a teddy on it.
They had colouring packs for little kids which was a hit with my daughter.
The valet was great as I was able to ring from my room requesting my car to be bought out front so when I got up I was ready to leave
I had high expectations of my stay and I couldn’t fault a thing.
I’ll definetely be back in the near future and would definetely recommend Hilton Queenstown to everyone.
M.
Absolutely beautiful hotel and we highly recommend! Immaculate grounds and an easy water taxi into town that is $5/person per trip so a couple would spend $20 RT when they want to go into town. Great restaurants on site, friendly staff and an overall fantastic experience. Amazing views from every room and this place does it right. Highly recommend!!!
L.
Pros:
We had a very pleasant stay here. Had a lovely room with a view. The 2 steps up into the bedroom add a little something extra. Fireplace in the room made it super cozy. The bathroom had a huge shower and tub. Very friendly staff all throughout the resort. We also loved the hot pool located right next to the lap pool. And there is a free steam room and sauna located just a floor above. The location is great if you have a car or can pre-plan your journey by booking a free hotel shuttle into town. The shuttle goes at specific times so best to book in advance and plan ahead. There was also a water taxi but we didn't use it.
Also never had a problem with finding parking. There are two indoor parking levels and a few spots around the resort. Also plenty on the road. If you do park on the road, you can ring reception and get someone to come pick you up since it's a slight walk away.
Cons:
There were a few areas where improvements could be made so I had to take off a star for that reason. The food in and around the area is average. Especially the room service and Wakatipu grill. Breakfast is $40pp which is pretty steep compared to some of the other hotels we have been to. It was okay but nothing amazing. Room service food was bad. Don't bother with it. We tried 5 different options hoping it would improve but it got worse.
The room should also have been flipped so the sofa faced the views. The terrace could also make better use of the space. Would have been lovely to have some benches or other activities like the giant chessboard out there. At the moment it's just empty with some grass, chessboard and fab views.
The main pool was also pretty cold. It's lightly heated but I was still shivering. The hot pool would also be better with jets.
W.
Very nice indeed. A nice view from our room on third level. Appreciated the adjoining room door. See you again in 10 days
C.
From the time you pull up in front of the Hilton you feel special.. the valet opens your door, greets you and shows you to reception. The hotel itself is lovely, very relaxed and quiet for those romantic get aways.
The staff are lovely! Housekeeping would leave a lovely note and is to in return when leaving the room. The room itself was beautiful. Loved the heated flooring in the bathroom. Would've loved more of a kitchen eg microwave for food brought home from dinner but other than that it's a great experience.
F.
Very nice room with a spectacular view of the lake. Cosy beds and good bathroom. Only funny thing.... I am traveling with my son, yet in our room there was a bottle of wine waiting for us with a happy anniversary card.... 😁
When we came back for the 2nd night the cleaning staff had made the cutest elephants out of towels and put them on the bed with a handwritten note to wish us a good trip. It's things like this, the small friendly human gestures that make the difference between a good and an excellent experience.
S.
Spent there a fantastic long weekend regardless the late winter, which was cold and very unstable. As Hilton members we got upgraded to a suite with lake views. First class concierge service and great cuisine. Very nice to ride water taxis to get to the town.
The location is very close to the airport and not immediately adjacent Queenstown, but is set in such a naturally beautiful spot that it's a pleasure to walk around and enjoy the Lake Wakatipu banks away from the crowds.
S.
Went for breakfast. Food was good. Service not so flash unfortunately. Gave some feedback and always room for improvement. Great setting on a nice day. Kids ran around outside while we had another coffee out in the sunshine.
M.
Loved our stay they treated use well and it was so hassle free. Highly recommend getting the breakfast on your package. Its great to wake up grab breakfast and then head up the mountains so close and awesome fairy service.
M.
A++, definitely one of the best hotels in Queenstown. It's super close to the airport which is nice, but this also means it is somewhat far from the main city area. Hilton counters this with a free shuttle service that departs fairly regularly as well as a water taxi that takes you into the best part of the city ($10 per ride - about 1/5 the cost of a taxi).
The rooms are top notch. Spacious with seating (sofa and chair) and massive bath rooms which are very luxurious. Our room had a fire place as well which was kind of cool.
We were in town for our honeymoon and the hotel had a complementary bottle of wine waiting for us when we entered which was an awesome surprise. Shortly after room service had delivered chocolates and water in addition to asking if we needed anything else.
Room service is what you would expect of a Hilton. No complaints. But the on perm. restaurant was beyond spectacular, wakatipu grill (sp). They have a few other less formal option on perm, but I did not have time to try them.
I would 100% recommend this hotel.
R.
Great place, large rooms with fireplaces, and quiet location. Love sipping drinks by the fire at Pinot Pit. Special shout out to Amit the bartender. One of my favourite things is the running/walking trail right outside the door. Paid parking at this out of town location is not appreciated though.
B.
They were good to us on our honeymoon. Our suite was nice and staff were lovely. However, a few mistakes were made during breakfast service and it's a little further from Queenstown than we would have wanted. Worth staying though.
M.
Very nice hotel, our room had a beautiful lake view. The steam room in the pool area was amazing. Flawless service!
m.
The hotel is great. We were here for 7 days and all the days the housekeeping did a great job. Parking was free for Hilton members. However there are limited space but you could park on the street. Nice view of lake Wakatipu from the room. The hotel is however a little away from the downtown and you could either take a water taxi or drive your car up there.
T.
The geographic location was interesting and breath taking. In the shower, but overall very happy with the room. Very convenient without being too close to the tourist crowds and traffic of the centre of town. The people at the hotel could …
H.
A lovely setting on the lake front with reasonably sized modern rooms. The staff are delightful - from small towel animals from housekeeping to very accommodating spa staff when we were running late. I recommend renting a car as the shuttle bus to Queenstown may not run when you need it, especially in the evening.
B.
A beautiful place. The house cleanliness need to improve
h.
Absolutely amazing service! All staff so friendly and helpful. Upgrade to the breakfast package! So much food in the buffet from bacon and eggs to museli to pancakes to the fruit and pastry station. So many times the staff went out of their way for us. Once to bring my kids a DVD player with a selection of movies so we could have a relaxing night in the room. Honestly amazing!!!
K.
We stayed in a lake view room with a spa on the ground floor. The location is a wee drive outside of the city centre but it's nice to be out of the chaos. There's a water taxi that will take you right into the town centre. Inside the room was lovely and comfortable. Outside, there's no light in the courtyard area so we had to use the torch on our cellphone to find our way into the spa. There was a delay in checking into our room as a light bulb needed to be changed. We left our luggage with concierge and were given a voucher for complimentary drinks at an onsite bar while we waited. We wandered back after an hour and were given our room key. The bulb hadn't been changed and it took another 1.5hrs and two phone calls for our luggage to be delivered. The couple of times I did seek out staff I've been left with more questions than answers. Hotel was great but service needs some work.
S.
Will definitely stay again enjoyed the swimming pool and spa upmost clean room lovely atmosphere all staff excellent 😊
d.
This place is awesome. Disappointed that we didn't get a lakeside view but our room was good and gas fire in the room was a bonus. We enjoyed a spa but the pool was a bit too cold considering its winter that was expected
D.
We had a misunderstanding and the guy in the front desk rectified it, bed is comfortable view is amazing water taxi to get across to town and the pool and spa is amazing let alone the buffet
A.
Great room, beautiful views, helpful staff and comfortable bed! I had stayed at hilton hotels before (perth and Adelaide) and beed disapointed. We booked a relaxatio suite with a private hot tub and it did not disapoint an amazing room! Parking was a bit expensive given the hotels distance from Queenstown but the water taxi is great! I would definitely stay again and will recommend everyone else does too.
K.
5 star service, extremely clean and very very nice. The rooms are a good size (we had a lakeside view room) and the bathroom is clean and massive. It was so nice we decided to have cheese and crackers with salad and wine for dinner whilst watching the sun set from our room. The only downside is that you have to pay nzd15 for valet parking. If not there is free self parking in the double tree Hilton next door. This was a great redemption from the amex platinum reserve card.
A.
Perfect hotel in a great location. While not in town the views here are amazing and its a nice quiet location. You can get a paid boat taxi to Queenstown or the free hotel shuttle which you need to book. Both the spa suites and 2 bed apartments are lovely. The pool area is perfect and the water warm. The Saunas were out of order for a week which was a little disappointing
J.
Very nice hotel, friendly staff, comfortable rooms. We had the spa room with a small two person hot tub in the patio. It had a very nice view and felt very private. The bathroom floors we heated, which I loved because I always have very cold feet. The only downside was that the road work right outside the hotel area interfered with traffic greatly. It took much longer than expected to drive into Queenstown or anywhere on the other side of the bridge. I think it would have been alright (since they do have a water taxi) if it hadn't been that we were also driving other people around who stayed in Queenstown and hadn't had a lot to plan and do (getting married).
J.
Such a comfortable 5 star hotel, the staff really go out of their way to look after you. T he bar man Clement is amazing, he is very talented when it comes to making any cocktail you want! The rooms are super clean as always with the Hilton and the breakfast was perfect after a night of heavy drinking!
N.
Beautiful place, excellent staff and great cookies. The only flipside is that it is cut away from the main city. Hourly water taxis operate but in my opinion it is not enough. The hotel should have buses every 30 mins
J.
Great hotel with outstanding views from outside. No decent power points or charging ports near bed for charging phones. Couch very small and promised balcony and view we paid extra for was tiny & not like the pics on website.
N.
Great experience staying here. It truly makes a relaxing holiday. Treat yourself and do it. Awesome restaurants. Unbelievable buffet breakfast. Lovely day spa. Can't be faulted. We stayed in the relaxation room - with our own private outdoor hot tub. If you get the chance... stay in that room. Absolutely lovely.
A.
This place was out of this world! By far the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed in! we paid for a luxury spa room with an outdoor spa overlooking the lake. The room was out of this world, dual sinks, giant spa in the room, king bed, floor heating, fireplace, coffee machine etc. Would defiantly recommend staying here! Staff were very very friendly and helpful. there is onsite parking as well as valet parking. We had the breakfast buffet the next day and it was fantastic, the options were huge!
J.
I loved the element of service that the friendly and helpful staff gave although being a smoker we were informed the whole property was smoke free even though there was a card in the room stating if you were a smoker to ring reception and they could accomodate our needs. Apart from this minor fault we loved our stay and will return on our next getaway.

:: Lakeside, Luxury and comfortable ::
The hotel is very large and very complex inside the building. You can get lost easily to and from your room to the restaurant during breakfast!
The room is very large and spacious with every luxury things you could expect from Hilton. I went there during late winter while the weather is still pretty cold but the automatic gas fireplace was very warm, not to mention the heated bathroom floor which is so comfortable.
However, the free WiFi is not too fast but usable.
The location is about 30 minutes from city centre but only 5 minutes to the airport. If you like to shopping and have a walk around town after dinner, this is not the place for you unless you have a car but if you prefer quiet and peaceful environment by the lakeside this is one of the best choices in Queenstown.
A.
Outside of town - there's a bus or a water taxi you can take to city center (around 10 each). The hotel was not very accommodating, no early check-in or late check-out. The fireplaces are nice. The views are great in lakeview rooms. Bathrooms have separate sinks, a shower and a tub, but only one piece of soap and one set of shampoo/conditioner/shower gel is provided, which seems like a deliberate money saving measure. I know it's trifling, but it's these types of seemingly trivial details that affect the overall impression and experience.
R.
Great stay nice hotel :) Stayed here 5 nights over 2 weeks abs absolutely loved the rooms especially lakeside residence rooms x
M.
Loved it here. Although a little out of town its not far by water taxi or hotel shuttle. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food good. We had a very tame duck visit us on our deck every morning. The views are amazing.
J.
Honestly..where do I start? The Hilton is probably the most value for.money I've come across. Lovely rooms with complimentary access to the hotel pool, gym and sauna. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have several different restaurants etc. Such a great place to come for a couple of nights break at a very reasonable price with plenty to keep you entertained without leaving the property. Highly recommend!
A.
We celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary at the HILTON Queenstown 11th November.
When we arrived we were greeted with such friendly staff we felt like we had been here before- although it was our first time . We were delighted to be told that we had been up-graded to a GORGEOUS Two bedroom apartment with fabulous views of the lake ! Our room was lovely & peaceful & the bed was SO comfy !!
Within half an hour of arriving we were surprised by the lovely Fran who brought us a bottle of Pinot Noir & a box of delicious handmade chocolates - compliments of Hilton!
We enjoyed the tasty buffet breakfasts & the water taxi to and from town was great too !!
But our favourite part was escaping to the Beautiful heated pool / sauna and spa area for a little R & R !!
We would like to thank you all for a FABULOUS stay Hilton Queenstown! But - mostly - thank you to your Wonderfully kind , caring and friendly staff !!
We are already looking forward to our next stay !! Thanks SO much
Anna-Maree and Peter Slijp

One of the highlights of our trip! Such an amazing place to be with beautiful rooms and remarkable customer service from the staff. They have various restaurants in the hotel to choose from so you will find something you like. Spa and swimming pool facilities are also available along with a gym. The rooms are really clean and have outstanding views of the remarkables mountains and also of Queenstown! Highly Recommended!
D.
Service was just excellent from reception to cleaning staff and restaurant, helpful informative and just great service.
We received an upgrade (paid for) to a.Spa Room on the Lakefront. This 2as jist the best.
H.
Fantastic venue with great staff. If you're having a conference you'll need to make arrangements to keep the house open past 10pm
s.
This is a fantastic hotel. The veiws are just too good to digest. The breakfast served too has a huge variety and delicious taste. Being my personal favourite, they have a fresh juice grinder for self use with an option of multiple fresh veggies and fruits to be used.
The pool area too is remarkable.
A.
The place was excellent with good service. The room was big and spacious. Bathroom had a big shower and a nice tub to soak in..
4 stars because parking is difficult with a limited number of available space in the parking lot. Had to park at the top of the steep hill..
A.
I loved that it's closer to the airport. I stayed there for 9 days, it felt like home at times hahha room is cleaned everyday, I would've loved my bed sheet and cover to get changed at least 3 times a week. I felt that the same bed sheet and cover were used everyday and didnt get changed. They only made look fresh, but it was the same bed sheet and covers for the entire week. Bit disappointed there, but having said that, everything else was great. I loved the swimming pool and spa area. As well as the bar and restaurant by the Lake.
G.
Very upscale hotel as one would expect from a Hilton brand and you'll definitely see it in the price! Amazing views overlooking Lake Wakatipu and the mountains so it was well worth it especially for our honeymoon. When we arrived in our room, we were welcomed with a nice congratulatory wine and macarons. Nice touch from the staff and very well appreciated!
ROOM & HOUSEKEEPING: We were a little disappointed to find that our room faces the courtyard and into another hotel room, but we were able to upgrade for the last couple nights of our stay overlooking the water and the mountains. The standard room was comfortable and nicely updated, though, so it served us well during the first few days. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and addressed our concerns right away (i.e. one of the sink was clogged and slow to drain, the tea bag had mold and tea kettle was not working properly). We found nice little gifts (chocolates and towel animals) and notes from the staff at the end of each day which made our stay that much more special.
TRANSPORTATION: Only about 10 min drive from the Queenstown Airport, and about 25 min ferry ride to the city center. The Queenstown Ferry docks right outside the hotel at $5 per person per ride. This is definitely the best and easiest way to get to town plus you get an amazing view of the mountains and the lake at all angles!
FOOD: Expensive and nothing special. As with any hotel restaurants, bars, and cafes, the Wakatipu Grill, Me and Mee, Stacks Bar, and The Lake Counter were no different. It would be better just to go to town. Would definitely not recommend buying the $39/person (or $29/person if you buy it at check-in) breakfast buffet at the hotel. Not worth it and you'd have better options in town for more reasonable price.
L.
Great location, beautiful resort, well maintained, however understaffed for peak demand.
B.
Loved everything about this resort!
The location is conveniently located close to the airport. It's set on a beautiful and peaceful lake with plenty of wildlife, surrounded by massive mountains.
The have several restaurants on the property and a bar.
Our room was absolutely perfect, being a Hilton Honors we were upgraded to a corner suite with balcony which made our stay even more special! The views are breathtaking!!!!
There have dock at the Hilton which has a Water taxi to Queenstown and only takes about 20 minutes.
The Price for the water taxi is $9 one way and $15 roundtrip but if you show them your Hilton room key card the price is only $5 one way or $10 roundtrip which is so worth it and an adventure by itself with amazing nature sceneries.
Their Breakfast buffet was great with fresh a made jucer and endless amount of food.
The entire staff were awesome from the moment we checked-in to check-out and they were a big part of what helped make our stay so unforgettable ❤
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
k.
We booked Hilton for our honeymoon and I must say they were worth every penny. The house keeping setup our rooms in the most romantic way and left us a motivational quote regarding marriage everyday. We had a fantastic view from the hotel and could not ask for a better honeymoon stay

Best place on earth for a family holiday, so comfortable with all the essentials you barely think of home. the kids loved the towel animals left on their beds after a long day of adventure. Few days after we got back we booked again for 6 months time. Can't wait to come back

Very nice hotel! Excellent in views, room cleaness, and service. The design are quite stylish as well. The only downside is traffic to airport. No bus or shuttle, and difficult to find uber service! There is a ferry to Queenstown CBD, but not to airport.
P.
It is a very comfortable and balanced hotel with good facilities. The service and stafff are good and the room clean and comfortable. I like staying at the Hilton. Recommended
R.
Nice hotel. Property well-maintained. Breakfast is exceptional. Used two of the hotel restaurants during the stay....both were good dinners. Fairly near a grocery (25-min walk) or you can use the hotel 'quick-shop' (1-min walk). Trip into town? Use the hotel shuttle (free) or the local boat-taxi (10 NZD each way).
G.
Friendly and accommodating staff. Our suite had direct access out to the lake shore and walking track. Situated in a quieter area of the lake makes this feel like more of a resort than a hotel. Plenty of good and varied dining options available
s.
Made to feel very welcome upon arrival with a smile from young lady behind the desk, Service throughout my stay could not be faulted , Lovely room and attentive staff,
I will be back :)
Thank you
V.
Had lunch only there but very nice
J.
Luxurious hotel with good facilities. Swimming pool, spa, restaurants and bar all within the complex. Rooms are spacious and bed is most comfortable
E.
This hotel is a great Hilton property, but the location really isn't ideal. Everything here is pretty much par for the Hilton course. I don't think I'd stay here again though. It's very far from downtown Queenstown. There is a water taxi which takes 30 minutes to get downtown. The ride is nice but the last return taxi is at 10pm. There's a hotel shuttle at 11pm but it was completely full. All in all a nice hotel in a terrible location.
S.
Stunning hotel and location. Friendly staff and high standards of cleanliness. Only downside for us was having to put down a $200 bond on arrival which we weren’t aware of which then takes 3 business days to show back in your account after you check out.
A.
Very professional staff and luxurious stay. Was immediately spoilt when I got there as our rooms weren't ready so was provided free beverages at the bar. Room was clean and immaculate. Facilities were clean and tidy. Not far from Queenstown CBD which is great.
L.
Amazing Stay!!
Lovely Hotel, friendly staff& awesome experience all in One. Thank you Hilton Queenstown for making our stay a very special & memorable one 💖
F.
Very comfortable & clean & new hotel. Location is a little bit far from town centre. ( 15 - 20 mins drive) but it is great you like to be away from crowds & town. 1 min walk to the private like lake beach. 3 restaurants in Hilton Village. So, no need to go to town for meal sometimes.
R.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is situated a little far from the town of Queenstown but the location is nice and provides a nice view of the lake and surrounding mountains. Some of the hallways and rooms need better upkeep but overall it is a nice hotel.
T.
Great hotel. Nice scenery. Very comfortable. Excellent rooms and amenities. Only problem is it's far from town but the water taxi to get there is cheap.
C.
I have stayed here with my family 4 years in a row now and we love it. The breakfast buffet is great. Lovely location and the Wakatipu Grill is fantastic. We also enjoy the indoor pool. The reason that this hotel does not get 5 stars is because the standard internet is slow and decent internet access costs extra which is not very convenient and should be complimentary
T.
I was stunned at the quality of the hotel and the room was just phenomenal. The staff really went out of their way to make sure I had an incredible time. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. I will definitely come back when I need a relaxing break.
S.
Just got back from a 5 day stay here. Beautiful accommodation. Well maintained rooms and fantastic heated floors in the bathroom. Precor workout room that is clean. Pool and spa were great to use after a long day on the slopes. The kids eat free at the restaurants for lunch/dinner so we ended up at the pub a few nights while we were there. Food was great.
Great location if you want to ski at the Remarkables. It is only 4k from the turnoff to the mountain. A bit of a schlep to Queenstown but there are plenty of water taxis/shuttles so it isn't really a bother. Near the New World Grocery store and airport which made arriving and getting situated super easy.
G.
Get the lake facing room with spacious deck and away from the pub then it will b quiet at night. Great service with personalized touch. Only downside is Swimming pool n hot tub will be noisey due to kids yelling and shouting. They should really open another pool for kids only.
T.
You must stay here Awesome resort, amenities and staff. Thr location is great. I quickly dried off, got dressed and headed up to the lobby, where they had a room full of customers who had not been informed of the planned power shut off. Beautiful surroundings and scenery.

While on a road-trip around the South Island, we stumbled across this brand new property (at the time) run by Hilton known as Kawarau - we couldn't believe our eyes when we saw the prices, and had to book a room for a night while we spent time in Queenstown.
We didn't really want to stay in town, since we preferred to avoid really touristy places, so staying on the edge of town appealed to us. When we arrived, we discovered that even if you wanted to stay in town, Kawarau would be a great place anyway as they have a regular taxi-boat service into town.
Being managed by Hilton meant that service was excellent from the time we arrived until the time we left. There was some confusion as to which amenities we were allowed to access or not given that it wasn't the main hotel, and based on our tariff, but we didn't mind.
We stayed in room 111 in building 2, which is situated on the front of the property facing the water. The room we had was tiny, and clearly geared up for the winter season rather than for summer, including a completely useless balcony, but the views were lovely (even from the bathroom), and the living room and bedroom spaces were nicely proportioned.
The rooms seem to be well soundproofed and have all the mod-cons, but unfortunately while we were there clearly everything was a little too new as the room was engulfed in a plastic or glue smell, and WiFi and TV reception was extremely poor. We certainly felt like we were the first to use the room though as absolutely nothing showed any signs of wear-and-tear, so this surely wouldn't be a concern for guests now.
If you're heading to Queenstown for a skiing holiday and you want the comfort, and the beauty, with town centre at arm's length, this place is probably for you.
Stayed January 2013.

A lovely hotel with helpful staff and brilliant rooms. We spent the night in Milford Sound between two nights at this hotel, and the hotel was happy to look after our bags for us whilst we were away. The hotel is across the river from Queesntown, but there is a $10 per person water taxi, or a free shuttle bus.
M.
Very sweet crew. We went there on honeymoon. They left us some gifts when we arrived. The room service left us nice written messages every day. The restaurants in the hotel are good, and the lakeside is very nice for a morning walk.
l.
Hotel is very clean, so nice view, very good service and nice but no free parking at the hotel and have to pay the parking fee.
b.
Have not stayed at Hilton Queenstown but have visited many times for different reasons. Have a nasty view for a surprising large amount of rooms (concrete retaining wall) the lobby is poorly lit and often found staff to be distant and dismissive. On one occasion I walked around lobby area for nearly 10min before a staff member approached and asked if I needed help which has never happened to me in a five star or even four star hotel.
S.
Very well looked after, absolutely no problems, and they sorted all our travel and everything. Great facilities, beautiful restaurant and terrific views. Free bus to town and $10 ferry available too. Taxi ride 20 minutes from town. Roughly $45.
M.
Great hotel that’s close enough to Queenstown but far enough from the chaos. The team at Hilton we’re fantastic! The housekeeping team left us lovely notes on a daily basis. Also a great spot to stay if you’re going to the Remarkables.
N.
Very nice rooms - room was quite spacious (more like a junior suite) with a fireplace and seating area. Parking was a bit funky as it was a little down the road under the Doubletree. I know this is an odd thing, but really liked the multigrain bread at breakfast (wish I could find it at home somewhere).
S.
Stayed in Hilton Queenstown resort and doubletree for one night each. Would like to rate 6 stars if possible!
Hotel rooms are new and clean, no bad smell at all. Facilities includes bar, dinning (western and Asian), gym, heated pool, sauna and shuttle bus to/from the city centre. There is also a local cinema for guests.
The resort is located opposite the city center across the lake, which makes it quiet for a relaxing stay. You can enjoy all facilities above free of charge, that’s when you stay in Hilton. If you stay in doubletree and you are a diamond member, you will enjoy the sauna and pool for free as well.
Breakfast is great, a wide range of food selections: Asian food like congee and fried rice/spring rolls, Indian, American/continental breakfast. It also serves nice crispy American bacon which made us really happy. Staff members are friendly and attentive to your requests all the time.
The best part of the stay here is because of the accommodating staff members. Prior the stay I called the hotel and mentioned it’s my partners Australian citizenship celebration, upon arrival we received free upgrade to lake view suit (Hilton) and deluxe lake view room (doubletree). In room we found a complimentary bottle of wine and macaroons for the celebration, and even a nice customised card with congratulations. The hotels attention to details and generosity made the start of the journey unforgettable.
All staffs we met are smiling from their heart and made you feel you are a family. Names I can recall are Amandeep (reception), Karoline (room services), Yuta (shuttle service) and Sukhmindjer (Doubletree) who went beyond and took care of our request (drying my jeans at 1am) without a hassle.
I’ve stayed in different Hilton brand hotels in different countries and this is the best among all — appreciate everything, and I highly recommend you to stay here.
F.
Overall happy, feel safe and clean staying in this Hilton hotels n resorts.
M.
Fantastic place to stay, top service
L.
Stayed for two nights on a deal. Lakeside view was great. Love the pool and spa!
T.
Great Service as always! Dinner was amazing!
R.
Fantastic place to stay, comfy beds and great service. Only thing missing were spoons in the room to stir your coffee
A.
Friendly and welcoming staff and lovely hotel. Great facilities and rooms. Love staying at this hotel.
T.
The place was amazing. The ocean was so beautiful as well as the scenery. The food was also good. The Hilton hotel would be the best hotel I have ever stayed at. I would certainly come back to queens town in the near future.
K.
Stayed here numerous times and every time it’s been great, nice views, great rooms and staff. Actually love the fact it’s outside of Q central.
A.
loved the place very single bit of it. Got relaxation room which has outdoor spa , OMG it was amazing. their wakatipu bar and grill was amazing, plus other pub and bar was great as well. dint feel to go out of hotel to enjoy queenstown at all. their pool was nice as well . location is good as well.
c.
For a high up 5 star hotel you'd expect alot better
Worse of all they charge you a high price for parking and wifi which should be free with payment of prices get for a hotel room the rooms are OK the view average for lake view king room 4th different hotel stayed in queenstown and the cheaper less quality ones were far nicer better views free parking and internet etc but other then that good spot etc
A.
Great hotel. Not the best as other 5 stars hotel we stayed but pretty good.
Only downside I would suggest to improve, is to have maybe more options for room service.
T.
Highly recommend staying here. It was quiet when we were there due to Covid-19 decimating the market but it is my go to place in ZQN.
Wakatipu Grill has excellent food, Stacks is good for a few beers and with a water taxi to down town then what can go wrong?
T.
We had a fantastic stay at this lovely hotel. The Hilton is some 10 Km from the town centre and is much more peaceful although it is close to the airport and there are quite a lot of large jets flying in and out during the day. Water taxi into Queenstown a bonus as is the hotel shuttle.
N.
Great rooms Fantastic helpful staff
P.
Nice hotel - view great views and good onsite restaurants. It is a little out of town, you really need a car to get the best out of this location - there is a water taxis into queenstown central business area, which is a nice trip. The rooms are typical of a Hilton. The staff are very good and helpful - the food and beverage onsite is good - but a little pricey!
D.
A wow experience, spectacular view lakeside, helpful and friendly staff, useful variable amenities. Got treated like a real guest in their home. Very satisfied with Hilton. Thank You
M.
Great, loved our stay. Lake side location very well appointed. Pleasant professional staff.
C.
Very accommodating and family friendly. Lovely setting, lovely food and just an over all beautiful hotel.
R.
Hilton Queenstown is settled lakeside and boasts spectacular views, several dining options on the property and great apartment style room layouts. Service is very good, experienced some instances with front desk not answering , not a big issue. Great value and location.
A.
Had an amazing stay at the resort. Rooms are good and spacious. We had the one with a balcony. The pool area is well heated and amazing pool, steam and sauna.
D.
Lovely hotel and great facilities. Brandon at reception is a life saver giving all the recommendations and goto places. Coking back next time I come to Queenstown.
S.
Room was nice and the bed was comfy. We got "upgraded" to the Hilton from the Double Tree. Free WiFi was slow. Breakfast buffet was nice if a little pricey.
E.
Amazing location and village, what you'd expect from a 4🌟 hotel.
However, parking or lack of is an issue and TV/Sky is low quality compared to other 5🌟 hotels.
Very happy with our room and view.
S.
The hotel was amazing .
The location is perfect , although it's not in the heart of queenstown . It allows you to see the views as your driving down to the shops .
The room was very clean the staff was very nice and the over all experience was amazing highly recommend to stay at this hotel
T.
Lovely room, enjoyed the spa attached to our apartment. Good service, though they did want to contest the package we'd bought and our entitlement to breakfast. They did sort it out (and apologise) though. I'd happily stay here again.
C.
The room is beautiful, but the location is awful. It's 15-20 minutes from Queenstown core. The complex is under construction. We are gold members and was upgraded to a lake view room. The room is spacious and had a sitting room with a fire place that we made full use.
T.
The food is only of OK quality but we did have great service at the pub. What a great facility. Location perfect as a stones drop away from Queenstown CBD. A great place to stay if you have been to Queenstown before but if not I'd suggest staying right in town.
D.
Lovely location despite being out of Queenstown. Water taxi ($10 one way), or free shuttle. Quiet rooms, lovely, friendly staff modern comfortable building. A good range of venues, bars, pub, grill etc.
m.
Very nice hotel, but too far from the center of town. While the hotel offers a free shuttle to and from, it had limited seating and only runs on the half hour and hour. We had a large tour group and many were unable to get into rien until later in the morning.
c.
We stayed at Hilton for 4 nights and thorougly enjoy the experience. Bed was comfortable, tastefully decorated room, good amenities with pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, free shuttle to town and professional and friendly staff.
N.
Such a beautiful location but it has great customer service, all the staff from reception to housekeeping were fantastic and our room was so accommodating and comfortable with an amazing view. Thank you Hilton Queenstown me and my family loved our stay!!!!
A.
It's a really good hotel if you have a lake view room. But location is not that great and almost 15 min drive from the town center. I will recommend everyone to stay in town center
J.
Place is clean. valet parking was $20 for 24hours and free car parks wasn't enough. you can small view over the window and can be loud at night if you're room is next to the bar and restaurant
T.
Great spot, indoor pool is amazing. Lovely service.
S.
Expected a lot more from a 5-Star Hilton hotel. Clean, well-maintained and a good lake view, but door got jammed and had to go back to reception 3 times (they had to call a maintenance guy and offered a complimentary drink voucher at a pub which was just outside the hotel) and the housekeeping service was not done even though requested before heading out.
P.
Nice? Sure. Worth the price? Probably not. The Hilton provides an ok experience but nothing to write home about for the price. For the same money you can find better accommodation elsewhere without constant addons. The best part? Taking the water taxi to Queenstown and back.
We enjoyed our stay but will stay elsewhere next time.
E.
Stayed in 2 bedroom suite. Loved the fireplace and full kitchen amenities. Tranquil place, lakefront and good view of Queenstown city from across the lake. Wished I had the time to take the hotel's boat shuttle to Queenstown.
L.
Location is nice but disappointed with the services.
They took 25 mins to deliver a water bottle at room service.
The staff looks like not trained properly or new staff. The centralized heating was too high.
c.
Very nice place to stay, great location, great rooms and restaurants.
T.
My 2nd time here in queenstown, BEAUTIFUL place to stay. I really enjoyed my stay here customer service and workers at this place a 5star. Very professional and sincere with there service highly recommended place to stay
N.
Location is great. Facilities are good. We were let down by a couple of instances in room service and quality of furnishings, in a way I'd not expect for a large hotel chain. I gave feedback on check out.
