We were surprised how this older city hotel delivered comfort even for an economy room. Excellent furnishings- very comfortable bed. Great shower, a pillow service for those missing their pillow at home. Friendly staff and good but slow lifts.

I was so impressed with how friendly the staff were. Every staff member at the front desk, at the bar and around the hotel was so welcoming and accommodating. They were more than happy to help and very prompt with following up on our requests. The AC system in the room was also amazing to have over those hot summer days. Would definitely stay here again.

Really enjoyed our stay there on the Christmas weekend with my kids and partner, great service by Sam when we check in, room was nice and comfortable and the breakfast was nice and fresh. Also the staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you guys for making our little holiday enjoyable 💚, will stay there again.

Good clean hotel - good value for money. Nice location within Wellington CBD - close to all required amenities. Staff at reception are friendly and provide assistance in their best possible way when needed. A restaurant is there within the complex and it is ok. This hotel met all our overnight Wellington stay.

We travel to Wellington regularly and for the past 20 years have always stayed at the James Cook Grand Chancellor , however this weekend we were turned away by them because one of our party did not have a vax pass (suffered vax injury after first vaccination). We phoned around and the Ibis was happy to accommodate us. We will never forget you for your kindness and lack of discrimination and will return the favor by always returning to the Ibis in the future. The staff were friendly and accommodating, hotel was nice and clean, restaurant attached and room service, comfortable beds and helped us with parking.

Good spot central Wellington. Parking below. Clean fresh rooms with great shower. Easy access. Restaurant below. Recommended esp if catching a ferry.

Great location, best service. We had an issue with a clogged wash basin and when reported, the lady quickly came up to check. As it seemed like a plumbing issue, she apologized and upgraded us to a better and better room. Hence, the 5 star 🌟 👍

Nice room and a super comfy bed. But the place is lacking sound proofing and the air-conditioning unit is temperamental. Otherwise a great stay.

This hotel is value for money however, expect to have some things not working or available. Air con is temperamental at times but provides sufficient Temperature. Service can be poor at times and is not consistent, having replace soap etc at odd times, and bed making seemed rough some days. Breakfast is the best menu by far. I would recommend the big breakfast. I would have preferred a vegetarian big breakfast option. The lunch menu is by far better than the dinner menu as well as the dinner food made me sick the whole stay and inconsistent to what is written in the menu to what you receive. This hotel is useful as it is central and convenient for nearby locations. There are so many staff that no one actually knows what to do or take charge.

Overall good but some minor irritants. I visited in Oct 2021, under Covid level 2 norms. Location: good Check-in: quick Room cleanliness: excellent Negatives / irritants: 1. There is no buffet breakfast. Tea and juice are charged in addition to the food. 2. The hot breakfast has meat items such as bacon. I requested that meat items be substituted by vegetarian items such as hash browns or tomato. This wasn't done. However, the price charged was the same as 'normal'. [I can understand that hospitality industry has suffered due to Covid, but I would expect some small adjustments for dietary or other reasons]. 3. Room amenities include shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, but NOT moisturizing cream! These irritants mean I will certainly try another hotel at Wellington when I visit next.

I stayed here for work this time but have stayed here before whilst on holiday. It is central to everything, has parking available, is clean and tidy (although I did notice some areas of the room don't appear to have been deep cleaned for a while) and affordable. The bed is super comfy. The staff are really nice (special thanks to Michael in Reception and Kim in the Restaurant) and the location is perfect. A great choice for a short stay in the City. Thanks Ibis Team. I will be back again. 😁👍

Right in the heart of the city which Is perfect for seeing everything the CBD has to offer. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was yummy and worth pre paying for ease each morning. Initially thought the bed was going to be too soft but had three great night's sleep on it so no complaints there. Pre book parking if you can and be aware there is a 2m height limit to get in, we would have struggled to find parking if we hadn't booked through ibis. Will definitely stay again!

Stayed for two nights. Nice clean rooms. Good service by house keeping. Struggled with street parking. They don't have parking on the premises. Basement parking all full throughout weekend. A small microwave is required in queens room. No way to heat up anything. No drinking water facility either. Location very convenient to popular places.

It is really just ok. The staff was super friendly and helpful but when we got there they had lost my parking booking and the lady next to me's entire booking. The rooms were clean and tidy and the room cleaners were super nice. But it is still just a tiny room with the basics. There prices are not bad, so if you are looking for a clean, comfortable, friendly place to stay for not to much, this is a good option.

Been here multiple times for work. The rooms are what you want when you book a work hotel. Reliable. And the service is great. They don't talk your ear off, they're quick and courteous.

Great room on 8th floor. Comfy bed. Good work desk in front of the window. Plenty of light. Helpful front desk team. I needed to add an extra night and they sorted that quickly and got a good rate. Also helped with laundry. Good guest laundry for only $2.00 for a washer and another $2.00 for the dryer.

We walked in off the street for buffet breakfast - it was delicious and great value for money. Cooked and continental options, coffee machine and juices available. Plenty of seating space as well. It was great as there weren't any other places open for breakfast in the area.

Jumped off the interislander, straight into our rooms. Ordered room service and was blown away! The food was spectacular! The baked Brie was amazing and the presentation of the banoffee dessert was outstanding like 5 star quality! Didn’t really expect that! Will definitely stay again!

Although parking is difficult, the Hotel is great. Especially if you just want to go in and relax. The buffet breakfast is amazing, but we couldn't get buffet due to Covid. Great experience. Will visit Ibis again.

Good place to stay for a short whe. In the heart of the city.

Clean but not very modern, cheap and nasty shower door that doesn't close and shelf that is about to fall off. Room service only cleans room after 2pm. Breakfast average, coffee is nasty. OK for a safe business stay in the CBD.

Price wise it is quite reasonable. We had a double Queen. The room comes with no frills, very basic but tidy and clean. The pillows were really nice, the bed was not the best. The breakfast buffet seemed a bit pricey but we felt that it was fair for all it offered. The staff was very friendly. Mecca, and other shops are 5 Min walk. It's right in the centre of CBD. Location wise it's perfect. Right outside the hotel, there are cafes. Wilson parking is at 1 Min drive and 2 Min walk. Actually there are more than one Wilson parkings in walking distance. Water front is less than ten minutes walk.

Our stay was ok. Staff were friendy. Very limited towels in the room. No shower mat or hand towel and no spare toilet rolls. Also only one wine glass. And no hair dryer. I guess you get what you pay for. Probably won't be back.

The air con was running all night, we couldnt turn the stupid thing off with out pulling the key card out which in turn, turned all of our power off. Terrible night sleep because of it and way over priced for the expericence! 2 weeks of hotels and i would rate this one at the bottom.

Ok for the price point. We hd a tiny room not much bigger than the bed. Facilities getting tired, our toilet gets stuck on flushing, room dated. No remote for TV despite asking and being in for multiple nights. Service average.

Clean and tidy rooms. Great service but need to checks alarms on clocks. Ours went off unexpectedly at 12.00am. Very annoying when very tired and having an early start the next day

Ok if you’re rich and can afford to eat out, no bowls for self breakfast the coffee machine made a great shoot black but if you liked milk it made it cold. Not very many plugs … and finally no parking unless you’re happy paying $45 a day!

Have been here a few times for work. Nice and central. Night shift receptionist wasn’t very helpful but besides that brilliant breakfast buffet.

Its a nice place to stay in the heart of city of Wellington. On street meter parking avail. From 6pm - 8am free parking. Close to go everywhere. Food lots of place to choose from and their breakfast also nice. If you are a member of Accor Hotel you will get surprise discount when you pay at the hotel but it is not showing when you booked. Thank you Accor Hotel Group for the surprise discount. Parking on hotel site also available for a fee of $32. Definitely will stay back to Ibis Wellington if we visit Wellington again.

Rooms are perfect, just the toilet was too close to the wall. Need more parking for guests as parking on the street is not ideal for rental cars. Due to the time we traveled, their was alot of construction going on, no problem with noise, just the fact you walk out to alot of machinery. Staff are very lovely and very helpful 😊

Stayed here for a work stop over while working night shift so had to sleep during the day. The room I had, had black out curtains which made the room dark during the day which is exactly what I was looking for.

A sound hotel with a quaint bar and coffee service. Rooms are funchional and fit for purpose, bed comfort was excellent as were pillows. Staff were helpful and courteous. Didn't use breakfast service but at $28 per person it's not bad VFM compared to other countries

Room was very clean great communication with the staff the only thing is there wasn't enough staff on for the restaurant but the only girl on did a great job in dealing with customers would recommend the ibis to anyone to stay

I have stayed several times at the Ibis. It is very convenient, help staff, secure parking, good value, nice room, views of Welly. Lots of good restaurants and cafes within 2 minutes walking. Booking is easy and flexible. It stood up ok in the recent earthquake, no small thing! I told the staff we were celebrating a big birthday, they upgraded our room, very nice.

Good location with all facilities working but rooms are very tired. Breakfasts okay but not heated properly- I don't like like warm bacon and eggs.

Lovely staff and quiet rooms. One of the affordable hotels in Wellington. The parking cost 30 $ / day and is small so if you want a place, please don't check it too late. Otherwise, parking is free in the Wellingron streets between 6 PM and 8 AM.

Nothing fancy. Shower door didn't shut properly. Heater was noisy as. Bed was ok.

Great place to sleep and visit wellington. Don't expect luxury or cleanliness because that's what you won't pay for. Parking in the building is limited, so you need to call first and make sure they reserve you a spot. It costs 30 NZD per night.

I had the BEST 4 day stay at Ibis Wellington for the Eminem concert - 3 adults. Vivant restaurant was a great place to eat, never so packed that it couldn’t accomodate the hotel guests (unlike another Wellington CBD hotel we had stayed at), had buffet breakfast included in room price. Would probably not pay for as an extra per person, so look for the rates with it incl. Great staff, room was clean and practical for our stay. Location is perfect. Convenience store across the rd. Taxis at the door. Cable car, retail stores, mcdonalds and a small supermarket a couple of streets over. Within walking range of great eateries. Ample parking avail on surrounding streets if you miss a space at the hotel. Staff were always so welcoming and full of information/local knowledge (eg: carpark was fully booked one night and we were given multiple alternative parking options with prices and time limits etc.). I would happily visit again. Had a much better stay here than at Rydges Wellington. Pity no free internet. However we were given complimentary 1gb which made it a bit better :).

Room with king Size bed but room very small. Only one chair. Shower less than phone box size. Water goes from hot to cold then hot again in shower. Only 2 medium size bath towels no hand towels. Wi fi in room not free. No room service may order 24/7 but have to go and collect when ready. It is budget hotel but are budget hotels of similar price with better facilities Opinion only but bright orange doors to room down corridor Yuk. Better colour would be restful colour like green. On plus side staff helpful and friendly. From choice would not stay again.

Clean and functional rooms, beds are comfortable, bath area is small but clean and well equipped. Very friendly staff, especially housekeepingwho are always ready with a smile and a hello. Good filling breakfast is available in the restaurant, which also has excellent food of a night. More than adequate accommodations for an extended stay of a week or more.

Having stayed at ibis Christchurch I had some expectations from the chain. Room is small and cosy as per the pricing that is to be expected. Paid wifi in this day and age seemed strange to me but I used my data. It’s not expensive for $10 but I still feel that is something which should be complimentary. Enjoyed the Tv watching Comedy Central and was happy it was readily available. Breakfast the next day was pretty decent as well. I would love to see more baked items as was delivered by Christchurch branch. One thing that I really hated was the analog climate controls, really hard to get the temperature right causing trouble sleeping initially, once set to my liking I slept like a baby thanks to the comfy bedding. Last but not least the room and toilets are clean and made good use of iron and ironing board provided. I love the proximity to the nearby restaurants, offices, shops and the docks.

Never stayed here..but they gave me access to their washing machine & dryer while I stayed at the Novotel Hotel..$2 per wash..$2 for the dryer(45minutes) The receptionist was very friendly & let me & my family dine in their restaurant until our clothes were done.

I have stayed at IBIS in the past and rooms were excellent and is a great location. Perfect for a staycation, if you live further afield in the Wellington region but just want a place to stay, after a nice meal in the city and you don't want to drive home. We currently use the IBIS for a network group and they have given their 100% to accommodate our needs. Great food and the staff are so fantastic to deal with. Great location in central Wellington and good bed but not worth the $369 per night paid for std room with poor outlook, tired decor and average cleanliness. No mini bar, limited number of accessible power points, no usb power.

A very decent place to stay. Not too far from the city centre. My room as a queen bedroom was enough space for one and well kept. Staff were friendly and helpful Reasons they didn't get 5 stars: No mini bar No robe provided Breakfast is a paid extra (and not cheap)

We spent three nights at this hotel as the last leg of our tour. Honestly, the rooms felt like home. All the staff at the hotel were welcoming and very helpful. The whole property is extremely clean. All in all a good hotel in a good location with great transport connections.

Beds really comfortable. Location is fantastic for City and Waterfront access. Restaurant quite reasonably priced however the "hot" breakfast was warm at best depending on how long the food had been sitting in the warmers for. Internet connection was hit and miss throughout hotel with frustrating speeds or dropouts - they need to get this fixed.

Great location, clean, but could use a refresh We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Wellington. It is a nice, central location. The hotel itself is conveniently located within walking distance to many local attractions. We love staying at a hotel or inn where you don't need to rent a car or even take a cab. Despite rainy weather when we were here, it was easy to get around town, grab dinner at the pier, and see some local sites. Rooms were clean and un-fussy, but the carpet was thin which gave this an overall feeling of needing a bit of an update. The staff was pleasant and loaned us electrical converters for our smartphones. We did not eat on the premises as there were plenty of wonderful restaurants nearby.

Great service, comfy bed, room with a view of town on two sides, sky tv and all the little goodies. Very good price! Was less than what it would have costed to stay at the holiday park! All we needed to rest our eyes before our early morning trip up north.

Decent place. The staff were absolutely lovely and the highlight for me. the rooms are tiny unless you go for the largest and even then the bathrooms are tiny. Breakfast buffet is good for the price however the overall cost of the hotel is overpriced for the quality of the room/amenities.

We were here for a conference. Pleasant staff and fairly standard, large chain hotel. Handy for staying in town and visiting the sights. We had the $12 breakfast, which was more than enough for us. Although the bacon did smell divine... Parking was a tad of an expensive surprise as we hadn't booked ourselves. But, I suppose it's in line with big city costs.

Well situated hotel in the city, lacks style and feels over due for a refurb, esp given you have one power socket in the room! Bed was comfy however, rooms small. No on site parking, even though it's advertised.

Just had my fifth stay here and there was a card and chocolate waiting for me in my room. That is a very nice touch. The Ibid is centrally located with clean and comfortable rooms. The TV worked well (I have frequently found hotel TV's are often poor quality with a horrible "hotel-specific" remote, but not here). The restaurant has good food if you don't want to go for a wander, although there are loads of eateries in the vicinity if you do. The bar area is quite small. Recommended.

It was a very pleasant stay as always with ibis. Very welcoming upon arrival. It was basic, normal wear and tear, which is expected. But the room was clean and tidy. Not right in the cbd but good location. 1 min talk to the bus stop and to/from the airport.

Basic hotel room, should be more like $120 a night you get everything you need. The rooms just could do with a bit of an update. Staff were friendly and bed was comfy, would stay here again if it wernt for the $180 cost

The location is good, but that's where it ends. The room was very small, and a little outdated. For the price I would expect more. Service was very slow, and flat. Restaurant was okay, but again the price was high for the quality of food. Probably wouldn't stay here again. It is what it says, a 3 star hotel in a good location

This has always been my home away from home in Wellington. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. They have a great breakfast buffet.

We had an online deal that included breakfast. The buffet breakfast and restaurant below were top notch. We had brilliant meals each night and at a reasonable price. The facilities were clean comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would definitly return! Thank you.

For the price this weekend it's quite good, although sometimes the novotel (pretty close) or mercure can be had for not too much more. Location is great, only 3 minutes or so to the cable car station and a lovely stroll on the water to Te Papa or the museum of Wellington. Kids currently done free at breakfast with a paying adult, the selection isn't too bad but not as nice as some other Ibis properties. Our room was clean and whilst a little on the small side, definitely usable. As a bonus the bathroom pod style thing present at some properties isn't here. Would stay again if I couldn't get another according property close to the same price.

Clean room. Good space and has an ironing board and iron which is good for business people traveling. Good bathroom facilities. But room feels little stuffy and windows cannot be opened. Makes it feel little claustrophobic. Other than that it's a decent place.

Very nice and clean, little bit expensive tho. The parking was a hussle because all there private parking was fully booked (which cost $24 per day) so we had to park in the next best place they could offer which was sooo far (not nice when it's far and u gotta walk back and forth with your children and it's very cold outside) - that cost $30 per 24 hours. Over all it's a nice safe place to be in the city.

For an Ibis, this is exceptional. Great location, great parking, and great breakfasts. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Let's face it if you're holidaying to stay in your hotel all day you wouldn't come to an Ibis, but this was a great place to base yourself while in Wellington.

Very nice room. Great concierge staff. Just let down by slow restaurant and staff losing part of my order. I'd stay there again because it is in the centre of town. But look elsewhere for meals.

The hotel is moderately priced. It is right downtown Wellington. The rooms are clean and modern. The negative issue for me is that there is no convenient parking. I had to park our car 10 minutes walk away. It cost 30 NZD for overnight parking. There are a few narrow parking spaces in the basement of the building but you have to reserve in advance. You also have to pay 10 NZD for WIFI. Needless to say breakfast costs extra.

Very pleasant hotel to stay in, clean room and bathroom, welcoming staff. A bit pricey parking - $25 per night and not enough spaces - so were forced to do on-street parking, luckily it’s free at night time. Maybe I should mention that $25 is a price for a night in 3* hotel in Baltic countries, but who cares.

Had a few drinks and a catch up with my mate here. The staff were very friendly, humorous, knowledgeable and a blast to talk with. The venue gave a warm cozy vibe and 100% contributed to the great night afterwards. A tad on the expensive side but experience more than made up for it

Stayed 2 nights 15-16 January , Staff very friendly and helpful specially the smiley Indian guy with lens who do the room service chicken wrap and brownie on 16 Th night was really awesome and the brownie was well presented with flower shaped strawberry was really lovely... would recommend it..,its strange to hear from him that he is doing double shift on that day in two departments and he don't seems tired or sleepy at morning that was really appreciated and he is so helpful in each and every thing . Room very comfortable and very clean. Would be very happy to stay there again.

As expected from the IBIS brand, the room is tidy, clean and comfortable. The location is great, close to the waterfront, a 5 minute walk from the shopping area and only a 15 minute walk from the zone where most restaurants are located. There are only two shortcomings that I would flag - the most important one in my opinion is that Wi-Fi access is not complimentary, but requires a $10 payment (shouldn't be hard to offer it for free nowadays...); the second one is that electrical plugs have a safety switch very close to the contacts, which makes it impossible to use any international adapter that is not small in size. I believe these two points are only relevant for international travellers, but wanted to highlight them nonetheless.

Had a lovely time at the Ibis. My parents stayed also and we had rooms next to each other which was fantastic. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great location and food was fab as well. Would stay again 💖

Right downtown! Good menu for food and drinks, close to more restaurants and bars. 5 min walk from "fork and brewer" (great place with many location brewed beers) reserve parking early or you will be out on the street and wifi is 10 bucks per day. Updated interior, very clean. Would reccomend.

Stayed 5 nights 10-14 January inclusive with my 9- and 10-year old sons. Kids buffet breakfasts set my boys up and myself for the day. Staff very friendly and helpful. No 'outside' noise to disturb sleep at night. Just about everything we wanted to see - shops, Te Papa, Cable Car, ANZ Stadium, Cuba St, minibus to Zealandia, waterfront were all in easy walking distance. Oodles of bars, restaurants, cafes, take aways within just a block or two walk. Room very comfortable and very clean. On-site parking (book ahead!) very handy. Would be very happy to stay there again.

You get what you pay for. And if you're looking for a decent room at a decent price then Ibis girls are that. The staff at the Wellington Ibis made check in a breeze and we're extremely helpful when I booked a car park in the basement parking area. They were knowledgeable about the surrounding area and suggested some great places to take the kids. It's not a 5 star hotel, and doesnt pretend to be, although it seems some reviewers expected that. The best thing about the Ibis in Wellington is that you're right downtown, walking distance from the beehive, te papa, and lots of other fun things. Would stay again. 😀

Ok, its what you may expect for the price point and nothing more. Disappointed that there was no available parking and that even then it wouldn't have been complementary with the room. Had to pay for street parking. Rooms were budget style. slightly irritating that the tv was built into a cabinet, could not get access to the hdmi or usb port. Ok experience if the above isnt important to you, next time i will be looking elsewhere.

Standard room $134/ night. Clean. Room: two beds, no where to sit and have a drink except the bed. Bathroom slightly tight but clean and functional. Service: average. Location: good for Lamton Quay and waterfront.

Breakfast was very average paid high price for breakfast and nothing getting replaced like bacon eggs etc asked twice to have refilled but never happened nice cafes close by front counter staff brilliant and helpful room ok

Nice and clean but oh so small rooms. The service was fairly quick, the food is decent but I swear I could touch all four walls at once. Nice enough for a night or two but I wouldn't call it a luxury location.

Unfortunately a previous guest had been smoking down the corridor when we checked in, making the corridor as well as the nearby rooms smell of cigarette smoke. The duty manager did cincerely apologise and as it was new years eve there were no other rooms for us to move to. Air spray was liberally used and we were offered drinks vouchers as an apology. The breakfast buffet is plentyful, and the bar well stocked.

Here I was thinking it was a fab decision I made to stay there, cos it was nice and warm in the midst of the freezing cold storm Wellington was having, and the food options were vast & really delicious the ones I had. But, then on my 2nd morning, something broke with the hot water & on first enquiry the reception guy told me to just run a tap continuously for about 15 mins and it should fix it, but almost an hr later I was told it was going to take at least another hour to fix. Lucky I wasn't needing to be anywhere important that morning, so I had to drive home unshowered and feeling blah. Got a small discount but isnt that what you pay for, your shower in the morning to start your day off properly?? You would think a hotel of this size would have their water sorted. They said it wasnt anything they could control, but it wasnt storm damage or anything like that, so it all just seemed a bit weird & highly disappointing. Why would something like that happen? So hence my 3 star rating, and the bed was hard too.

Well placed and close to all places in the CBD. Room is comfy. Found the bathroom on the smaller side and bath towels are small for adults. Great welcoming staff.

Hotel is OK and customer service is good. Just dont expect a car park if you arrive in your own vehicle. not sure how many parks are actually available, but we missed out on both our visits, despite requesting a park the day before.

It's ok. Location is excellent, right in the city. Ok for a night or two, as it is budget. Don't have the Bircher Muesli unless you love sugar. Very very sweet!

Very disappointed to stay twice at this establishment in the space of a few days and be treated very differently between the two visits. On my return visit on 2 November I was greeted perfunctorily and on presentation of my ACCORPLUS card there was no welcome message or wifi access instructions, and no complimentary bottled water in the room. I did receive complimentary drink vouchers. ACCOR needs to pay attention to the consistency of its service delivery.

Lots of places of interest, tour the parliament buildings ( BeeHive ) great tour visit the cable car, magnificent views over Wellington harbour, go to the Te Papa ( museum) walk along the key stop for a coffee and chill out,and the Botanical gardens are a must

Clean, quiet, good location, staff are nice but know nothing about the city they are in. Arrived 10pm Sat night and asked concierge where to get something to eat. The only thing they could suggest was the McDonald's up the street which turned out to be closed. When in fact there were many places still open serving food less than 1km south. Concierge's or hotel staff need to know these things.

Average city hotel. View of walls and extractor vents driven by noisy fans. No fresh air - windows would not open. Dark dingy room. On a plus note - the shower was good.

Took a while before i got my door opened but the service was great. Not enough power outlets for a double bedroom. Food was great.

Very convenient location as the Ibis is in the heart of the CBD. The room are always well made up and the staff are polite. The restaurant is well stocked with many choices. A well priced stay of you want to be in the heart of the city!

Room was nicely enough appointed but thermostat was faulty so the room stayed frigid all night. Did not sleep well as a result. Internet access was restricted - I watched Netflix for less than an hour before it cut me off saying 'that's not fair use of the Internet'

Let's start by saying that this isn't a 4-star hotel. These "stars" are self-proclaimed and have zero credibility. In reality, this is a 2.5-3 star hotel with small rooms with orange doors, so walking down the hallways is not very pretty as it feels like a socialist prison with the bright orange doors acting like prison cells. Room decor is non-existent. Bed is on wheels and moves around the room as soon as you touch it. The window is integrated into the wall and cannot possibly be open, which is a problem as air conditioning is barely effective (though it does reach terrible vaccum cleaner noise levels doing almost nothing in terms of airflow). There is no flat screen TV, refrigerator is quite noisy, water smells like caramel, water pressure in the shower is low, and the hot water flow is uneven, you will get 10-15 degrees variability in water temperature without touching the tap within as many seconds. Soundproofing is an unknown concept in New Zealand, so you can hear people from the corridor, nearby rooms, as well as air conditioning from other rooms and wind from outside. There was also an inaccessible balcony in front of my tightly shut window, where a couple of chains were hanging on the bars, fluttering in the wind and making terrible racket banging against the metal bars. They fixed this upon reporting the noise, but it meant one poor night's sleep. Restaurant definitely the best part of the hotel, but only the dinner, as breakfast was 100% repetitive with low quality options. Also it's disgraceful to see hotels not including free wifi in their rooms. Here they charge $10 per day for unreliable wifi that drops out a couple times an hour and is limited to 64 KB/s! What is this, 1997? You only see this in New Zealand hotels, very sad.

We stayed two nights in this excellent centrally located hotel, which was clean and spacious. We had a great meal in the restaurant and later drinks in the bar which was open late. I would recommend.

Had a function to attend in Wellington so stayed at the Ibis one night, nice staff, clean, adequately sized room. Bonus been in the centre of Wellington, easy walk to most places.

Didn't advise us that they'd downgraded us to a Queen room when we'd booked a King room, because they were over booked. After discussing this with them, they remedied the situation by giving us a Business King room. On the whole, a very pleasant stay.

Hotel is as you would expect from an Ibis the breakfast is very good and the staff friendly courteous and helpful but the lack of parking is an issue and using public car parks can be costly. Wish our travel agent had made us aware of the parking issue before we travelled.

My family was sent here after a flight we were booked for was cancelled. The facilities were clean and modern and the staff were very helpful, we travelled with a young child and an infant and the people on the front desk and the lady in the kitchen made certain we had access to breakfast even though we were running late and missed the cutoff, can’t thank them enough.

The layout of the room was awkward I had to squeeze past the bed and TV to get to the large space by the window. The mattress was lumpy and sagging! The free WiFi in the lobby did not connect and the free CBD WiFi also in the lobby had poor connection.

Functional no frills hotel. Well overpriced. In my room the curtains didn't adequately cover the bottom of the windows which are directly above the bed... not a great room setup.

Has air con! Good team at reception, onsite bar/restaurant good enough, not trying to be 5 star. Only complaint would be variable water temperature in the shower.

If you're after an inexpensive stay in Wellington but still like all the creature comforts like a TV, good shower, nice bathroom, and a bit of room to move around, it's hard to look past the Ibis Wellington. One suggestion I would give, it's too try to bundle wifi with the room, as paying for it after the fact is pretty pricy.

A fantastic stay in a wonderful location. This was within walking distance of everything! Te Papa, WestpacStadium, The Beehive, a fabulous location. Service was great and the room was very tidy.

This is a place our company regularly put us up at being close to the office. The business rooms are clean and comfortable and the restaurant does a good breakfast and their dinner menu also has some good options.

Functional but unremarkable. Very noisy rubbish trucks outside early in the morning were not pleasant

Clean room and nice location. They scared us on Christmas because it was the only place to eat and it was 200 dollars for four people.

The mattress is very cheap and uncomfortable. I suggest staying elsewhere if you have any sort of back issues.

Well priced accommodation in a good location for business, parking and good local places to eat.

Internet was expensive & had to park on the road. Other than that the staff were friendly, the rooms clean and was in a great location.
