J.This ice cream shop has a wonderful history but if you are looking for creamy, thick ice cream with thick sauces, I would suggest you go elsewhere (Ben & Jerry's, Rollickin, etc.).
We tried this shop for the first time and the ice cream is more comparable to a cream-based shaved ice. The raspberry sauce was very runny. We were offered "cream" on our sundae, which I assumed was whipped cream, but was actually a liquid sweet cream. Made the whole sundae soupy.
We were pleased that they offer free kiddie cones though! I assume you need to purchase an adult size to get the free kiddie cone though.

A.Had no waffle cones..as he said machine broken, so I decided to go for $7 tub, overpriced for the amount of topping..in saying that the tub was full..but would of rather had bit more topping flavour if cldnt have the choice of both.
A.Used to be the best ice cream in town but with the new management, the price is questionable given the small serving. I used to be able to get a medium sundae for the price I pay now for a small sad sundae. Cream to raspberry sauce balance needs to be more consistent. I didnt appreciate the wooden spoon, ruins the taste of the ice cream. And charges $1 for a plastic lid so you can takeaway, bit ridiculous.
J.Last year I gave this place 5 stars, but after visiting this place again I have decided to lower it to 3 stars. The reason is the ice creams are smaller than they used to be now the the servings are absolutely miserable and the raspberry flavouring isn't as good as it used to be. In conclusion the product has gone downhill in the last year and I don't see myself returning.

And they are TINY! I did wonder why there is never the "usual que of people" ... start charging realistic instead of your new "flashing lights" on your van ... poor boy serving was bored as people just seeing prices and leaving!!

M.$1 a scoop..I love these as a treat however they've just had another price increase.. p.s. Not if, but when you eat one of these and you get brain freeze.. push your tongue up to the roof of your mouth and hold it there. It should go away straight away.

S.Same traditional yummy icecream. Not sure about the additional sauce flavours, but the original thin raspberry sauce has the classic Charlie flavour.
D.This place is great!! The staff are super friendly and nothing is too much of a problem for them to do. They really keep the memory of 'Charlie' alive. The vanilla ice's with raspberry and cream are a delight. Stopping here on an ocassional trip to the city brings back so many memeories from the early 70's for me. They were a lot cheaper in those days but you still get great value for your money today.

e.As a fifty year eater of these tried one at the weekend. It may be the same recipe of old but I suspect the ingredients are not. Possibly had the fat taken out as the taste of the cream was almost non existent with the only after taste in the mouth that of the cone and not the ice cream.
Try the same olde recipe with the same olde ingredients please, don't want healthy, want taste

J.We finally made it after a couple years of chasing down Icecream Charlie when visiting from Oz. So excited to get our hands on that delicious combination of icecream, cream, raspberry sauce & nuts! Our international bank cards wouldn't work in the eftpos, so Mrs Icecream Charlie gave us some directions for the closest ATM and with a quick round #2, we eagerly parted our cash and enjoyed our treats by the river. Nostalgia plus!
