D.Fantastic coffee. Great food. Service was excellent. A little pricey, but nice to indulge yourself every now and again.
S.I had the pancakes with ice cream & maple syrup & it was so delicious! I really like how you can customize it by also having the option to add chocolate &/or banana. The size was cute but also quite filling & the ice cream was very nice. My only complaint would be that I wish I could of had a little extra syrup😅 My friend had the waffles with ice cream, syrup, chocolate & banana & she really enjoyed it but also found the chocolate to be quite indulgent.
S.Beautiful Chocolates. We had the dark chocolate spoon and the Hazelnut cone very delicious would purchase again. The christmas chocolate gift boxes look very delightful!!

A.It is always enjoyable stopping by for a chocolate or a (taste of) waffle. However, as most of nz, it count on appearance more than on substance. Waffle, croissant, chocolate. Top 3 selling of the store. All very good looking. However: the waffle is easily too small; the croissant, tbh, is disappointing, not particularly good and too dry; chocolate kind of average. I really would love to give more than 3 star because it is a nice store with nice vibe... But I can't give 5 star if the food is good looking and just average in the taste.
E.Couldn't get ahold of anyone over the phone to make a booking but was able to get a table for our group when we walked in , lots of chocolate treat which are fantastic
M.Sweet indulgence. Great hot chocolate and luxury individual chocolates. Beware chocolate pricy but nice treat. Staff good seem to have high turn over. Seating at back quieter. Mall parking.
C.I've tried their iced chocolates, waffles, tiramasus and more. It's all very expensive but it's worth it for a treat every now and then.
P.Of their drinks, I've only tried the hot chocolate; that is yummy enough that I'm happy to come back whenever I can. Their cakes and slices have been delicious; the chocolates look seriously good. Nice friendly service, comfortable seating, and best of all, no horrendously loud music that you have to shout over.
c.Variety of different flavoured hot chocolate. Had the salted caramel and coconut hot chocolate. A little bit too sweet not enough cocoa.
S.Tasty hazelnut hot chocolate. It's best when you add one of their chocolate mice truffles in there, and melt it. It makes it just bit more special. 😀
T.The service was lovely and the environment was nice - esp for a mall that is quite busy. Though the hot choclates were way too sweet. They were undrinkable. So would be nice if they adjusted their receipe a bit. We have a sweet tooth so yea.. Prices were avg but then again Westfield mall rents are way to high so unavoidable.
R.It's a place with a strange slightly uncomfortable vibe. My friends and I cant put our fingers on what makes it uncomfortable. I thought the coffee was pretty good but the cups/mugs the coffee comes in are horrible to drink out of. They serve beautiful artisan chocolates.
L.Great variety of chocolates and best salted caramel chocolate cake!! Service average, I assume cause they are always pretty busy. Sometimes u hav to wait for a while before being served and no one acknowledges or greets u. Go here once a whIle.
K.I really like this place when I crave for sweet food and drink. I like the belgian waffles topped with chocolate sauce and ice cream it is a must try when you go here. The raspberry spider with ice cream is my favourite drink here as it taste like a soda and shake at the same time. If you want a healthier option but still crave for sweets then the fruit fondue platter is the one for you.
Highly reccomend to family and friends. A good place to catch up with friends.
E.Very good Dark Chocolate Milkshake. Not too sweet and still has the bitterness and aroma of chocolate.
C.The best! The many hot chocolate flavours are exceptional. The staff are very chatty and friendly. The chocolates are absolutely delicious- I recommend getting the chocolate spoons as they function as a spoon and are the same price as the small- but wonderful- chocolates.
B.While I was in Christchurch i went to this place with my parents for a coffee and morning tea. I went to this place a few years back and really enjoyed it and nothing has changed really nice food and coffee. Reasonably priced and well presented place. When i come back to Christchurch I will definitely be coming back again.

It's baaaaack with a brand new refreshing look!!! So very happy and my Dark Belgian Chilli Hot Chocolate was f****** superb!!!!
WTfrig!! Surprised and disappointed to find this place (Westfield, Riccarton) was boarded up and redirected to a "kiosk" downstairs which wasn't open! There's no other place in the country that offers and makes a Dark Belgian Chilli Hot Chocolate like this place so I hope down-sizing doesn't mean another Theobroma store is going down the gurgle!!! I'm not a fan of their food except for the fruit platter but then, after a gigantic mug of DBCHC, I don't have room for food!! When it first opened a few years ago, the staff and service was exceptional. Nowdays, it's hit and miss. I just don't want to come back and find it's closed it's doors for good without giving me their recipe for my all time favourite Chilli Hot Chocolate!!! I've been to other cafes who offer belgian hc but they have nothing on Theobroma's Dark Begian Chilli Hot Chocolate, reigns supreme!!!

B.My Family and I went to the Riccarton Theobroma about 5-6 weeks and really enjoyed it the staff were friendly and extremely accomodating, so when you get great service you return back, thats what my children and I did today and were extremely disapointed with the service, they were training a new girl on the till, which was fine she was very lovely and apologised which I had no issue with her but there was a slight mix up with the order for the kids and when I explained to the lady who served the food she was extremely defensive when it was just an error on the cashier end which was an easy fix and I was happy to pay the difference for the mistake, this has put me off returning again
S.Alot of chocolate selections , good quality and delicious.Very busy but great customer service.lt will be good if they had gluten free and dairy free savoury selections .
I.Lovely chocolate but disappointed that my granddaughter had to wait for a long time to get served while the serve staff ignored her. Not very difficult to say may I help you. Otherwise we had a good experience 😊
