This place was the first icecream shop we visited when we moved to Christchurch in 2018. And it keeps getting better with the vegan selections. An Absolute summer must visit.

Such a gorgeous little hidden gem! I had never seen it before and just happened to spot it as I was wandering around Sumner. The ice cream was delicious, but the courtyard really made it a treat. Highly recommend it and am definitely coming back!

Ordered sea salt caramel popcorn and coconut, dark choco, cacao nibs. Both taste amazingly great! I usually do not like caramel but it turns out to be my fav among these two. Have been recommending to people around me. Love to be back to try other flavour. Wish it could be bigger scoops with $9 for two scoops.

The best ice-creams ever!🍦 Amazing quality and awesome flavour combinations + there's vegan and dairy free options. My favourite is the Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt sorbet. But today they also had Mascarpone and Sour Cherry ice-cream 🍒 oh my.....🤤 And the Feijoa and Vanilla Bean!!! Go! I had a Chilli Hot Chocolate to accompany my cone and I was so pleased.☕ So delish! I LOVE THIS PLACE!

I had the sea salt caramel popcorn flavour. I loved it! And great value for money. However I was a bit frustrated that the flavors were all very out there and different. I think it's good to have 2 -3 basic flavors amongst the out there ones! I would have loved to see like a cookies and cream or basic lemon/ berry gelato.

Crafted flavoured icecream, queue all the time, the original shop with a second shop on high street in town. Unique flavours all you can try before you buy, comes with a cup or a cone. Super friendly staff, queue moves quickly and gives you some time to go through the menu too. Well maintained front garden with toys kids can play with, also has a bowl of water for fur friends too.

Yum, yum, YUM! The only thing you'll regret is not having enough room in your stomach to have all the flavours! Whether you want a single scope in a cone or a three scoop sundae with pecan praline, caramel sauce and cream you're sure to find something on the menu to suit your fancy. An intimate little courtyard makes a perfect spot to stop and enjoy your selection. No regrets... Except the whole "my stomach isn't big enough" thing I mentioned before 😉

Amazing ice creams! The best one I've tried in New Zealand so far. So we went there as a group of 3, tried their different flavors and had a hard time deciding on which ones to got since they're all really good! We ended up ordering 2 sea salt caramel popcorn, and the dark chocolate flavor. Those are our favorites thus far! Definitely worth your stop!

I've been looking for a decent ice cream place, and with Utopia I've found it. Coming from Hamilton I've been a little spoilt with Duck Island Ice Cream. This place almost fills the hole in my obese soul where Duck Island should be. Great range of flavours, friendly staff, alternative environment, environmentally friendly. Other than the persistent feeling that I should be listening to a beat poem over an Ethiopian brew this place is incredible. Side note: If you're vegan then this'll be a great place for you. If the word vegan offends you, then maybe go grab a tub of Tip Top from your local supermarket - You backwards hick.

The service is always warm and friendly and I am yet to find a flavour I don't like. Such a lovely place to sit outside and enjoy your ice cream. My son and I are gluten and dairy intolerant so to be able to have so many choices is a treat in itself. Today we had the gluten free vegan waffles and they were very good.

This (and their High Street place in the city centre) is simply the best ice cream place not only in town, but also on the South Island if not the whole of New Zealand. The ice cream is entirely home made (no nasties) with the best of ingredients. The flavours are amazingly special and change at a regular basis. Also don’t miss the awesome waffles (with ice cream of course). Follow them on social media to never miss what’s on at their places.

I'd never heard of this place before someone took us there after a bike ride. Fantastic reward for a long hard ride. One million percent recommended, it's hard to choose just one flavour, have to return to try another next time.

I'm a total ice cream monster and this is my favourite ice cream shop in the world. The flavours are unique and they are rotated regularly. There are lots of nice plain ice creams and sorbets to choose from, as well as some more adventurous flavours like chocolate & marshmallow or salted caramel & popcorn. They even made an apple strudel ice cream once! You won't regret making Utopia a regular part of your life.

Really tasty icecreams with some very interesting flavors, not flavors you would normally pick that would go together, but the work. If you are not sure of a flavor you can always sample it. They have a little area out the front where you can sit down and enjoy your ice-cream or coffee. I didn't have a coffee so don't know what it was like but if it's the same standard as the icecream it should be amazing.

For me this is probably the best ice cream in Christchurch. They always have a new special flavour so you always get to try something new. The only negative thing for me is that for the price they charge I found the scoops too small.

Skip the tip top on the promenade; Utopia is just around the corner. Amazing homemade ice cream. Heaps of vegan options (lactose-free flavours dominate the menu!) and always new, inventive combinations. I love the marscapone cherry and the cinnamon... And the dark chocolate sorbet (yes, sorbet)... not to mention the number of special batches made using local fruits. The cosy location also offers barista coffees, real hot chocolate, homemade marshmallows, coconut whipped cream!?... If you haven't been here yet, you got to try it. Winter just gives you an excuse to splurge, and get everything on top of a hot (gluten free, vegan) waffle. ❄️
