M.Oh my gosh. I am very very impressed with the customer service of this place.
I am unable to travel to the hotel this weekend due to COVID positive test and I had total support from Becky who made sure I could cancel my booking on time to get the full refund.
So nice and very rare to find this kind of attitude in a world were everyone finds excuses not to help others.
Becky (I hope I am writing your name right), I wanna meet you in person.

D.5 of us for dinner. Scallops and bacon, massive juicy oysters. Scotch fillets with mushroom or pepper sauce, mash vegetables or salad. Chocolate mud cake, Apple crumble, white chocolate and strawberry cheesecake. Heaven. Great service, great food & great prices. Ticks all the boxes
L.Lovely meal...on Queens birthday weekend a group of 12 of us travelled there on a dreary wet Monday to have an outing and lunch. There was also a small group of women dining otherwise it was just the 2 groups. The wait staff were very good, attentive but not intrusive and the food was lovely. Their menu covers a wide choice of dishes including thai. The dining room is aged but warm and pleasant. Would happily return and recommend.

S.A large group of people stayed for a weekend recently. The room my wife and I stayed was perfect for us. The shower was great with good pressure. We had a great meal in the restaurant to. Reasonable price to.
c.Photo on left supposed to be filet mignon, the right was pork belly. Food was cooked nicely, another member at our table had the fish of the day, but we weren't told what it was. Salmon came with coleslaw but no dressing. Waitress lovely. Didnt stay for dessert.

B.Our host Sue recommended this Restaurant to us for dinner, and we were not disappointed. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. As I'm not a wine connoisseur he even suggested a wine to me that was a very good choice to have. Thanks for that. The restaurant is very clean. We loved the atmosphere of the rooms from 1840's. And the food was delicious. I asked for Spare Ribs and got a big portion of that. The meat was so tender that it fell off the bones and just melt in my mouth. The chips was plenty and cooked to perfection as well. Overall a very pleasant experience in dining in in Northern Wairoa Hotel Restaurant.

B.The hotel restaurant. We were surprised. What a great place and a hidden secret. We loved the old world type atmosphere, excellent simple food which was really well cooked. Excellent sized portions. Very Dargaville with nice touch of class. The beautiful lounge room adjacent to the restaurant, with a massive open fire, is a great place to relax both before and after dining.
J.The orders were taken promptly and food brought out quickly. 20 of us there, everyone had delicious meals. A good range of meals too. People working there were friendly and efficient.

c.Always love going to the Northern Wairoa Hotel. We go to Dargaville just to eat there from Maungaturoto. We like the atmosphere, food and service. On the last visit the restaurant was very quiet. However, the kitchen was way to noisey, and disrubtive. Noise travelled over to our table. The Medium Lamb rack was Rare almost running off the plate.
Would also love to see this beautiful building have a makeover.

S.I visited this hotel during my Northland trip. I am very glad I stayed a night here and also had dinner here. I totally fell in love with this hotel. It is very historic. The interior is amazing and is being well maintained. My bed was very comfortable and room was clean. The staff was extremely friendly, polite and had amazing customer service skills. We were given services in the restaurant by waitstaff Shiela who was again very well mannered with great customer service skills. The portions of my Lamb shank was very big and I was thoroughly impressed by the whole experience. It was a bit quiet as I was there in the 2nd Jan, the whole town was quiet. I would definitely visit this place again to experience the services and food in my next trip. Would highly recommend! Cheers
E.Impressive. My wife had the Eye Fillet, my father the Lamb Shanks and I had the Fish of The Day. All 3 of us were impressed by the quality, flavours and portions. Simply outstanding and value for money. The Fish and Lamb was approximately $25 and the Eye Fillet was $32. The service was fantastic - Attentive and friendly.
E.It's a fine old hotel, well maintained, comfortable rooms and good meals.
LOne thing bugged me: I asked if I'd be able to recharge my phone in the room, was told I could, but I couldn't. The room had one single power point, which was unable to charge my phone. When asked, the bar staff attempted to charge my phone, with some success, but they tried to say my cable or adaptor must be defective. Well they work fine at home.
Oh and the old plumbing pipes made funny noises, but that really did not bother us.

K.My Husband an I stayed here last weekend and would like to highly recommend this hotel. Our host Daryle was just amazing along with his great staff. He also offered to take us complimentary to and from our celebration which was slightly out of town . Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The restaurant offered great meals and we also enjoyed the refreshments in the bar. We will definatly be returning to enjoy your great hospitality. j.Had lunch there today and everything about the experience was excellent. Historical ambience. Perfectly cooked meals that were huge and very reasonably priced. Efficient, personable waiter. Worth a trip to Dargaville just for a memorable meal.
C.I wasn't expecting such great food and excellent service. I've been back to the hotel for a meal twice in the last 4 weeks. Both times we used it as a venue for a big group of people to dine and meet. You have to try the scallops, divine! Nice being in a historic hotel and I will return again soon.

K.Don’t be fooled by the dated decor as there is incredibly good food served here. Recommend the scallops wrapped in bacon as the entree. Wine lists are incredibly limited which surprising given it’s got a front of house pub but then again it’s Dargaville so maybe not so surprising.

A.A unique slice of kiwiana. This would be the local for many. Go in for a drink and warm welcome from staff. Salt of the earth, unpretentious with take it or leave it attitude. Refreshing change from most places. Guessing if the walls could talk wild tales would be told. I enjoyed the friendly banter and cheers when in. Happy to recommend and stay next visit. This is a historic building.
T.Was not the best of places to stay, no doubt that in its day it would have been a grand old lady, the bar is good, but the restaurant was top marks, good prices, great food. Would recommend it in a heart beat for a sit down dinner.

A.We have just stopped in Dargaville looking for somewhere to eat. Normal stop is closed, but man have we found a gem.This place is wonderful. Cheap food and a beer to wash it down. Love it.

A.Food delicious, location in middle of Dargaville Township, accommodation very old and outdated but rooms were clean. Just watch out for the mosquitoes and with the pub downstairs on Saturday be prepared for a little bit of noise.
