Staff knowing that I was new guided me through the process of choosing a flavour and type of ice-cream but in the end I chose a milkshake which was incredibly tasty, a caramel fudge. One of the best ice-cream parlour I have been to. It was packed. The queue nearly out the door

We've visited I Scream for Ice Cream several times over the summer break. The staff are super friendly and there is lots of great choice. More importantly for my family, there are dairy-free icecreams and the staff are amazing at ensuring the icecreams are safe for my anaphylactic to dairy daughter. She has only been able to have an icecream from a shop in a cone a handful of times so this has been a fantastic treat for our whole family.

Solid old-school dairy-style ice cream shop. After this store made the NZ Best Ice Creams: Reader's Picks list in Stuff I drove over to try it. I Scream is basically a dairy that just sells lollies and ice cream, and it is a great small-town ice cream shop. I saw it listed in the Stuff article alongside places like Kaffee Eis and Poppy's, and this is an unfortunate context as I Scream is not at all similar. It is not a cafe selling amazing home-made ice-cream. It is a cool local ice cream shop, with an ambience straight out of 1982. The staff are very friendly and patient, and worked fast under a lot of pressure. There are three tables and two sofas for indoors seating. No one asked to check our vaxx passes but the COVID QR code was clearly displayed in several places, and there was a paper check in option. There are lots of serviettes in dispensers for melty summer drippiness. The pick-n-mix display had a box of disposable gloves for customers to use. They do have PayWave. I Scream carry Tip Top and Kapiti and Killinchy Gold and multiple non-dairy options. The pick-n-mix looked excellent with more choices than the usual supermarket display. There were So Many Options and another trip will be required to try more. They serve sundaes in a clamshell container with a handy lid. Three scoops of premium ice cream with toppings and whipped cream was $10, which really cannot be beaten. It's a little jumbled, and a little ramshackle, and a lot crowded, with absolutely no pretentiousness, and I mean that in a good way. You could set a Taika Waititi film in here with zero effort. If you are driving through Feilding and you want an ice cream absolutely stop here.

Astounding choice of ice creams from Kapiti, Rush Munro, Tip Top etc as well as milkshakes, confectionery and more. Comfortable and ample seating if you want to linger and excellent service. Treat yourself!

Big problem is cutting choice down to 3 ,out of over 20 . The chocolate dip is excellent and covers the ice cream so no drips, boy it's so good.

Lovely staff, large range of flavours. They also have dairy free real fruit icecream (I think it's a soy vanilla base), where you choose from a list of about 8 flavours. They have gluten free cones! There is also a selection of lollies. My kids love to sit in the booth by the window.

What a delicious treat! If ice scream isn't your cup of tea they also have a lovely selection of lollies, including old fashioned ones. * New World is in a new location so disregard signs stating you can access the NW shop via the video store.
