Great customer service when we popped in here last week, the lady serving was delightful. Tastings were available. We bought a round of the Brie, oh my goodness it was delicious. Will definitely be back.

We had a nice quick stop here for the delicious Kapiti ice-cream, one of our favourite NZ varieties. You can also try samples and make purchases of perhaps 12-15 artisan cheeses on offer at the shop. We ended up buying the Smoked Manuka that we enjoyed over the next few days of our travels. We also purchased a package of nice rice crackers that went well with a variety of spreads and other foods we picked up later on during our trip. Talbot Forest Cheese ended up being a good stop for us. We'd be happy to stop by here again during future driving trips on South Island.

Good cheese, but as other reviews, the older lady made our experience of tasting and wanting a bit more about the cheeses quite unpleasant. If am sure she is kind of a pain for the company, as we could have bought more cheese and advertise more about the shop if the lady was nice.

Yes. Cheese tastings are amazing. So many selections, and right next to Barkers which is also handy. No one asked if we needed help or wanted anything from behind the glass, but we tasted most of the cheeses which were delicious. Gifts available in the shop as well.

A must for everyone that has a passion, or addiction, to cheese!!! They have a great selection and its all delicious. I love trying new things and this place never disappoints. I cant pick a favourite but I like the Butter Kase, the massadam, the French brie, the cumin gouda, the gruyere, the goat feta, the farmhouse cheddar.......basically everything! I havent tried the icecream but it looks yummy. I can testify that the fudge is DIVINE. If your on a diet, eat your lettuce and carrots. If not, this is cheese heaven! Enjoy! 😌👍😁

Our family loves cheese so we were impressed at the cabinet full of cheese with 20 odd samples sitting on the counter available to try. So many options that we'd have to sample the same cheese twice because we'd forgotten the taste. Lots of variety we left the store with an assortment of cheese, cream cheese, Gouda and Havarti.

Bargains galore are a feature here, with boxed brie ($18) as well as offcuts of almost all varieties. Apart from cheese, there's fudge and ice-cream, all well presented and served by warm and friendly staff. Well worth a visit to taste and enjoy.

Cheese! What can I say that you don't already know? Cheese is good. Talbot Forest Cheese is AMAZING! Left here with three different cheeses and would have left with more if thought we could get away with it. Definitely worth a visit!!

Tasty mature cheese! At last tasty cheese. A large selection of different types flavours and strengths. Samples to try are a nice change. Also sell Kapiti ice cream here. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Do not enter under any circumstances if you don't like the smell of cheese. After all this is what they make here so don't moan about it! On the other hand they also sell delicious Kapiti icecream including my favorite flavor gingernut. So hold your nose or get a friend to get you your icecream!

Yummy yummy cheeses at decent prices! We picked up a wedge of the delicious mesopotamia blue and some gruyere for a bit over $8. They sell ice cream and fudge as well. Lovely friendly staff. You can see out into the back to get a look at a bit of the cheese making process. Parking right outside. Downside - watch the tiles outside: very slippery when wet.

Nice little shop. Can taste all cheeses which is rather nice. I recommend the goat cheese and pepper they are my favourite. Worth stopping for if you are in the way to christchurch.

Has been really good in the past but bought a brie recently that was dry and rubbery. Normally love the Havarti but this one had been aged too long, had lost its buttery texture and had become too salty for my taste. Disappointed.

I randomly walked into the shop and came out with 3 different cheese but now I am devastated that I didn’t buy more. The gruyere and the blue cheese were hands down the best cheese I’ve ever had!!

What lovely flavors in the Gruyere! Nutty leathery fruits that melt in your mouth but the taste lingers on.. just wonderful..oh and that salty bite, cracking!!
