Relief on a hot summer’s day. Friendly staff, good ice cream. I highly recommend the salted caramel and pistachio ice cream.

We tasted their snicker waffle & Nutella rolled ice cream...yummy!! If you are looking for a different kind of ice-cream in tauranga, we recommend Polar.

Great place to get the new fangled shaved ice cream in the middle downtown town Mt maungaui. Staff were great, adjusting the menu to suit my boys order, he wanted that, didn't want this. Priced fairly, good times all round.

Don’t “ MISS OUT” Tauranga’s Best Dessert shop. Amazing Bubble Waffle cone and Ice creams & shakes. Just look up the timings before you plan to visit.

The owner was there by himslef today but he was a trooper and, with great comms and a very high attention yo quality, prepared us one of the best waffled and ice cream ever. Did not dissapoint, in fact, exceeded expectations.

Been going to Polar since they opened their doors, they are always coming up with new delicious options during the year & change their menu which keeps it exciting. My Bubble waffle last night was amazing! If you like Dessert’s you have to try this place while in the Mount!

While they do have gelato and fresh mini donuts, Polar's main focus is something called "cold plate ice cream." You chose your base (chocolate, vanilla or yogurt) and then one of eight flavor combinations (things like mango and mint plus chocolate; strawberries and cookies; etc.). After that there's a choice of sauce, and whether or not to have whipped cream. The base, in cream form, and flavorings are then poured onto a cold stone which freezes it as your server mixes it together, then scrapes the now-frozen mixture into scroll shapes and puts them in a cup. Topping is added, and there you have it. While I can't say the ice cream is the best we've ever had, it's delicious and fun to watch it being made. We haven't sampled the gelato, but we can say the little donuts are amazing. For a unique ice cream experience, get the cold plate creation, but for a truly outstanding item, try the donuts.

Ice cream and waffles lover shop! Never imagined ice creams can be cold plated in an innovative way. And waffles with ice cream in it is yummy!! Staffs are experienced and love their style of making cold plated. Worth watching it as the result it is strongly worth tasting it too. Minimal waiting time but worth waiting. You can also get the cone or cup ice creams as well. Tip: try with toppings for the cold plated !!

7:33 PM Friday 9th August and my friends and I are all SO pleased with the friendly service and the delicious product!! So cool and fun being able to roll the Cold Plate ice cream things ourselves... TOTALLY RECOMMEND GOING!

We had just icecream in a cone and a thick shake/smoothie whatever it's called. The icecream was standard store bought icecream, nothing extra or rich about it, just the cheap stuff. Thick shake was alright, sweet, heavy, couldn't finish it. None of the three servers were really in the mood, no smiles or extra words. Wouldn't visit again. Fine if you are just looking for an Instagram photo though, looked like they created some fun things on their cold plate.

Great concept and a neat way to have dessert. My son and husband tried the cold plates and I tried the waffle cones all were delicious. Look forward to coming back next time we are here

Lots of yummy dessert treats to choose from. 3 of us got the frozen choices, I got the waffle with cream and chocolate sauce mmmmmm yummy. Amazing staff too.

Brilliant POLAR BUBBLE WAFFELS and the cold plate ice creams are a treat. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this lil place to everyone visiting our lil touch of paradise we call home

Yeah all good but at the end of the day its just ice cream and having it like this makes it more difficult to eat with the wooden spoon provided. Looked good and tasted good but it's just a novelty having ice cream rolls.
