T.I can see what all the fuss is about, the long line of customers waiting for their ice-cream orders. This did not faze the staff members at all. Fast, efficient and well maintained store. A must see shope.

R.Delish ice cream shop and cafe .. a huge range Of ice cream flavors to choose from. Nice coffee, cafes and cafe items in the cabinet. Staff are friendly. It is pretty busy so be prepared to sit further down the road. Lots of nice place to sit.
K.I shall say the Legendary Original Pokeno Ice Cream. On a average day, there is always a queue outside the shop. 20 plus flavours and up to 10 scoops, this is heaven for ice cream lovers. I saw so many times some one checked in this place on Facebook. Great value and services. Highly recommended!
V.Ordinary Tip Top ice cream same as we get in Supermarkets. Bit expensive for those who come from far to taste the ice cream. I can buy a tub from Supermarket for $5 and whole family of 5 can taste twice. I will not go again just for ice cream.
E.Amazing, I havent been here for 5yrs and everything is still the same. A great place for nostalgic memories. It would be great if they could have lids/covers to keep food units closed so flies dont get near the food. For the most part I dont see too many flies but anything to keep food as safe as possible would be great. There are so many staff moving around which probably keeps any flies out.
D.Really good ice cream, one huge scoop for just about $2. Service can improve a bit though. The lady serving us was unwelcoming and impatient, but seemed friendly with the other customers.

P.It's ok. It's store is battling the store next door. The food range is from fried chicken, chips sausages, to Rolls, sandwiches, wraps, and cakes and other desserts. Oh and hot and cold drinks. Too Ice cream...

Allot of choices you can pick, all in tip top brand. I didn’t count how many favorite they’re selling. It seems close to 20 Choices or up.
The waffle cone also fresh n crispy. Match with the ice-cream so well.
It will be good if you stop for a break when you pass by Pokeno. This shop just next to the famous Pokeno bacon shop.

L.Used to drop in here all the time when I was a kid. Although it's now off the main motorway, I bring my kids, it's worth it. Ice cream choices and portions, so GOOD.
L.Always providing friendly service. Restaurant is kept in great condition. Health and food safety is practiced and food grades are good. Ice-cream flavors switch every time I've visited and they are always generous with the amount.
You can dine in but they keep their tables and seat outside which is fine. You can expect buskers outside who seem to be well known and are not a problem.

B.This is one of the two takeaway shops on the main road. It was hard to find what they sell here aside from the ice cream. The menu was hidden to the side. They do have quite a lot of seating though on the side of the shop.

A.Simply... The best ice creams in NZ. I challenged my two nieces to a $4 ice cream without making a mess or letting it drip!! They failed miserably 😂😂😂 they're such big ice-creams that it's become a must do on the way to and from Auckland... Highly recommended
B.This is a great place to stop if you happen to be driving anywhere nearby. There is a huge variety of ice cream flavours available (Tip Top) and the prices are fantastic. Just be wary that you can't pay with credit cards and my need cash (especially for those recently arrived in NZ). The ATM next door can also be temperamental and didn't allow is to withdraw cash from our international account (we didn't have issues elsewhere).
T.Great place to stop for a feed if you're traveling far, the Ice Cream shop, you have to stop for one, best ever, plus you meet friendly people there.

Thank you for your reply. No, the Original Pokeno Ice Cream shop is where we went. I asked for a taste-test of two flavors, and was told no taste-testing. Maybe because we were foreign tourists?
J.It's Pokeno ice cream. I'm not sure how much more you need to know. Very generous scoops of ice cream and very cheap! Heaps of flavours to choose from and there is hot food and cold drinks available. Be wary of looong cues, especially in the summer months. Go on a weekday if you can when it's a bit quieter.

D.Pokemon icecream a kiwi must do so many variations of flavors most you cant find in the supermarket....only flaw is the need to have a COMPLETE flavors list and have them situated by the actual icecream....I say this as it can get so full with customers that you dont really get to see all the varieties they have....3 scoops is $4...I always get a pungent instead of a cone which is 50c extra....I do this because everytime we have gone there I always see that one customer that walks out and the icecream falls off the cone....it can happen if you go beyond 2 scoops just an fyi #ENJOY
