A favourite place to stop for a treat! So many unique flavours and some classics too. There's something for everyone. Great service, always very helpful when you can't decide.

When in Taupo this is always our after dinner ice cream stop. Great range to choose from served with a friendly welcoming smile. Vaccine pass required which was hassle free and reassuring for customers who want to remain covid safe . See you next time when next pass through from the Mount.

An amazing place for Gelato 🍨 and sorbet as well. Yummy 😋 at it’s best.

Good and friendly service. Good cones and good gelato, but for a gelato place I would have expected even better quality. The sorbet range is huge.

We came by before driving back to Auckland as dessert. Although it was winter, it was still a nice enough day to come by and pick up some treats. They have a fairly large selection of ice creams with interesting flavours. They also have chocolates for sale too. I had a double scoop with speculoos and mango. both were tasty and quite different. Surprisingly, the mango had bits of mango in it too so there was a little textural difference. Quite a nice treat before being in a car for another four hours.

Had my main meal and now here for desert. So many options available and a great selection of sorbets. They let you have a taster before you buy and the prices for gelato is really reasonable. Seats outside and in to complete the vibe. Brilliant and Thankyou!

Excellent gelato!! The mango sorbet contains real mango pulp inside and each scoop is big. Must try if you're into ice-cream.

This ranks near the top of my list of best ice cream ever. They have a ton of flavors, all looked amazing, and they give you very generous portions. It was a pretty new place when we stopped in, but they seem to have the art of gelato perfected. If only I didn’t live so far away.... GO EAT SOME AMAZING GELATO.

This place compliments Taupo and its scenery at the lake front - even though this gelateria is not at the lakefront - but picture the cloudless evening in Taupo with sun setting over the lake and going in to Lula's and grabbing an ice cream (I think their dark chocolate and blueberry cheesecake flavor is amazing) and walking down to the lakefront and enjoying the yummy gelato at the lakefront. It was an amazing experience.

Awesome selection of ice creams and gelatos. A bit of a queue On a hot day, but that is to be expected. Takeaway only - so no vaccine pass check :( , but mask is required at least.

Great selection of some exotic icecream, it looked so yummy I got one in a cone, they have cartons for kids. It WAS YUMMY!!🤪😉😁

Great sorbet but if you want water you have to buy a plastic bottle. Would suggest that small paper cups or a water fountain would be more courteous to customers and planet.

Black doris plum sorbet tastes like the plums from the tree in my childhood garden. I find excuses to visit Rotorua just for their gelato

What amazing ice cream! Passion fruit, coconut and strawberry all great. And very large portions. Highly recommended.

The peppermint ice cream is incredible. So popular that they keep running out of the stuff:-D Really wide range of flavours and the sizes are generous . Take the kids and give them a memory they will talk about forever. Life isn't just the length of time you live, it's also the the great moments that make you grateful for the days you were alive for. Be great....eat ice cream 😁

Great selection of ice cream and sorbets. It's not the cheapest, but there is a loyalty card and the portions are generous and very tasty. They also offer take home tubs of 0.5 and 1 litre. There is nearly always a queue when I go past (even in terrible weather), which just shows how good they are!

Great place :)) we stopped here twice in the same day. Very generous with their servings, great service, and had a decent amount of flavours to choose from, including dairy-free options for some in our group. Would happily come back ☺️🍦

Good selection of Gelato and sorbets. Friendly staff

On a hot day this is the perfect place to come for a refreshing ice cream. I ordered the single scoop for $5.20 and had the waffle cone. I was allowed to try a few different flavours which was really helpful and decided on the very refreshing mango sorbet. Delicious. The cone you get is pretty large as well and the scoop of ice cream is seriously big. A great place and good value for money.

If you like Tip-top you’ll love Luna’s. Generic style ice cream that will satisfy your sugar fix. Artificial flavours combined with fake colours. Very average but good value.

Amazing ice-cream. We tried the black licorice and the feijoa - both were just like eating licorice or fresh feijoas. Highly recommend and will definitely be back. Friendly staff too.

Biggest variety of sorbet Ive seen in a while! Very yum!

Their milk based ice creams are very tasty. Staff was nice enough to made us try samples before deciding the final flavor. I bought a single scoop Biscotti with a cone and my husband got double scoop with Biscotti and Banana flavor. Both cost around $13. Only downside is that we felt the price is little high, but then it's a must try for ice cream lovers during their time in taupo. P.S. Do try Biscotti flavour for sure as it's a mix of chocolate and brownie. Interesting, isn't it?

Best gelato in NZ!! So many amazing flavours to choose from as well 😍 Staff are really friendly and let us try as many flavours as we wanted. 100% would reccomend.

Beautiful ice cream. Servings are massive...I had a child size come...and that was pretty much like an adult size. My description of servings would be large, larger and massive.

Friendly staff, great ice cream. You know it’s fresh, with real ingredients - no artificial stuff. Good location right on the lake. Recommend to any gelato lovers!

OMG love this place!! Lots of flabours to choose from, my fav is biscotti and rich chocolate gelato, the gals are super nice and dont ever seem annoyed when you want to try heaps of flavours lolsss, and the SCOOPS are massive and generous!! these guys are ON!

Staff were very friendly and patient whilst I tried to pick from the wide range of flavours. Ended up with the biscotti and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

I bought three different varieties and they were all very well made. Reminiscent of the Gelati artiginale in Italy. I associate this with the name of the place. Expectations fully met. Big recommendation for all lovers of homemade gelati (or ice cream for our German friends 😉 (Original) Angesagte Gelateria. Am Wochenende kann es schon mal eine kurze Schlange geben. Die Auswahl der Gelati ist gross. Die Preise vernünftig (eine Kugel 5.80, zwei Kugeln 7,50 NZD). Ich habe drei verschiedene Sorten gekauft und alle waren handwerklich sehr gut gemacht. Erinnert stark an die Gelati artiginale in Italien. Dies assoziere ich auch beim Namen des Lokals. Erwartungen somit voll erfüllt. Grosse Empfehlung für alle Liebhaber von hausgemachter Gelati (oder Speiseeis für unsere deutschen Freunde 😉
