The best place to go for a delicious gelato around Matakana!! So many flavours too. So yum! We had double scoops to try more flavours - fig and ginger with bounty and almond and honey with coconut ice sorbetto!!

Wow wee what a lovely place! Kid friendly as well. Parking available on site with a great selection of must try Gelatos! Excellent service very clean place, toilets clean seating clean and the service as well. We also had a wood cooked pizza and coffee which was perfect! There's lots of seating outside with a secret play area for the kids. Very good 👍

Several times when I've been travelling through the area, a friend has suggested stopping here. I finally did recently. So glad I did. What most impressed me is the variety of flavours, especially a few I've never seen before. I had Chai Latte after a tough decision and really enjoyed it. I'll definitely be stopping by every time I drive past now, so that I can try all the flavours!

Everytime we head to Charlie's we get fantastic ice cream/Gelato and the best service. Pizzas are fabulous too. Being able to sit out amongst the grapevines creates a real experience when taking friends visiting the area.

Just off the main road it would be easy to miss Charlies Gelato but I would definitely recommend you don't miss it. This was the best Gelato I've had! Oh my. This gelato and sorbetto it out of this world. Had lemon sorbetto and pineapple sorbetto, both so good on a hot day. Would highly recommend and just wish you could buy closer to home.

A rare five star. Five stars is not something I give out unless I feel that a place absolutely deserves it because I feel that everywhere has room for improvement. However, Charlie's has shown me one of the rare exceptions. The selection of flavors is incredible. Finding out that none of the ice creams are made with anything artificial, I opted for a double cone with the flavour of the month - Christmas Cherry - and a scoop of After Dinner Mint. The Christmas Cherry was superb. I got three full cherries in the one scoop alone, lots of cherry pieces and a gorgeous cherry sauce that was even throughout the scoop. The After Dinner Mint is the minty-est ice cream I've ever had in my life, it's like what I've been searching for my whole short life and I'm so glad I found it at Charlie's. The location is secluded but beautiful. With indoor and outdoor seating, and lots of interesting flavors to choose from, this is an ideal stop off location or even a destination for a family outing. The staff are extremely friendly, kind, and chatty. An atmospherically warm and welcoming environment. I look forward to going back and trying different flavors. I'll be recommending to my friends and family. Best ice cream I've ever had.

Lovely pizza from their out door pizza oven, best and most authentic base I’ve had in years. Fabulous place for lunch, sitting between the grape vines. We really enjoyed their delicious strawberries grown on site. Tania, the owner, couldn’t have been more friendly to the large group of children we had with us. I will definitely be going back. The best of the best. Why go anywhere else when the best is nearby. The owner is terrific and will tell you her favorites. Which was the dark chocolate with a fruity Gelato. I chose raspberry Gelato to go with the dark chocolate and it was just wonderful. The sweet raspberry contrasted nicely with the dark chocolate.

After 5 weeks touring the country, this was probably the very last place I bought ice cream before returning to the UK from Auckland. It was a brilliant experience that has coloured my very happy memories of NZ. The queues were pretty short when I got there so there was an opportunity to have a chat and a laugh with the staff, who are friendly and efficient. I opted for a final blowout and chose 3 scoops, including hokey pokey ("It's NZ in a cup") and my favourite, boysenberry. It saddens me we just can't get that here in England. The price was particularly reasonable considering the gargantuan servings we got. I hope I get a chance to return one day and that it's lost none of its charm. Highly recommended.

Charlie's makes the best gelato in Auckland, in my opinion. The queue is almost always long but it moves quickly. The staff are lovely and you can buy fresh berries if you get there early enough in the day.
