A great selection of gelato. I would definitely return if I lived nearby so I could try several of their flavours. A nice treat on a really hot day.

kaffee eis has been my favourite ice cream since they opened the first location in oriental parade many years ago. Over the years the quality never went down, the ice cream is always on point and they make a mean coffee and outstanding affogato. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and this always feels really genuine.

I enjoyed coming here and having a nice coffee. The staff were nice. Multiple choices of ice creams available.

I simply love their ice creams. If anybody out there likes rasins and rum together, their rum and rasin is worth giving a try😍. Lemon ice cream is like frozen slushy lemonade in a scoop🤩. Mango has bits of actual mango throughout🥳. Chocolate lovers, you will get all the chocolate in every slurp & lick🤪! I just couldn't hold myself to take the pictures of the ice cream cones because I always just dig right into the deliciousness.

Will forever be my favourite place to get icecream in welly. The raspberry one just tasted like pure berries. It was divine. And I always get lemon as that's my favourite! Speculoos is also so good and I love having that one when I feel like something sweet.

Really good gelato and sorbet. They win prizes every year (on display behind the bar). Several of the sorbets are vegan (marked) including lots of fruits, and dark chocolate! The flavours are rotating and seasonal, and always include a few different quirky options (eg Christmas Pudding at the moment). They will allow tastes, so if you're having a hard time deciding what to order, you can give a few things a go before deciding. They also do coffee and have a few biscuits and things, but really there's only one reason to come here, and that's the gelato/sorbets!

Absolutely delighted with the girls on this morning in Courtenay Place. After being slammed with a 7 hour flight delay and needing to do work with a flat laptop they were not only friendly but also charged my laptop for me. Thanks! Genuinely made a terrible start to the day so much nicer ❤️

We went there for the ice cream. There are plenty of flavours to choose from. Friendly staff. We had the chocolate ice cream which was a bit average.

The quality of the ice cream is as premium as it gets. Their black liquorice ice cream is by far the most impressive I've ever had and they have a rather unique range alongside it as well. I was served by Liam who just made the whole experience of visiting there even better. Thanks, man!

Cant remember how we found this place its been so long that have been going for ice cream here its a little on the expensive side but its our family treat place and everything tastes so good well worth it

Amazing Ice Cream!! Been here multiple times and it's always amazing. Really helpful staff as well, who offer free tastings if you want them. The Stracciatella is a particular favourite. Yum!!

Friendly staff that let you try flavours before buying, but the gelato was oddly icy and watery, and melts very quickly (got a scoop of stracciatella and milk chocolate). The berry flavoured gelatos taste like pure berries, which is too overpowering for my taste but may be right up your alley. Nice bar of nougat for $2.50, a bit too salty for me but you may like it.

Good selection of delicious ice cream, also some vegan sorbets. Waffle cones are great. Coffee is good. Staff are friendly even when its super busy. Seating for couples and larger groups not heaps though. Reasonably priced for portion sizes

Ice cream is wonderful but often the one you've become addicted to isn't there. All big businesses know reliability is the key to customer satisfaction, a Big Mac is always exactly the same & available anywhere on earth. It may be interesting to experiment and make lots of different flavors but from a customer perspective this can be frustrating. I have seen super-hip restaurants taking pride in never serving exactly the same thing on TV overseas but doubt it will catch on. Just trying to be helpful.

Delicious and amazing variety of gelato. It is always exciting seeing the different flavours each time I walk past. The dessert deals are really good value for money.

The cats who work here are so awesomely friendly, and super knowledgeable about every flavour. Make sure you try a few before committing to your cone or cup! Such a treat in autumn or winter, when your brain might tell you "ice cream only on a sunny day".

Wow! I love ice cream, I’d consider myself an authority on good ice cream. This is amazing ice cream. I’m always apprehensive on well rated ice cream shops as people tend to rant and rave over the most mediocre of local places; however, this is not the case with Kaffe Eis. The single thing I could say negative about it is the store is small and if you wanted to sit and enjoy your ice cream you might not be able to. However, the Ice cream itself is worth it. Creamy, amazing flavors, it tastes fresh and delicious and the yoghurt flavors are delicious and you can really taste the tartness of the yoghurt. This is without a doubt the best ice creamery I’ve been to in New Zealand. And the price is very reasonable. My hat’s off to them. Go here! You won’t be disappointed.

Not the best ice cream available but it is pretty damn nice. There's a lot of different flavours and the price isn't that bad at all! Staff are super friendly and it's a really cosy atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

A ‘gigantic’ single gelato costs only $4.80. Great staff. Some seating inside. You’ll never get a single gelato for this price elsewhere. A wide selection of treats available as well (doesn’t seem homemade though). Another great point is that it’s opens 7 days a week from 7.30am till late. I’d definitely visit again. :D

Kafee Eis has an amazing atmosphere. Coffee, sweets, but their best product is their gelato. Generous helpings and tastes amazing. Best i have ever had. Huge variety of gelato. Definitely will be going again. prices are amazingly low for the serving, and sales are often Overall, definitely recommend.

Good coffee, and a good selection of ice creams. I tasted some of the ice creams and found them to be quite sweet, aimed for children not adults, ie not sour or interesting, so went with the chocolate flavour in the end.

Had just done my 94th blood donation so I deserved a treat. Flat white, white choc and macadamia biscuit, plus a tub of apple and cinnamon gelato. Not very nutritious I know but it sure as hell tasted nice!

Gelato is unquestionably superior to ice-cream, however Kaffe Eis didn't have as much... selection as I was really hoping. Hard to describe exactly what I mean; overall the store is rather small and slightly expensive but really it's not too bad.

Excellent ice cream with a good range to choose from...but it's tiny and crowded so your best bet is to get your ice cream and eat elsewhere... It's a pity because there's definitely a market for a nice ice cream / coffee cafe of a larger size (with outside and/or garden seating).

Five-star ice cream. All of the flavors I've tried taste beautifully balanced and natural. Hazelnut, black sesame, feijoa, salted caramel and tiramisu to name some examples. Tips: You can buy a 0.5 liter container and fill it with several different flavors. Nice and cheerful for sharing.

I needed to share. Picture this... It's Monday morning, the air is thick with the dread of your usual morning pile of work to do. What disasters await? I decided to unusually start with a coffee before tackling things, but with no coffee in the office where would I go? The warm lit windows of Kaffee Eis beckoned and the smiles of the team as I entered lit the room even more. A vanilla latte takeaway was my order. I resign myself to adding flavour to mask whatever terrible thing they were about to do to coffee (plus honestly I love sweet lattes). They made it super fast and holding it I left feeling the warmth of the cup ease the Monday dread. Then I sipped. Oh god... What did I just taste? I went back again. My eyes rolled back in my head with the pure delight of waves of perfect coffee dancing on my tongue. I nearly swore it was so good. Hot velvety smooth and sweet. Bless you guys. You infinitely improved my morning and you've made a repeat customer out of me. Thanks! *wish I knew their names to thank them personally. Happened on 20/8/18 @ 10.30am. Please give them my thanks.

Good ice cream option in the city.

Kafee Eis now has two locations in Wellington, the larger new one on Cuba St and the original on Courtney place. They offer a delicious range of gelato which they will kindly let you sample if you can't decide on a flavour. They also make great coffee. I find it best to combine both in a affogato.

This coffee shop is similar to its sister in Cuba Street and serves the same, quality gelato. Their award-winning gelato, Indian Summer can be found here (not available in Cuba). You'll always find customers making a bee-line for their gelato, no matter what weather or season is prevailing. It's refreshing to find "new" flavours on the market, such as the Feijoa gelato which is slightly sour.

Nice place but sadly Courtney Place at night is looking tired.

Many thanks to the wonderful guy on duty at Oriental Bay early thismorning who not only let me use his phone to txt home but also made me a coffee as well , knowing I would pay for it tomorrow. In the hippie neighborhood. Offers tables and both for dine in customers. You can actually sit down and have your ice cream in this shop. Toilet within too. Best gelato in town, they have other shops on oriental parade and two more at queens wharf. bonbonrocher- ice cream version of ferero rocher- is a must try!
