I had a pleasant experience, even better because I was attended by a compatriot (Chilean), passionate about wine and with a lot of energy to share and show the quality of the vines. I did the wine tasting, totally recommended. My favorites ones were the Mistral and the Riesling. Thanks to Gerald for his great kindness and good energy.

We were part of a wine club group who had booked a tour and tasting. Fascinating story of the founder (who was working away in the vineyards behind us) and the passion and precision that drives him to offer an astounding array of wines from a very modest plot. Herzog have a very different offering to what are considered "Marlborough" wines and is all the better for it. Great host/guide (Thanks Maria) who was very knowledgeable, very entertaining and engaging. The tasting itself was well thought through in glimpsing some of the wines on offer. Highly recommended.

Absolutely exquisite! This cottage is absolutely stunning. Would highly recommend, so much character and finesse, from all the little details (high end linen, bath robes, coffee, arrange of tea, fresh flowers). Beautiful interior design. The team at Herzog were so friendly and welcoming. We made the most of using the bikes they had on offer to pop around to the local vineyards. Highly recommend the breakfast option, delicious! We hope to return in the near future!

Awesome wine experience, highly recommended! Gerald was a great host, knowledgeable, answered all my questions, showed me around and explained me how everything started here in Marlborough for Hans Herzog (I actually got to meet him too!). Comes without saying the place itself is amazing, nice, chilled vibe in the relaxing garden, could have spent the whole day there! ... and the wines!!!!

Outstanding and friendly service. We visited last year and the tour and restaurant was the highlight of our trip. We returned this year, knowing the restaurant was closed but platters and the service by french waiter/account was exceptional. Don’t miss this beautiful small organic vineyard.

We had a wonderful food and wine experience yesterday. Highly recommend having the wine tasting/tour before Lunch. It was so informative and having the person who works in the vines also explaining everything to you was fantastic. Food was gorgeous (Salmon and Pea risotto-yummy) and service perfect. Thank you Hans and Therese and Herzog's Team-my guests were blown away.

Beautiful setting. Knowledgeable staff. One can tell Mr Herzog is passionate and trying to do some unusual and exciting things. A great garden in courtyard presenting mini vines and interesting information about each grape type.

We enjoyed a fabulous night in the Rose Cottage and a most excellent dinner in the restaurant. The Cottage is a very special experience and I highly recommend both it and the restaurant. The Herzogs are lovely hosts, the staff are welcoming and attentive, the food is divine and the wines even better.

The wine at the tasting was delicious but don't expect to get your money's worth... $15 to taste 3 wines is pretty steep compared to everything else around there. The bartender was very friendly.

I just had the nicest dinner at the Bistro. The food was excellent. Alex selected the finest wines by the glass to compliment my dinner. He was extremely knowledgeable and selected the perfect Herzog wines to match each dish. The blueberry tart was just delicious.

Dining at Herzog's is always special, service from the staff is exceptional; ambiance is great; food of a high standard except not sure about the desert - mushrooms really? Call us old-fashioned but no-one in our group of 3 thought it worked.

My wife and I had the wine tour and degustation. The Sommelier was knowledgable and easy company both before and during dinner. The staff were excellent and attentive and the food was exceptional. Linden Estate, Margaret River, is our yardstick and Hans Herzog would push it for honours. Both serve a great and varied wine selection with keenly matched foods to stimulate the senses. Highly recommend.

Beautiful setting if you’re having lunch, however just tasting is disappointing. It all felt upmarket, serious and pretentious without having the wines to back it up. $10 is better spent at Cloudy Bay, not so uptight and far more generous, or better still try the wineries with free tastings and actually break a smile or two (Bladen).

Had the opportunity to dine, with friends, from the Bistro Menu earlier this week. The service and the wine were excellent Everyone at my table enjoyed their entree's and their deserts. However we were all disappointed with the main courses. The chicken was slightly underdone, the fish was dry and over cooked. The side salad was a handful of salad greens and nothing else. The side dish of seasonal vegetables was only a bowl of corn on the cob. We felt that both side dishes needed more variety (salad items and vegetables).

Next level divine. A true artist. The landscaped designed garden was delightful. We strolled in and left three hours later. Firstly the wine tour stimulated our enquiring minds. Then...heaven... We chose a two course meal with matching wines. Just exquisitely deliscious. Our only regret we didnt choose the five course with matching wines. Friendly knowledgeable professional staff. I have visited Hans Herzog a couple of times, last winter for the pizza nights and I have just been back recently for the degustation menu, all occasions have been amazing, a really cosy dining experience. The spirit of Marlborough is a must try for anyone- Best red I’ve ever I’ve ever tasted!

A very close second to Haikai - this was for a long time the best meal we have experienced and still the no 1 Vineyard we have been to. Spirit of Marlborough will take some beating and will pretty much always bee our favorite red. If you can experience this, do not think twice it wont be regretted!

We visited in Feb '16 for the vineyard tour and dinner. The food was fantastic and quite reasonably priced for a Michelin starred establishment. We'll definitely return when we are in the area again.

I also must dispute Mr Apollo S, anyone who knows what a McDonalds anything is like, is not qualified to review real food. We had lunch on the 14th of November 2013 and could not have had a more spectacular venue or more stunning food. The service was efficient, without being obtrusive. Next time we are in the Marlborough region, we will make time to dine there again. We are planning to order wine to be delivered to Australia, even though we do have some beautiful wines over here.
