I met Herb through his son in 2014/2015 where I was planning on taking the next step with my now wife. I had a look at other jewelers, and they all seemed to be generic and overly expensive. Going to Herb and Sandra, I was greeted with a very family orientated atmosphere where your ideas and opinions were heard, adopted, and executed. Herb took my rough sketch and many inspirational pictures and created works of art in the form of a beautiful engagement ring and wedding bands. Herb and Sandra, it was a pleasure working with you. What you have created is unique and I believe that it will become a family heirloom for future generations. I look forward to working with you on other projects in the future.

Could not rave more highly about Herb and the rings he has designed my now husband and I! Firstly, he created the most stunning engagement ring which I was blown away by. Then when I came with ideas for my wedding band, he not only ran with it but created something so much more beautiful than I could have hoped. I felt educated and fully a part of the process all throughout. My husband was also presented with so many options for wedding bands, and was able to create something unique but also stunning! We couldn't recommend Herb enough!

Herb made my engagement ring but he can do anything you want and like. He is a honest and reliable professional and he takes pride for doing a nice job. He doesn't handle/sell cheap materials like zirkonia. I would recommend him anytime! If you also like something more peculiar than the standard he is the right one 💥

I wanted to get my ring fixed which entailed reenforcing a tiny chain link across the band. I came to Herb after another jeweler said the job couldn’t be done (or they wouldn’t do it). He was honest with me explaining the intricate details of the task and the risk involved with repairing the unique piece. After chatting for a bit I felt confident leaving the special gift with him. About a week later I picked it up and am so happy he was able to do what others wouldn’t try. And now I know a bit more about my delicate ring and how to care for it. I found Herb through a fb recommendation and went in thinking I would need to redo my entire wedding and engagement rings (purchased elsewhere). Herb listened to what I wanted, asked why exactly I wanted to redo and then came up with an extremely cost effective yet fantastic modification that truly met my requirements 💞 It's been over 10 years since I have watched someone sketch a jewellery piece to such detail right in front of me. Brought back so many memories ⭐ Excellent service. Truly understands what you Really want out of a jewellery item that you are originally unhappy with. I'm very happy with the process and will update with the end item 😄 Update: Just collected my ring. It is gorgeous and so comfortable to wear now. I am extremely pleased with Herb's craftsmanship and service.

I approached Herb to design and make the perfect engagement ring for my partner. We had a couple of initial consultations and Herb kept me updated throughout the whole process. The finished product was better than anything I had imagined at our first consultation. Truly fantastic craftmanship and excellent finish. My now fiancé was blown away with her ring and we are now in the process of having our wedding bands designed and made by Herb. We have had a brilliant experience with Herb Merkle Design, and can’t recommend Herb highly enough. Several years ago Herb designed and made our engagement and wedding rings, and since then has crafted other fine jewellery for us and our family members. On every occasion, Herb transforms our vision into exquisite reality. Nothing is ever too much trouble; Herb works to our budget and revises his design until we are perfectly happy. I was fortunate to have had my engagement ring and our wedding bands designed and made by Herb 29 years ago. I was wanting to have a claw check on my ring after all these years and a potential overhaul if required. Also looking for a piece to be made to compliment my existing rings. Herb was so easy to work with and my engagement ring was still in fantastic condition due to excellent craftmanship, even though it has never left my finger over the past 29 years. I wanted a really special piece for my wedding ring, something out of the ordinary. I gave Herb my precious engagement ring, plus a few other diamonds from jewelry that I never wear and asked him to design something special. It was a bit nerve-wracking as obviously an engagement ring is a thing very close to your heart. Herb was fabulous, took some time, and crafted the most gorgeous bespoke ring and I honestly could not be happier. Well done Herb, you were kind and understanding, thoughtful and creative. I gave you a tough job and I'm so delighted with the ring I will have with me for the rest of my life.

Herb creates beautiful, finely crafted jewellery. He’s always professional and has a very supportive & open approach. I have had both new pieces and repairs on antique jewellery done by Herb over many years. I’m always impressed with his honesty and care. I would highly recommend him.
