H.My fiance and I recently visited Louis to have our wedding bands made. My fiance had my engagement ring made overseas, so we were a bit unsure where to begin when looking for a jeweller in Auckland to make our wedding bands. We both had fairly clear ideas of what we wanted but also wanted some guidance and help with the design process.
We found out about Louis through friends of a friend who had recently had their wedding bands made by him. After a quick look at his reviews, we were interested in meeting with Louis as it clear that his prices were great. After meeting Louis, and in the short time we worked with him, it became clear to us that not only are his prices considerably better than any other jeweller in Auckland (we paid less than a third of what we had been quoted by another jeweller!), but he is surely one of the best and most experienced jewellers in the city. Louis invited us to be present in his workshop with him throughout almost the whole process, which allowed us total control over how the rings looked and gave us peace of mind that we were going to end up with rings we loved. We were even able to have hands-on involvement in some steps of the process, which was a really fun experience!
If champagne and an instagram-worthy showroom are important parts of the experience to you, then Louis's down to earth and no frills approach might not be the right fit for you. But if what you want is a hands-on, involved experience, a fantastic price, and beautifully handcrafted jewellery, then I cannot recommend Louis enough. We would come back to him time and time again. V.Louis is really a master goldsmith with great Swiss pride when it comes to his work! We love the wedding bands he made for us and thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the process too.
R.Doesn't get any better than this, Louis is a true artisan who helped design the perfect ring for both myself and my wife. Her ring draws inspiration from her engagement ring (the same one her great grandmother was given) and mine is hand engraved with mountains from my home town. Both pieces are exceptional and valued far more than Louis charged. He is a gentleman who cares for every part of the ring making process and has been doing this his entire life. We were privileged enough to be able to be involved in the ring making process, melting the gold ourselves and designing our rings. Wouldn't ever consider going anywhere else for any jewellery having found Louis.
N.If you want quality bespoke jewellery beautifully hand crafted from a honest and experienced Goldsmith, look no further. The end result exceeded my expectations and very fair pricing. He takes real pride in what he does and I cannot recommend him enough.

A.Louis is great! He is passionate, extremely skilled and honest. He's a Swiss trained jeweller who's been designing and making handmade jewellery for decades. His prices are very reasonable, and he is not interested in marking up the price just because it is an engagement ring. He doesn’t factor in expensive marketing or sales people into his price – he just charges you for his time and materials. Everything is made by hand (most of the rings in jewellery shops are made by a computer), which makes it extra special.
We had a mock ring that we wanted replicated, and he crafted our ring to look exactly like the computer generated one. So clever! We were also involved with parts of the process like melting the precious metals. It's immersive, traditional and very personalised. I would highly recommend Louis, especially if you are after a unique experience and want an authentic handmade ring.
F.I was introduced to Louis after buying a second-hand diamond wedding ring from Webb’s that needed resizing. I was initially nervous to melt down the ring and add more diamonds but when I saw the finished product I was amazed. It was just perfect. He also made my husband’s ring, which wasn’t high end or fancy, but which was also executed perfectly (just as I’d asked for). Louis also made bespoke cuff links for my husband’s groomsmen. He is a one in a million jeweller, incredibly skilled and also a very nice man. I’ve recommended him to several people and they’ve all had equally brilliant experiences. Trust Louis for all your jewellery creations, repairs and excellent value gold plating.

Y.Louis is an exceptional jeweler and artist. He handmade our wedding bands and enegagment rings. Don't be discouraged by the non flashy front shop. He is exceptional at what he does and will fine tune your masterpiece to perfection. He's not like other 'jewellers' in New Zealand where he will start the process from beginning to end with no use of a computer or moulds. We have been very satisfied customers. Thanks louis!
