Went for lunch. Got a chicken wrap. Best chicken wrap ever, flavor ,texture and heat. Staff are very courteous and professional. Owner works there just as one of the other staff, so a relaxed environment for all oh the coffee is to die for Top 1o coffees in town

Initial impressions are nice setting anidst plants. Cafe Manager needs to designate a staff member to disinfect and thoroughly clean tables and floors. Particularly with Covid conditions hygene needs to be improved. Recommend cheese rolls!

Most impressed with this garden centre. We bought a putted plant for an elderly cousin. The staff member took great care to wrap the plant with coloured paper that matched the plant colour perfectly. My cousin loved it. Thank you so mich

I was looking for someone to help me but all staff were more interested in talking to each other or pottering around than paying attention to customers. And I had to tell them 3 times what I wanted because they kept on suggesting inappropriate solutions. So, pretty normal retail experience I suppose 😉

For all the mums out there, here's a photo of the mini playground (just what's in the photo). It's not part of the cafe (just around the corner, inside the shop), so you can't sit and watch your child. It's also rather small, but well made. Best for slightly older kids who can climb up the structures.

Really helpful staff that went above and beyond for a gift for someone in the city. We ordered a plant and a gift card online and then had to purchase a plant over the phone. Since we were overseas we put our full trust in the staff to select an appropriate plant pot and then get it to the right place. The pot combined with the succulent was stunning and I give full credit to Nichol's and the team for sorting this out for me. I purchased it in the afternoon and it was delivered the same day, amazing! I can't wait to get back to Dunedin eventually and shop at Nichol's again like old times! Thank you so much again for the top notch communication.

A great place to buy garden goods, and pet supplies. I went to wash my dog at the outdoor dog wash. This facility is fab especially after the beach when pooch has rolled in seal smells!!! Bad pooch. Bright side I had time for a coffee and slice afterwards while bonzo sulked, p.s. he was allowed in the outdoor area of the Cafe.

In the last month I've been purchasing a variety of of product and plants for my garden. The young guys who help shift and lift the heavy stuff are amazingly helpful and polite. Well done Nicolas on employing a great team. Made my visits there very easy and stress free that I didn't have to lift all the heavy bags myself.

I've been doing a lot of presentation prep for a property sale. Part of that was a lot of bark chip, clean metal and driveway chip, to make gardens and parking spaces look good. Nichols fills your trailer while you cough up your cash and have a delivery service with a 3 ton tip truck. The driver dropped my product right where it was needed and offered some spot on advice on how to sort out my vehicle parking spaces with stable, well draining fill, so I want to give that guy a special shout out. Obviously there's the cafe and you can take you pooch but I was pretty focused on my job and these guys got me loaded and out the door as fast as they could. I stacked up some Nichols loyalty points, too, and my partner will no doubt make use of those.

Great place, but be wary when purchasing the topsoil, it's full of sand and stones. If you don't want that, bear this in mind :) It does suggest to include a compost mix which is probably a good idea.

The staff here really know their stuff, more so than other garden stores in town, and beyond what can be looked up in the book. Nichols has a wide range and they can order in plants to suit your needs. The higher prices definantly reflect a higher quality of product.

Was looking for a particular tree.Phoned andvisited all the Nurseies in Dunedin and Mosgiel and even though Nicholls didnt have it in stock.they went out of there way to source it for me.They phoned me back and confirmed they could get it for me in less than a week. The Pet Center went above and beyond for us. They sourced out a much needed specialized funnel for pet transport carriers, which we needed desperately before our flight. Nowhere in New Zealand sells these things individually, and not even the big stores sourced them out for us, like Animates. The cherry on top is that they just gave them to us for free!!! Absolutely astounding service! THANK YOU SO SO VERY MUCH!!!!! Life savers!!! :D :D

Nichols is a nicer shopping experience than the "big box" stores like bunnings and mitre ten, but the quality seems similar and it is definitely more expensive. It's worth a visit though, the in store cafe (good oil) is worth a visit, it's far better than the big box store equivalents.
