Palmers St James have exceptional service. I mostly seen to go when they're busy but the team are always smiling (even under their masks!) And very helpful with information on plants and products. Dog friendly is a bonus too!

I love their cafe and their store settting. I have gained some wonderful gardening ideas from Palmers. Unfortunately for this thrifty gardener, their merchandise is more expensive than the likes of the big Hardware stores in Hamilton. Especially for bulk bags of Potting mix, compost and the likes. I have managed to purchase some really great gifts for other gardener friends and relatives from Palmers. And I do love the health of their plants, especially fruit trees and Vegetables. Worth paying a little extra for. Their indoor plants are also very healthy, and reasonably priced

Lots of variety here, from home decor, gift ware, fab cafè but not an overabundance of plants. Probably a good mix for the area where homes have little to no garden, as is current fashion. Good seed range however and excellent garden support selection (ferts, irrigation, tools etc). Friendly, helpful staff.

It was nice to be in! Love the environment because you’ll see plants everywhere. So if you love plants and nature it’s a beautiful place to be in! I also noticed that dogs / pets are allowed too!!!! That’s amazing!!!! This place was very beautiful....It’s Amazing and the food is good as well!

Nice store with good parking however couldn't find what I was looking for. No signs for hedging which made it quite hard. I found the hedging in the end but it wasn't what I was after. Not greeted by any staff despite wandering around for some time. Ended up going to Palmers Frankton who were a lot more helpful.

Thanks for the staff who help us to load the big pots on to the cart and to drain the water inside. And the check out lady who even offered us some plastic sheets to put into the car boot so that the pot is not going to soil it. Thank you very much for the excellent service !!

Was meeting family members for lunch at Botannix Cafe today at 12.30pm so decided to go in a bit earlier and have a look round the inside area first. Clean and tidy, well spaced out display areas. Downside was the houseplants are quite a bit more expensive than the likes of Mitre10 and Bunnings. $5.49 for a baby houseplant compared to $3.98 at Mitre10, and from the same supplier (printed on colour label). Bigger houseplants also more expensive. Botannix Cafe - Not a lot left in the way of cabinet food at 1230pm, so just had a side dish of fries with aioli. Nice flavour and quantity of chips but not enough aioli, needed twice the amount. Only half the fries got dunked (lightly) before it ran out. Menu pretty much the same as Columbus Cafes at Mitre10 stores (eg, Angus burger with caramalised onion and salad that a neighbouring customer had, looked identical to one I'd had at Columbus several months ago). Other menu items also very similar. While having lunch, noticed a woman who had just finished her lunch, get up and let her tan/white Cavalier King Charles Spaniel pee on a display a few feet from her table and then just walked off (yes dogs are allowed in there apparently). She had seen the dog doing it but couldn't have cared less. Did not attemp to clean it up or ask a staff member for assistance. She only came back a couple of minutes later as she'd left her phone behind on the table. Selfish entitled ***** is all I can say. No respect for anyone else or their property. I told a staff member after I'd finished lunch, what had happened so hopefully it got cleaned up, otherwise it would stink right next to the cafe. After lunch went outside to look around the pots and plants. Nice displays and laid out well but again plants are quite a bit dearer here than other places. Potted colour 80¢ dearer than Bunnings for same thing from same suppliers, along with other plants, perennials, shrubs etc. Nice to catch up with family. Was an OK outing but nothing spectacular.

Love this place... coffee good.. but get rid of glasses.. mugs are much better... food selection good... would like to see table service.. rather than trying to find a menu and then order at counter... unfortunately todays cheese cake had too much gelatine in it.. there are better recipes.. look for keg cheese cake... otherwise good time.. we will be back..
