Stunning scenery. Well worth the walk down the hill through the gardens to the river. There are hidden gems all throughout the gardens, ponds, sculptures and incredible views. Take your togs for a dip in the river at the bottom of the gardens, pack a picnic and spend some time. Freedom camping is allowed in the carpark also

Amazing hillside garden next to a river-bend. A well-maintained and fully restored garden with lots of interesting touches, with brightly coloured flowers and trees, and some water features. With some stunning views and the charming cottage and gardener's hut, the garden is a must on visit itinerary to New Plymouth. There's bbq and picnic spots as well. Highly recommended.

This place goes above and beyond, and it's free to visit. Beautifully designed and cared for gardens with a special sense of history. Our visit - during the Garden Spectacular Festival - was enhanced with brass band playing and asparagus rolls.

Calm relaxing. Walk through the park for a refreshing time. The description of the place took me back in time. It was a different experience from usual parks.
