What a fantastic venue! Quality of service from Chris, the manager, was great especially when we enquired about spa services and he came up to deliver the menu for the service. Room was impeccable, spotlessly cleaned and well laid out. The use of Real World products was a great touch! Note: Would be awesome if there was a bit more warmth from Ashlee at reception upon our arrival. She was polite and courteous but would’ve loved a friendly smile and human connection to get her customer service to the next level.

Great central location. Friendly staff and well appointed rooms. Unfortunately the gym is down the road at Flex Fitness which is closed most of the weekend. If you like Italian food walk down the street to Alessandros, it's the best spot in Havelock North.

I had the opportunity of having a room on the fourth floor which overlooked the beach. Room was roomy with a king size bed and a couple of comfy seats and y able inside plus table and chairs on the patio

Amazing place to stay. We had to work down Napier/Hastings and needed a place that was quite and peacefull. This place is central to some amazing restaurants. Service was on point, rooms spacious and very clean/tidy. High level on all accounts. Definitely stay here when down here.

Firstly, wow, I didn’t expect this when booking here, the staff are friendly and the rooms sky-rocketed my expectations, the room is cleaned to a perfectionist standards. Decent places to eat outside and a great private parking underground.

Lovely hotel for the discerning traveler. Beautifully decorated and appointed rooms. Immaculately clean and well maintained. Loved the use of locally made products such as Real World toiletries and Hawthorne Coffee. Convenient location. Could not fault.

I spent two nights in Porters with my family. The hotel location is awesome nearby almost everything you need including laundry and supermarket (beside all kinds of restaurants). The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. They didn't keep any effort to make us feel comfortable and give us recommendations for beaches and other places. The rooms were very clean and big enough to fit our small family for a very comfortable stay. We loved staying there and we would go back some day.

Porters is a beautiful place to stay. We chose a bigger room with separate lounge and a bathroom with a bath & shower. There is everything you want in the room with TV's in both bedroom and lounge, full functioning kitchen, mini bar with snacks and the decor was simple yet elegant. It did feel luxurious and was worth the extra cost. The restaurant, Malo based next door is also worth a visit. Parking is available underneath and reception is happy to assist with tour bookings and suggestions for local activities.

We went for business, but the rooms are so good we would stay there again in a heartbeat for pleasure. Short walk to the spot on Maina Cafe, loads of shops wine bars and great restaurants within 3 minute walk. take the 4 minutes to walk to Hawthorne coffee , or if later in day pop in next door to Delciosia as dusk settles. You wont regret it.

Rooms were actually very nice. Plenty of amenities. The area is good too, in the middle of a shopping area. Staff were friendly and checkin was fast. Unfortunately no buffet breakfast on offer but there is a cafe on the ground floor.

An unexpected surprise in Havelock North. Decoration of the rooms was very well tho8ght of, spacious, warm, welcoming; illumination great for a might read, it comes with free wifi, complimentary coffee and tea. Great accommodation for a very reasonable price.

The food was amazing. Great flavours, well cooked and quality ingredients. Nice atmosphere and professional staff. If the Chardonnay had been a little less cold and the table a little bigger I would have gone 5-star.

Excellent hotel and highly recommended. The room is spacious with all the amenities you will need, charging points conveniently located beside the bed, a nice balcony where we can enjoy the view, and an oversized toilet. It also has a basement carpark, which is very important for us. There is lift access directly from the basement carpark to our room. Security is good, with card access required to enter the basement carpark after 7pm, and card access is also needed to enter the hotel from the basement carpark. Location is excellent, within walking distance from a supermarket, cafes, and various retail stores. The restaurant, Malo, where we had dinner, was also fantastic. Reception staff are friendly and helpful, always smiling and greeting us when we walk past them.

Cost and quiet. Nice stay.

Best hotel in Provincial New Zealand by far. Modern, Clean, Tidy, central, comfortable and clean. Most of the amenities and services of a marriott or a hyatt. Free laundry, 24 hour front desk, i could keep on going! No swimming pool or gym though, hence the 4 stars, otherwise simply cannot fault. Not a single one. Full stop.

Special. Stephane Tran Trung really knows hospitality. Makes you feel so good.

I travel to Havelock for business on a regular basis. The Hotel is a great place to stay. The Hotel staff are wonderful and I cannot compliment them enough for making every trip seamless and comfortable. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they always do their absolute best to make my stay an enjoyable one. The rooms are always clean. Great size rooms and bathroom. For those that love their sport (like me) they have Foxtel Sport channels too not just the standard package. I would highly recommend Porters to anyone who is travelling to Havelock and needing accommodation. Malo is the restaurant attached to the hotel which has incredible food and wine and the staff extremely attentive and customer focused.
