Reviews of University of Auckland General Library
R.
There are massive changes occurring at the University of Auckland library. There's an intense amount of new building for the sciences and engineering but nothing for the arts and humanities.
Some essential queries:
Why is the Thomas building not being restored?
Why has there been no new development of the main library in Alfred Street?
What plans are in train to replace the Maidment Arts Centre?
Why has the rating of this University decreased?
S.
Way better than Auckland City Library.
As a library they provide PREMIUM level books for studying.
Personal computers are clean and have lots of memory.
Internet is speedy and WiFi is very reliable.
No homeless people around, hence no bellowing,
no harassment, no loitering.
Staff are extremely polite (whereas Auckland City Library staff haft
atrocious manners).
Ladies and gentlemen, I invite thee to this library.
How about quitting Auckland City Library?
D.
A great place for studying, but don't be surprised if the atmosphere gets ruined by a few students who think it's okay to talk when everyone else is quiet. Sometimes you would also hear a weird white noise or clacking sound that's very hard to describe. They have heating on sometimes and many floors available for you to find a table. Although there is a large selection of books, most people come here to study instead of browsing.
A.
Overall a pleasant experience. The fleshy substance in the halls was of little concern. The wailing atrium was just as described. The public servants of His Grace of the library kept their distance sufficiently.
A.
One of the finest collection of academic resources I have encountered throughout my academic life in the UK, India, and now in New Zealand. This library is furthermore staffed with an expert team of librarians, support staff, and administrators that make every experience of remote and campus learning a joy. Lifetimes can be spent reading and viewing the wealth of resources on offer here and there would be enough for lifetimes more. This is, veritably, Auckland's most understated attraction.
A.
A very peaceful place for quiet, study time. Offers a huge selection of books as well
J.
Good academic library with a range of different subject areas. Most books are on the shelf but others needed to be ordered from storage. Recent books may not have a physical copy but rather be available through the computers there. Fines are pretty steep.
M.
The good: Quiet, resourceful, clean environment, good for studying
The bad: Complex building structure for someone who's new, sometimes always packed and worst of all is the slow WiFi with 1 Mb down speed and <1 Mb up speed.
z.
Good library with many facilities, but old building and uncomfortable chairs. Usually you can't have access to plug your laptop to the power.
I.
Very helpful staff. Had a librarian kindly help me search for seven books. Three of the books were hard copy and she looked for those books herself due to my eyesight disability. Really appreciated it
S.
Excellent academic library, quiet and well arranged.
L.
This library has gained a a very negative public profile in national media. It was once a great library.
Nowadays? Who would agree? Perhaps not too many.
By closing 3 nationally significant research libraries there will be an inevitable reduction in regard for this facility.
Thousands of stakeholders have not been heard or even been recognised as stakeholders.
What an unfortunate miasma for a university desperate for a public regard.
Staff and students have been ignored in such a comprehensive manner.
Is this university proactively investing in a further downgrade of its international standing by reducing its research facilities?
J.
The security guard is really friendly. However, due to my late reaction, the automatic doors open and hit me in the face :( Also, there's a lot of old books and not enough new ones, please consider this thanks!

"Lee Young Jun PEN ART"
Pen Art(General Remarks)
Infinity of lines and dots have symbolism. Such symbolism is ever changing according to the spirit’s depth. All works are kaleidoscopic; they are usually composed of indescribable expressions. Therefore, art’s depth also can be said to be unlimited. Is pen art’s depth also infinite? In other words, do the lines and dots flowing from the nib of a pen have an artistic qualification? In this respect, it is worth thinking deeply. Pen art begins from an essence of nature’s fundamental values. From the standpoint of value, or color, a harmony of black and white is essential in nature. As it is impossible to see any color in darkness, distinguishing color is an essential role of light. That is why the soul is drawn to light. Whiteness, or light is a spiritual reflection of the soul while blackness, or darkness is a reality of life on earth. As the color green is an essential color of vegetation, burnt charcoal is an earthy color that will stay near black. Blackness is heterogeneous and may be hostile to life. If blackness belongs to the essence of nature, it also may be said to represent the image of death. A combination of black and white constitutes degrees of lightness and darkness. When painting black on a white background, the soul is transported to the white background. Whiteness comes to life when contrasted with black line and black space. In this case, soul also may be expressed through the blackness. Soul may be transported to the black or a combination of white and black, which shed a mysterious merit to the soul or spirit. Pen arts starts and ends from an essence of nature’s fundamental contrasts. The primary essence is infinite and eternal while the artistic harmony of black and white can take one’s breath away. But, this is not possible until a metamorphosis has been realized over many years and spiritual transcendence has occurred. The transfer of spirit occurs when one’s life experiences are projected onto the white canvas in harmony with blackness. That is the true ‘pen art.’
