Reviews of Kaiapoi Library and Service Centre

In December, we were biking from Amberley to Christchurch with our children and needed help finding the bike trail out of Kaiapoi. It was raining, and we were cold, tired and frustrated by the lack of signage on our journey. When we saw signs for they library, we decided to stop and ask for help. They ladies at the information counter were fantastic!! So welcoming, friendly and helpful even though we were dripping wet and they didn't know the answer off hand. They tried lots of avenues to find the answer for us. And, though it was my husband who finally found the answer after 15 minutes of searching on google, we left with our spirits lifted and smiles on our faces. Thank you for your concern and commitment to trying to help us. You really made our day!

Staff are always so nice. I only had a minute to look for books so took a grab bag (5 books in a genre chosen by the librarians). Thank you for always making my library experience a lovely one

Great library! We are so lucky to have this library in Kaiapoi. Usually there's a computer free to use for the internet. There's a free JP service once a week and staff who are more than happy to help. Thank you!

We were welcomed by staff who were obviously keen to help us and to make us feel welcome. The library is a great facility, staffed by people who obviously know and love books. They have modern facilities, and coupled with the museum in the same building and its research centre the venue has great facilities for the budding historian. The museum is fascinating with excellent local history and artifacts. The Council also has an office on site, where visitors can get information on Council service, advice on building bylaws, and you can also access services.
One of the highlights was the jigsaw table where we got stuck adding to the communal jigsaw. We stopped to put in a few pieces, and left over an hour later having filled quite a lot of the picture.
Well worth a visit if you're down this way.

Beautiful Library but with so much more to offer in terms of local history and general NZ history and the staff are Fabulous!

Helpful, friendly staff in library. Warm and cozy when it's cold and wet during the school holidays.

I received brilliant service. Nothing was too much trouble for the lady who assisted me in joining up with library or the other assistant who also helped me in finding suitable authors for my taste. Thanks.
