Reviews of Wanaka Library
C. S.Would’ve sat here for longer if I had the time to. There were lots of reading chairs and sofas interspersed through the shelves, with kids and young adults sections, and apparently free computer classes too. There’s also a shelf for the book holds ready for collection 😊
P. C.Very helpful staff and nice books can spend my whole life here :) but people coming are loud not understanding this is library and eating food where it is clear not to include food in library not fault of anybody in that..
T.Staff are great good selection of books. Staff are very helpful to the multitude of unwashed demanding young tourists who have a huge sense of entitlement and hang round in droves for use of the internet . Making the place look like a drug hangout under an L.A overpass. They would be the sniveling whining brats who give this fantastic library and staff low scores as they want everything for free.
S. L.Only place in Wanaka where you can use the computers, which work fine, although use is a bit extortionate. Nice little library with a good range of books. Only thing is that it is very noisy (lots of backpackers and children). Staff were on the whole very pleasant. Expect a frosty demeanour from one of them who probably doesn't like tourists much but what can you do!
A. O.We love our local library even if some tourists don't because of the WiFi issues. Go to New World to get free WiFi. The staff get new books in when requested and are generally very helpful. It's a cosy plaze to hang out and read but also caters for children so sometimes it's busy.
t. a. r.Great library great staff . Remember it is a library first for the locals not an internet cafe . Also there has been a huge problem with people passing through not returning books on loan. Hence the vetting of people who want to loan items.
