Reviews of Te Awe Library
L.
Went in to do some typing on computor. All good. Got a 'Best Seller' as a treat as I was leaving. A treat to keep me going over the next 10 days. Only 5.00.

I love it here. Warm, all staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. So many books. No problem at all to get a book from another library delivered here. I love coming here every week to get out the cold and fill in time. A good book and a coffee is just the best afternoon. Coffee at the cafe here is really good as well.
W.
At first I did not like this library and found it hard to remember its name, but it seems to have grown in character and become better functioning as its matured. Some very sophisticated and expensive books on the second level.
S.
Pros - great wifi, several study areas with charging points and a good variety of magazines and books.
Cons - cafe becomes incredibly noisy during peak times (call me old fashioned, but aren't libraries supposed to be fairly quiet). On all my visits there was the odd homeless person being deliberately disruptive in the quiet areas when others were trying to work.
M.
Excellent staff and great place for adults / children to read !
A.
A well designed space where you can read the paper, do your research, charge your phone, use nice clean toilets. Plenty of room for study and an excellent mini collection.
J.
A vast array of all kinds of books, and much to my delight, dvds also. I haven't used the cafe yet but I spied some yummy foods that I'll be going back for. This library is very popular but due to the way it's set out, it never feels crowded. There are lots of comfy seats to while away your time reading in.

The reinvented Wellington library is in the perfect location. It is calm, full of possibility and wonder. Where else can you go for hours and feel at home? But as closing time looms the staff morph into werewolves. Baring their teeth, their hackles raise if you dear stay a moment after closing time. Yikes!
S.
Great to see a library that has adapted to modern needs. There is a cafe with plenty of seating and also many laptop working areas with power sockets and even USB c power ports.
C.
This is a great library.
HOWEVER - the computers will log you out after about 2 minutes of inactivity.
There is a little dialogue that comes up warning you - but there is no sound accompanying this. So, if you are reading (off-screen) for example, and not touching the PC for 2 minutes - you will be logged out (losing unsaved work).
There IS a sound as the computer is logging you out but by then it’s too late to do anything.
It’s extremely frustrating and could be fixed just be having an Audio / alert to check you are still using the PC.

Great location in town and very convenient to drop into at lunchtime or after work. Te Awe is excellent and would be great if it could stay there after Wellington Library reopens!
L.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Although I did not visit the cafe, it looked nice. Restrooms on site and plenty of seating around.
S.
Great place to work, plug sockets for laptops (which few cafes in Wellington seem to have), really friendly, lovely staff and baristas, bottomless filter coffee :)
T.
