I was looking for wines for my wedding and the guy I spoke to was soooo helpful! He recommended great wines and obviously really knows his stuff. Great selection too. Highly recommend, thank you for the awesome service.

What a well laid out shop! I feel it should be called a higher word than "shop"!! This was my first time at this place and I was most impressed by not only the excellent range of fine wines, but also the knowledge of the owner. I unfortunately didn't get his name, but he certainly was a fountain of knowledge! I will definitely be back 😊

I ordered two bottles for my father for a Father’s Day gift. I ordered the Friday before the Sunday not expecting they would get there in time. Not only were they delivered on the Saturday, they were wrapped and presented beautifully! Will be using you guys again. Fantastic!

I absolutely love this place- I'd move in given half the chance! Haha Kingsley, who owns the place is incredibly knowledgeable on anything & everything to do with wine. Both being huge "big oaky" chardonnay fans- we clearly have exquisite taste!😁 ... and you can always on him, Andrew and the Team to give you great suggestions based on your taste, preferences and price range. In my opinion- this is THE best wine shop in NZ.

Great and varied selection. Excellent prices. Well renowned for their knowledge of all their wines. You won't.do better than by going to First Glass.

Great selection of NZ and international wines, with lots of inexpensive, good value wines, across all categories, through to a small but good selection of premium wines. Very friendly and helpful staff with a huge wealth of wine knowledge and experience to guide you in the right direction towards the wines that will suit your taste. Then there's the Wednesday night weekly in-store tastings that go around the world and provide the chance to taste all sorts of wines that you would never otherwise try, and offers some real gems and really extends your wine experience. Highly recommended...👍

A great place to get a huge selection of quality wines. Service is great and the team there really know their stuff. Haven't been recommended a dud yet.

Very good wines at good prices. Staff are friendly and helpful, with good wine knowledge. They have a wine club with over 100 attend Wednesday nights, with people from none, little, to expert wine knowledge. I attend every week, and taste 11 to 12 White and red Wines from all over the world, blind. in that way you buy what you taste, and like and not persuaded by brands. Also they supply lovely cheese and bread for the evening. Sometimes we have theme nights and visiting wine makers from NZ and Overseas. Good fun night, Kingsley Wood and the team present the wines and asks us questions about them, so you get to know the wines you like and also opens up your pallet to other wines you would never have the opportunity of tasting. I buy my wines there due to the effort he goes to in putting these evenings on, allowing the pallet to grow and enjoyi wines from all over the world for only $15 for the evening. I only miss it if I am away or sick. Come and try great wines, and it's good for the young people learning about wines, and for anyone who wants to enjoy a variety of wines. See you there.

Didn't visit, but spoke to the owner on the phone. I was after a very rare type of wine, and he didn't have it, but he gave me some suggestions and was keen to know where I collected the ones I already have. Great customer service over the phone. Obviously has a passion for wine. Cheers! :-)

Great range of wines, very helpful staff. They also have a fine wine educational evening every Wednesday, starts 7 pm, no booking required, but if wanting a seat it pays to arrive 10-15 min early, cost is $15 for a taste of 11 or 12 wines from very nice glasses, not the small tasting glasses with bread and cheese on offer as a responsible host.

Great wine shop. Huge variety with great prices. We are chardonnay drinkers and there is a good selection for $20 American & NZ. Well worth a visit

Wine tasting on Wednesdays is such a great experience there, so interesting, informative and fun!

Best wine shop on the shore with a huge variety of wines from NZ, Australia, the Americas, Europe etc - especially good if you like Chardonnay and Shiraz
