A.Class, Quality, Wisdom, Hospitality, Value. The visit to this winery was one of the highlights of our trip to the south island because it excelled in all of the above dimensions. I am extremely grateful for taking the time to visit another winery, after the disappointment of Cloudy Bay winery. The first striking thing was that they are offering a larger selection of wines for tasting and the tasting is for free! They are that confident of their wines and for good reason! The woman taking care of us had only began working in the wine industry for 6 months but seemed to have the knowledge decades - that just tells you how much effort they put in educating their staff and how much love their staff has for what they do. The knowledge she transferred to us should be named, wisdom! Most importantly, their wines were MINDBLOWING! I’m not exaggerating. So much that we ended up buying two bottles of Pinor Gris, to take back to the USA! Another crazy thing? Their wine prices are so much lower than Cloudy Bay, while being so much better! No wonder they have been voted in the best 3 wineries in the world! I could not recommend this place enough. You will be treated as a first class guest without the commitment to pay anything, tasting some of the best wines of your life!
D.My boyfriend and I visited the tasting room on a lovely summer afternoon. Adam decried each wine to us in detail, provided lots of fun and historical background, and gave us some local recommendations as well. The wine in incredible, especially the Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. Certainly worth a visit!
K.The best wine tasting experience we had in Marlborough. Delicious wines, free tasting, beautiful location, and above all, amazing and friendly sommeliers who not only told us everything about the wines, and explained how they get their taste, but also gave us tips on what to do in Queenstown and other parts of New Zealand. The tasting was unrushed, chilled and very pleasant throughout, we could have easily spent our day there just enjoying dolce far niente. Best winery in Marlborough, if not in New Zealand.
D.Great sitting outside to enjoy lovely view of vineyards! Great charcuterie board and wine testing. The sitting outside was perfect. It was shaded and breezy. The stuff is extricate knowledgeable about vineyards with details about soil geology and history behind this vineyards. I would say this is a nice spot to relax and have a quick light lunch or afternoon snack. We did not had to wait for a table. They have variety of sitting. Food come relatively quick.

M.What a great winery! The wine is delicious, the scenery is breathtaking. This is a great place to try their black label wines and compare them with the good labels. The tasting does come at no charge which is nice and doesn’t make you feel like you need to buy anything.
M.Wished we had gotten here earlier, the woman leading the tasting was exceptional, happily espousing the wine quality and we were suitably impressed, just is the pity that we are flying, though she did mention their delivery freight option and that will be taken up, cheers and many thanks. Dont leave villa Maria for a late arvo visit.

Our host (wish I remembered his name) was passionate, knowledgeable and patient, even convincing me to try a wine I have never liked, Chardonnay... I ended up buying a bottle!! Beautiful setting and lovely evening!!!!
R.This is in a pretty hacienda-style building with a nice tasting room. We very much enjoyed tasting their wines and especially loved one that's not available in stores. It goes to show it's worth visiting wineries even when you think you know their wines well!
R.Went in without knowing the tasting was complimentary. You can have as many tastings as you're able to drink. The staff was extremely nice and very knowledgable. I was the only person in there for a while before anyone showed up. He also offered a lot of helpful recommendations.

I.We found the Savignion Blanc in Germany about an year ago and loved it. Needless to say that being around we were curious to have a look at the vineyard. Walked in and the host was absolutely briliant and the wine tasting great. The savignion blanc black label can be found only in NZ which is a petty as it is a briliant wine. Keep up the good job and thank you for the free tasting!
