Absolutely divine food and tasty wines. Highly recommend for anyone in region. Excuse the half eaten starter of kahawai pate it was delicious!

Gluten Free deliciousness. Also recommend the lunch platter to share, -they even had GF bread. Heavenly.

My friend who is local brought us to Sovrano for wine tasting when we were up visiting, and I am so glad he did! Was definitely the highlight of my weekend! The host (owner) was a great character with a good sense of humour. Told us about the different varieties of wine. I am in love with the Port.... Need to get me some more.

On a trip to Kerikeri I researched some local wineries on Google and found Ake Ake were open long hours and also had quite an interesting range of products. Upon arrival Maz greeted us in. She's an amazing host and kept us quite engaged during the course of our wine tasting. Her knowledge of the products are exceptional and she has all the skills to make your wine tasting experience a truly memorable one. If you love wine, you wouldn't want to miss this experience.

The food was so delicious and the service was outstanding. I've never been a big white wine drinker but totally converted after their incredible wine. Thank you so much for everything as we had the perfect start to our holiday.

Excellent day out wine tasting and lunch for two at a smaller and more personable winery. The wine tasting was very informative and comprehensive, with many wines and liqueurs to try and all of them excellent. My friend is vegan (I called in advance and advised them of this), and they prepared a specific menu for her, which was both kind of them, and delicious. The service, friendliness and attentiveness of all staff was great. A great day out and highly recommend!

We came for my partner's birthday dinner, the wine we chose was great. we chose the double cooked pork belly which for us was a strange combination of flavours and we were looking forward to really tender pork but it wasn't that tender. We also chose the Stroganoff, the meat was dry and not as tender as we would have expected. the entrees were pretty good, but garlic bread and deep fried prawn isn't that difficult to cook. All in all for the price we paid for the meals we felt it was overrated. Service was friendly and professional. if we came again we would choose different mains and hope for a better taste experience.

Nice vineyard ran by an Italian sweet couple. Good cello liquor tasting choice too. I bought chococello yummy alcoholic liquor for dessert.

Excellent wine tasting with a great host and good wines. We were glad to get a table in the busy restaurant, which serves good food - but pretty sure the vegetarian dish of the day was basic shop bought pasta - which was pretty disappointing at the price paid, and as the only vege option.. would return for wine but not to the restaurant on this basis.

Ake Ake have one of the best, value for money platters in NZ. Great atmosphere, friendly hosts and love their La Doux. Highly recommended and I just hope the new owners don’t change a thing.

Great meal and loved the Shiraz. Had to get a bottle for the cellar. Try the Kahawai and caper pate, to die for I felt. Got a bottle of port also, eager to try. Bon apetit.

We were only there for a quick wine tasting, but everyone was very friendly and a nice selection of wines.

Really enjoyed this lovely restaurant for dinner. Fantastic service from friendly staff. Parking a little disappointing with no lighting. Food was top notch, the flavors were delicious. Pricing was also on point & the wine perfect pairing. Will definitely be returning.

Comfortable place for a lazy lunch and wine pairing. Good wine and food. Friendly staff and big porch at the restaurant to relax. Good place for kids’ education too.

Yet another wonderful culinary experience at Ake Ake.
Delicious food, exquisite wine and beautiful tranquil scenery.
The staff are exceptionally tentative to requests.
Thank you again for a beautiful evening out.

Lovely wines, a ripper of a platter combined with great service and a scenic backdrop and you get Ake Ake. A fantastic place to stop for a drop, a feed or both!

Magnificent, food, wine, service, setting and tasting experience.
Our group of 11 rocked up with no reservation.for a birthday lunch. The super friendly staff sorted a table and tasting (surpurb wines and liquors)..
The food was truly exceptional complimented by he most gorgeous wines. it's not often you find a menu where you genuinely want every item. Even the chef in our group was impressed. The very specific dietary requirements for one of our group were met with such care and attention to detail.
Our birthday girl was even treated to candles on her own special icecream "cake".
A huge THANK YOU, to the friendliest staff for the most exceptional dining experience.
PS: Cant wait to sample the goodies we purchased.

Ideal setting. Good casual atmosphere. Friendly staff. Well presented luncheon. Just as good as previous visits

Beautiful venue. The food menu looked divine but beware lunch closes at 2pm and book ahead for dinner. Wine tasting $8 which is taken off if you buy a wine. Wines are ok, depends on your taste. There are some very cool unusual wines (the orange wine made in a Georgian style). I had just come from Marsden Estate and I preferred their wines but the staff here are very nice too!

As always fabulous food, delicious wine and friendly service in a beautiful location. Love the wine shop too, especially the Pinotage and Pino Griggo.

Recently new owners, Sovrano Estate. Simply amazing experience. Exceptional liquers. Great sparkling Sav, and Rosé

Good food and great service.
Not quite 5 star due to wild brollies and rough, weedy landscaping but will definitely be back. 4.5
