An older pub/ cafe but comfortable. Juke box music, karaoke evenings and fun events including pool, darts. They will host private functions. A good range of refreshments and meals available. They do a reasonably priced Sunday roast. Close to Tahunanui Beach and Sports grounds.

l. h.great staff super friendly n helpfull specifically to name n notshame which will be the first time ive pointed out a particular person by name in review but a duty manager there julie... so laid back n friendly that each visit shes on is a pleasure but also entertaining with her laughter n lighthearted jokes. huge huge bar n sheltered outdoor out front.. fairly well used tab.. probably one of best pokie machine rooms in nelson at current up with the turf, old waka and hardy-st tab......spacous and then continues to another spacious back area with another bar that you can get served at.. and a larger but only partially covered outdoor area with large long wooden comunal feel table n other tables on grass area but unsure if used often so state of or wether your allowed to co sume your jug at that further distance as i suspect not as maybe difficult to monitor for them.
also takeaway bottle store and motel units attached as lodge in name suggests.. all in all a very laidback place to drink.. with all things catered for. 2 or 3 pool tables n a toy machine.. tidy but not flash toilets always clean races always on aswell as all big sports games n boxing matches.
best tahuna has to offer for a bar unless its craft beer in which case a sprig n fern is round corner but they dont have a tab, games, space, care free and homely relaxed vibe or the best staff that the ocean lodge does. hands down the winner in my books once again thanks julie for making it an extra pleasure always keeping the boys inline too and to be honest with a courtesy coach home.probably preferable to drinking at whats left in town center. 13/10
