Best tasting session at a winery/brewery ever!
Staff on site were amazing even ……..::: with some terribly bad jokes.
We will definitely return here every time in the area!
Highly recommend stopping here if you are close by.

The winery is now part of the hot water brewing company in Whenuakite. The beer tasting and food were great but the fruit wine tasting was fantastic!

Amazed by the selection and taste of locally made liquor, pizza was awesome and the host was so enthusiastic and lovely.

I did a wine tasting here and had some very good pizza from the wood oven. The wine tasting host is quite an entertainer and very amusing. The pizza is excellent! The place itself is very cool; it has a vintage, quaint feeling to it: a little worn down, peeling paint grape ranks growing against the building, a garden with tall grass and several tables. If you spend $20 or more you can camp on a patch of land they own for free for one night.

The food was delicious and fresh, with the pizza cooked in a stone over right outside. The owner gave us a generous sampling of the local fruit, some spicy pepper, history, and the cider--all with our meal. Friendly and funny staff, great local atmosphere, and definitely one of my favorite dining experiences in NZ.

As soon as my partner and I walked in, we were met by Danny the owner and he handed us a rather large sampling of his homemade apple cider which was delicious. While we were dining he had us try the feijoa fruit and some liquor that was made from it, amazing! The fruit was frozen so it tastes like sorbet while the skin was sour. For the food, we had the salt and pepper squid and chips and pizza. All fantastic. Right before we left Danny showed us the wine cellar and talked us through some local history and had us do some wine tasting. Overall dining experience was great and authentic so don't pass us this place!

Driving up a gravelly road to a tasting done In a shipping container, we were already pretty happy with the stunning view of the bay that hits you immediately. The hospitality and depth of knowledge of the winemaker was exceptional, which paired perfectly with the quality of the varied alcohols based off local and foreign fruits. I've also never had as much fun tasting wines, as the winemaker had as laughing constantly despite my suspicion that I was only quick enough to catch half of his jokes. This is a must visit for those coming to cathedral cove.

One of the most entertaining and memorable 'wine tastings' on the north island. Not a typical wine tasting you would find in Hawke's Bay or Marlborough. Show up with an open mind, and a good sense of humour. The wine was fair, but the large range of quality spirits and liqueurs offers something for everyone. The gin, feijoa liqueur, boysenberry liqueur and ginger liqueur were our favourites. Our host Danny was very welcoming and had a large repertoire of entertaining facts and stories!

Very delicious pizza and cider! You can eat outside under the kiwifruit vines and taste some fruit liquors. Be patient on a busy day though, they only have one pizza oven.

Ordered calamari and wood fired pizza... Thoroughly enjoyed it! Place exudes a lot of character...if youre into a rustic look and feel and would love a good meal over conversations and of course, wine...this is the place for you
