After years of suffering from cystic acne, and being told by doctors that the only treatment was to go on to strong medication, I decided to go see Natalia at ReNew Appearance Medicine, to see what my options were, when coming to treat my acne and scarring. I was attracted to ReNew as I had heard great reviews and I loved that it was important to Natalia to create results that appear natural. I also appreciated the fact that Natalia is an experienced Registered Nurse and has had extensive training in Aesthetic Services. That made me feel confident that whatever treatment I was receiving, it was going to be carried out safely and by a trained professional. Natalia was not only knowledgeable and professional but made me feel super comfortable and welcome. We discussed different treatment options and the desirable, yet realistic outcomes for my skin. We discussed at home skin care and Natalia provided me with an incredible skin care range (wash, moisturiser etc) that catered to my needs. Since starting those products at home, I truly can’t go without. The first treatment I received was Mirco Needling, which had incredible results for my acne, and most of all, my scarring! The redness was minimised and the texture of my skin became A LOT smoother. I was always embarrassed of the texture of my cheeks, but micro needling filled in the majority of my pockmarks. Although the treatment sounded daunting, Natalia was informative and made the whole experience super easy and comfortable. The treatment itself was quick and virtually painless. We still wanted to target some of the active acne that was popping up so Natalia looked at what had been most effective for treating active acne. That’s when Natalia discussed the idea of the Acnelan peel. I went through the process again of being informed by Natalia and being educated around the expectations of results and also what to expect during and after the peel. It was quick and easy, with the peel aspect only taking 3 mins! There was a massive difference straight away. The active acne had significantly reduced, the redness/ old scars had virtually gone away and my skin was super smooth. I received two more peels, spaced over approximately 7 weeks. After the third and final peel, my skin looked incredible. The results were honestly better than I expected. I felt so much more confident in my skin and started going out of the house with no makeup on (which believe it or not, was a big deal for me). It has been about 2 months since my last peel and my skin has stayed consistent. I haven’t had to receive further treatments, nor have I ever again had to contemplate the idea of going on strong medication to keep my skin clear. Natalia often checks in to see how I’m doing and I love updating her with my progress photos. It’s incredible to see the difference between before and after pictures.
