Stayed at the Silver Fern prior to the worldwide Covid lockdown in 2020. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The owners were very accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.

Good little spot... only reason not 5 stars is that there was no Air Con... great hosts, great room, great town! Extra Large Spa in the room topped it off

Really nice place to stay, the room was comfortable, clean, and warm. Fairly basic amenities, but totally compensated for by the absolutely massive spa bath in the bathroom! No kidding, if you're over 6 foot tall, you can actually sit down, stretch out, and be fully submerged. The staff were friendly, helpful, and polite, and we would happily stay here again in future

Had a wonderful stay in the honeymoon suite. Gary and Sue were very friendly and accommodating. We didn't need much assistance, but they made it perfectly clear that they were always happy to help. The room was nice, spacious, and clean. The daily cleaning was also great, never a complaint. We had a few breakfasts from their kitchen - A simple but nice menu, I enjoyed the bagels. Thanks for a great week away, guys.

Lovely and clean units, great and friendly hosts. Great breakfast. 2 bedroom unit with kitchenette and spa bath. We were a family of 6 staying for two nights. They serviced the unit each day. Definitely recommended.

Gary & Sue were just so amazing! We stayed on Labour weekend and I can say that the service here is fab, warm and welcoming for sure. Rooms are spotless clean upon entry and through our stay our room was serviced daily. The breakfasts are a must have! Pancakes! Delicious. We loved it so much that we have booked in for next year :). Thanks Sue & Gary, you both really made us feel so welcomed here, can't wait to see you next year when we return x

A nice comfortable and clean motel but definitely not a 5-star hotel in my opinion. There were a couple of small issues like the room not being ready when we arrived even though we had advised of our arrival time when booking the accommodation. Small things like maple syrup being forgotten with the pancakes. Apart from this, all in all, a pleasant stay for a couple of nights and the spa bath was a good size.

The Motel room Was spotless, warm and cosy. The customer service from the Lady at reception was exceptional. best motel experience we have had. Definitely won’t stay anywhere else in Rotorua now. Highly recommend

Stayed Jan 2021 & the host Gary was absolutely wonderful. Nothing was a problem & he went above & beyond to ensure we were happy. Room was very clean, spa was gorgeous & now we won't be staying anywhere else but at the silver fern. Thank you very much. Totally loved it there

This place is amazing. I'll be going back for monthly massages. So worth it!❤ My daughter and I had a mother daughter vitality massage and stayed in room 19 for the night. The facilities were so clean and beautiful and our masseuses were amazing. Highly recommend.

Had a great stay, we were greeted with a warm welcome and the owners were lovely. There are a only a couple improvements that I can comment on. The decor needs a refresh as it's a bit dated and the robes need to be bigger to cater for all sizes. Other than that we had a fabulous stay and the massages were amazing! Breakfast in bed was delicious. Highly recommend 😊

We loved our stay here, had no idea what to expect because the price was so reasonable, we were stoaked! Room was very clean and had everything you could need, spa bath a great bonus, all the extras supplied (tea, coffee, soap et) were of lovely quality. We finished our stay with massages and facials in the day spa and they were of top quality! All the staff were so friendly, From the office to the cleaning staff and the ladies on the day spa were awesome! Thank you all, we will be back!

Had the most relaxing and indulgent 2 hour experience here. Wonderful massage and facial my therapists were thoroughly professional and super talented. Will definitely come again when next in Rotorua and spread the word to my friends

Stay was good until there’s no hot water. Apparently there was an issue but they didn’t find out til the morning, and that it’s norma when everyone uses the spa. However, I rang and texted their emergency mobile number at 10pm but no one responded. The lady said it’s their owner’s number who’s in Whitianga at the moment. Well... so much for the number to call for emergencies. I did call their main number but because it was after 9:30pm it said to call the emergency mobile number. No shower for the whole family the night before checking out. I wasn’t even asked how the stay was when checking out, I had to bring up the hot water issue to start the conversation. Also told, usually they would do something about it the next time I stay there. How funny. Wouldn’t you want to do something now to hope that we return next time? Anyway - hope this review helps others who plan to stay there.

Great Motel, very welcoming owners. Had everything we needed in a family room. Spa bath was fantastic. Beds and bed linen superb. Quiet location, slept great. Thank you. 😊

Absolutely amazing experience, great place to stay and loved the hospitality. The hosts were amazing as they provided us with all the information we needed and provided us with their bikes to roam around. The room had a Jacuzzi style tub which was great as well.

A refreshing 2 night stay, and Josephine got me a 10% discount at Whakarewarewa by phoning for my booking. I indulged in a spa treatment with Lana and promptly slept 11 hours.

What a great place! Nick and Rebecca are lovely. They helped us with what to see, where to eat, discounts on attractions and Nick carried our bags up the stairs because of my knee injury. Old school service like that is rare across the world. The 1 bedroom family room is awesome. Very comfortable and luxurious with an incredibly deep spa (our son loved it). It has all the trimmings in the bathroom (topped up daily). Great mattress, water pressure, pod coffee machine and easy to connect too fast free wifi. Also we didn’t know the apartment was serviced when we booked and wow do the cleaning team do an impeccable job.We have stayed all over the world and this accommodation easily makes our top 5 on so many levels . Location is also perfect. Pat & Emma.

Arrived to a warm welcome. Heater on. A friendly, helpful host, knowledgeable about the area. Stayed 2 nights, 1 bedroom spa unit. Had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Great value for money. Would stay again.

I had the most amazing massage and luxury facial with Lorellee. Beautiful day spa. Totally recommended. It was so lovely to head back to our one bedroom suite to our private spa after the massage. What a perfect mix.

Awesome place. Good pressure on the showers and nicely hot. The beds arent too soft which is also really awesome.

Hi guys been a while since I have posted any material, so here goes, stayed at the Silver Fern Motel on Fenton Street Rotorua brilliant place to stay, rooms were awesome, tidy, and very clean. The owners were superb, and catered well to our needs. Would definitely recommend to all our friends and family wanting to getaway for a couple days. Awesome point to do all yoùr daytrips from. Once again thanks to our hosts at the Silver Fern Motel.....9/10.....

The day spa is to die for!!!! Rotorua’s best kept secret and the prices are extremely reasonable. Amazing service and they looked after me so well being six months pregnant. Highly recommend for an authentic and relaxing experience. Will definitely be back!!!!

A quaint little place. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. Not what I would call luxurious, but that's ok. Spas in each room are an awesome feature, and the shower pressure could melt your flesh off if you want it to, very impressive. A comfortable night sleep, and a lovely breakfast delivered right to our room!

Spacious suites. Clean rooms. Staff are very accommodating for any requests (they were able the return a hired suit for me). They have masseuse's available and a seperate studio for the service. On a previous stay they were able to organise a last minute couples massage and it was wonderful. Most rooms have a full size spa which can filled on demand in short time as there is very good water pressure.

We always seem to find ourselves coming back here even when we say we will go somewhere different for a change. We just love the place. We can actually relax - away from the kids, work etc. The spa's are HUGE and the showers have excellent pressure. The rooms are modern and we find the staff friendly and helpful. I'm always surprised at how quiet it is and how well we sleep when we are there. We have also stopped going out for breakfast as the omelettes are far better than any we have had when we venture off into town. One thing we would love to see on the menu is pancakes though :-)

A friendly & warm welcome with this lovely place to stay is just amazing! :) The cleanliness of the unit with a good size of the bath is just wonderful to relax! :) We definitely wanna come back again! And don't forget your lovely & friendly therapist that really gave me a total relaxation with a massage & facial! :)

Friendly and helpful owners, the spa was just what you need after a busy weekend and long drive. We even got our room upgraded for the unconvience of a small power cut in the morning. Definitely be back if we stop again 😊

Forgot to take photos of this place, but was awesome. We got the room with the spa bath which is huge & highly recommend. Staff were lovely. Only thing was that they no longer provide alternative milk to those who are dairy intolerant, but everything else was great.

We had a very nice stay, although it didn't feel like a 5 star hotel. The private spa bath in our suite was actually outside (in a covered walled area) and we were lucky with warm weather so the slightly chill air was actually nice after sitting in hot water, but I could see it being unpleasant on a very cold day. Can't complain about anything else, just not sure it was that much better than cheaper end hotels we stayed at. Would gladly stay here again if we catch a sale.

Enjoyable stay, would recommend. Friendly staff, spacious comfortable room, all amenities in room, well stocked kitchenette, loads of parking on-site, private jacuzzi in room. Great location in centre of town, good accessibility to all attractions.

Just had the most wonderful weekend away in Rotorua. Staying at the Silver Fern was what really topped it off. Fantastic friendly staff, very chatty & accommodating. The room was amazing, loved all the extra touches. Breakfast was yum as was the platter we had as part of our package. Finished off by a truly relaxing massage. Can't recommend the staff and accommodation highly enough. We've stay in a few places in Rotorua and this was by far the best. We can't wait to come back and stay again. If you're looking for a place to stay in Rotorua you can't go passed the Silver Fern!!

The staff were friendly and room service was nice. It's a good convenient location to the city center. However, the room was a bit dated and the heating/cooling options were not the greatest (desk fan to cool, noisy heater).

It was a while ago. My husband and I had our 10th wedding anniversary. Had a wonderful spa. Super friendly and helpful people in the office. We loved our stay here. Totally recommend this accommodation 10/10

The Silver Fern, Rotorua was fantastic from start to finish. My husband and I stayed there for 2 nights for our honeymoon and we were greeted by the very friendly and helpful staff. The location was incredible as the property is so close to many of the attractions you can do in Rotorua including amazing restaurants! The rooms were very clean and spacious and the bed was comfy. The spa bath was WAY bigger than we had imagined and was an awesome unique part of our stay at Silver Fern. We can not thank the owners enough for their hospitality and we thoroughly recommmend to anyone looking to visit Rotorua.

Wonderful place, wonderful room with all the fixings & a nice hot tub we tried out (for our honeymoon June 2015). The nice front desk manager even drove me to the rental car place (Hertz Rotorua) early in the morning to help me pick up my car hire! Simply awesome service. You won't regret staying here.

Lovely accommodation however family rooms were very small and as a result very hot. Dated decor and definitely needs air con. Friendly owners.

ROOM - Excellent. - Nice size; spacious. - Comfy bed. BATHROOM - Shower and jacuzzi tub. - Good water pressure. SERVICE - Excellent. Loved the hosts, Allan and Shirley, who picked me up at the bus station, offered many tips, let me borrow a coat. - Good wifi. OTHER - Tea and hot chocolate in the room. - Good location; a nice 20-30 walk from the shops/restaurants. Could be great on a bike. Taxis are a bit pricey. - Was able to have lunch at a nearby restaurant and charged to my room at the Silver Fern.

There is huge competition for motels in Rotorua and it can be really hard to work out which one to choose. Not once you know about the Silver Fern Motel, it is not! The location is good, the accommodation is excellent and the best bit is the welcome and owner helpfulness. You can borrow bikes and get advice on routes. Did I mention the hot tub in the unit? That is magic. The units seem new and are cosy. They are clean and well-equipped but those sleeping in the double bed need to be prepared for others coming through to use the bathroom. That's not a problem - just noting it. Thanks Allan and Shirley for a wonderful stay.

We had a massage at Silver Fern and they were very accommodating considering we booked the day before we went for the massage. We were able to reserve a 90 minute couples massage and it was great! The ladies giving the massage were very accommodating and adapted pressure as needed, and any knots or aches I had were gone by the time the 90 minutes were up. Two things keep us from giving a full 5 star review; first, once our massage was completed, we were not allowed to take a shower, even though there was a separate bathroom with a shower inside. There might have been a good reason for this, but were not told why, just that we could not shower. Second, there was no water offered after the massage. Re-hydrating after a massage is important, so it would have been nice to get a glass of water afterwards. Both these things are fairly minor, and I wish I could give 4.5 stars instead of 4, but there it is. 8/10, work out my knots again.

Nick was very friendly and helpful. Hot tub in the bathroom was great. Fans in each bedroom was good however shower was loud and rooms & decor seemed dated.

Nice hotel. Large room. Large spa bath in bathroom but no separate shower. Free parking. 5 minute drive from centre of town. No dining room or restaurant attached. Continental breakfast served in room. Close to restaurants however.

Friendly staff lovely spotless room Bed was too firm for our liking but luxurious sheets blankets and pillows. Was disappointed our coffee machine kept leaking and our bathrobes were a little snug for our generous bodies but we enjoyed the amazing pressure in the shower and the spa soaked away our aches in style😎😍

EVERY TIME LIKE THE FIRST TIME. It has been the second time I stayed at Silver Fern Accommodation and Spa and yet again I am happy with my choice of the accommodation in Rotorua. The room is spacious, has everything one needs for a stay, warm and bright, the hosts are simply great and very knowledgeable of the current events in town and about all 'must-see' places to visit in the area. Silver Fern is conveniently positioned in town and in the short drive from the activities and restaurants. I will definitely stay here again when I am back in Rotorua. P.S. consider staying for longer if it is your first visit to Rotorua - there is so much to see and even 2 days are simply not enough.

Loved our stay here. Right in the middle of town. Could park right next too the room, and it had a nice bathroom. Not specific to the Silver Fern, but the whole town smells like sulfer (rotten eggs/farts), just a heads up.

We loved this place: a nice bit of pampering in our trip around NZ. The spa bath in particular got rave reviews from my companions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and quite spacious.

Great location, staff and facilities. Silver fern is located in Fenton and offers easy to access to much of what Rotorua has. Your main mode of transport may often be driving and silver fern offers on site parking at no extra cost. We stayed in the honeymoon suite with an included spa which is great to warm in after New Zealand's chilly autumn and winter. The staff are friendly and attentive to your requests and are not invasive as you stay. The facilities are good and allow easy access to and from your vehicle and the broader Rotorua. The location of the accommodation is great for transit to the city centre and locations like Eat Streat or super markets. Highly recommended for anyone coming to stay and see the sights in Rotorua!

Lovely quality accommodation. But if your husband doesn't like working with the public, have him get another job. A grumpy guy at reception is not very inviting. We have stayed 3 times now & he's always the same.

Great spa. Yet both my boys cut themselves on the old plug. Also my husband as a bad back and the beds are too soft so he was in pain. Itherwise good location. Friendly service and well equipped.

Value for money. Good clean rooms!! 10 minute drive to anywhere in Rotorua. In summers it can hot in the rooms due to the lack of an Air Conditioner and a relatively slow ceiling fan.

Motel close to downtown Rotorura and all the other awesome attractions in the area. We stayed Dec 2016, second floor, unit 17. Room was clean & quite. We had a car, so getting around was super easy. Good stay, great motel.

Allan & Shirley are great to work with and run a fantastic business. Their level of service and cleanliness is second to none, leading the field of Rotorua motels. We would not hesitate recommending the Silver Fern as a perfect motel option when staying in Rotorua.

A motel but comfortable, clean, fairly modern. Well appointed suite with a huge spa bath. Hard to fault other than it's the other end of Fenton St from the pubs and restaurants.

Very clean, very well appointed hotel. Close to activities, shops, restaurants and bars. Nick the manager was very helpful with ideas about what to do around town.
