K.Just thrive is an amazing place to grow and develop your love of dance and many more things. The dance teachers work and support you in the direction you need and make sure you work with your strengths and encourage you to work on the areas you need to develop. I have 3 Children dancing here and there conference and development from before starting to now has Grown hugely. One of my children where struggle academically at school and since she started dance her school work has come leaps and bounds.
Could not recommend this Dance school enough. And so glad I found this.
M.I took a Zumba class here. I also took Pilates and the owner taught it. She is a dancer and very knowledgeable about the body. She helped me immensely with 2 really tight areas. She showed me how to loosen the knots up and regain mobility.
E.Just Thrive offers inclusive dance classes focused on the love of dance and safe teaching practices. The teachers passion and joy for dance come out in every class.
The caliber of Pilates they offer is on par with classes offered internationally.
Carlas knowledge of the body and it’s functions is endless, she is dedicated to understanding each individual and making sure they get the most out of each class.
As a performance athlete myself I couldn’t recommend this studio enough!! A+++
F.The owner is super friendly and kind to people. Good location in the central town and easy to find. Kids loved spacious dance studio and also good for mum's Pilate class. There is a toy room so kids can play while mum is doing exercises! Also a vegan cafe outside the studio is wonderful!!
J.The museum is interesting and historic. They have a great selection of rifles and medals. They also have a good display of the historic timeline related to the NZDF's military involvements. It's a great (something to do) stop (with a coffee shop) to take a break from driving.

The children are very lucky to have such a talented, skilled and nurturing teacher like Carla who goes above and beyond and gives countless hours being able to pass on her passion. D.There are studios and dance communities, and Just Dance is a community. It’s heart and soul is the wonderful owner Carla, who gives more of herself than she should to ensuring the dancers in her care are treated fairly whilst being given tuition. Dancing involves a certain amount of discipline, and Carla and her teachers deliver their classes with the right amount of care and discipline to get some excellent results. My daughter has been dancing with this studio for 4 years now, and I have never felt it wasn’t the right place for her to be. Not all studios work for all types of dancers (or parents/carers), but if you’re looking for a truly inclusive, passionate, dedicated team to nurture your baby ballerinas into dancers able to perform across different genres, then this is the studio for you in Whangarei.
Not only all the above, but you can also purchase Ballet, Jazz, Tap, & Demi & pointe shoes, along with a selection of dance wear too. The studio caters for adult classes, all levels of ability, and offers a holistic approach to dance and movement.
I highly recommend this dance school, and without hesitation.
M.I have two girls going to Just Thrive. Many years ago we moved to Just Thrive after attending another dance company and we have never looked back. Carla is so pationate about dance and well-being and is so dedicated to all of her students young and old. She really cares about people. She has created a space that all will feel welcomed with a sense of belonging.
Carla and the teachers have supported my girls in studio and out of the studio which I believe is beyond what you would expect from a dance school.
R.My three daughters all started with Carla at age 3, they began with ballet and have now gone on to Jazz and Contemporary. They have flourished into confident little dancers that have a love for dancing. Carla runs a great operation with affordable classes, great teachers and she has a strong following! I highly recommend!
K.I feel so lucky to have come across Just Dance 7 years ago when my daughter finally convinced me to look into ballet classes for her. Not only did my shy 4 year old join in classes, she developed her self confidence to the point where she now enters competitions. She has moved from ballet to doing 4 different dance genres and this is because of Carla and her incredible support and encouragement. We have seen Carla grow from holding a few classes in a hall to having a wonderful dance studio with fantastic teachers working alongside her to build a community.
On top of that, Carla has supported me through some Pilates classes after being in an accident. Her knowledge of how the body works, and her way of sharing that knowledge to empower each individual (child or adult, dancer or not) is amazing.
She is one of a kind and we can’t thank her enough x

Q.We love Just Thrive!! My daughter has an absolute passion for dancing that I have no doubt comes from the passion that she sees in Carla and the other teachers. While she has many young people to look after in her school, Carla always takes time to care for each one. She goes above and beyond to help out as needed (even for us Mum’s who don’t really know what we are doing!). I am so thankful for Carla and her team. She’s an absolute legend 😊
e.The most beautiful, kind and caring dance community. I couldn’t wish for anything more for our children. Three of our children attend a range of classes throughout the week, and love every second. We are blessed to have Carla and Lena as our wonderful teachers ❤️ As a mum, dance is my favourite time of the day! My children thrive, and I have met some pretty special people myself. Just Dance is more than a studio - it’s a place of knowledge, love, acceptance, determination, patience, persistence, encouragement and community. Thank you for creating something so special Carla.

W.We love Carla and the team Just thrive. It was always Carla's passion about dance with kids. She alway puts kids first not for profit. She is the most down to earth person and has the best positive attitude for everyone. I remember when she hurt her knees she would not stop teaching!!
