A wonderful house museum. The first Auckland home for the exceptional New Zealand artist Colin McCahon. Totally recommended.

Being in the tiny house where Colin McCahon lived with his family and produced so much work was both inspiring and confronting. It had to be a tough life for him and his family. Set among tall kauris on steep land it is a quite amazing place.

Absolute must to visit - guided tour by knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide fills in the blanks concerning early history of Colin McCahon - painter extraordinaire. Beautiful setting deep in the bush.
