Reviews of Marlborough Museum
Has a reasonable display on wine but is half an advert for each of the wineries that donated each display or money. The area outside is a mocked up old town street, but has seen better days, kids found all the old stuff interesting though. There is a mini train and tourism boating lake. There are also lots of clubs based there, like the rock and mineral club amongst others.
Old displays and not very Informative.
Marketed as the wine regions museum of wine I would have expected the wine estates to have joined force to make this the premier experience as it reflects on them. Why is LVMH, and the other brands not stepping up.
This museum has an abundance of old farm machinery, buildings etc and unfortunately relies on volunteers as do many others in the country. They do a wonderful job, but there are not enough of them. A wonderful facility worth looking after. Could be a huge attraction to Blenheim.
Small, cute museum with captain Cook, Maori culture and Marlborough wine history exhibitions. Glad to see, free entrance.
Great collection, lots of interesting machinery well worth a visit
Great place to go. Food always excellent. Staff always very pleasant.
I went here today and is amazing place to visit in Blenheim. Wheelchair access as well via Denton Building. To explore the museum better to follow the numbers 1-24. $5 adult ticket. I recommend to stop and have a chat with people are working in the workshop, they have a wealth of knowledge to share.
Always a pleasure to come here, and see old exhibitions and new
Always good there have a picnic you can breath in the history
Underrated I feel. Nice walk to look at technology from the recent and not so recent past. Tough to see things in a museum you remember from your own childhood, but time marches on ;). Could be improved into a real tourism spot but needs dedicated and inspired management.
Only walked about the outside remembering last visit many years ago
We came for a random weekend to Picton. Found out the Marlborough Heritage Day was on in Blenheim. Stopped in to check it out. Not bad 👍 there was lots going on, lots to see. Even jumped on a little train that goes in to Blenheim township! Cool place to visit ❤️
I really enjoyed Joseph Banks' Diaries. The needle work was exquisite and a credit to the creators. We also enjoyed the natural history area and sewing exhibit.
Fantastic place if you're into old cars and bikes and history
Could do with free pudding cups
Great place to catch up on old ways of doing things and machinery
Lovely little museum! A good wine exhibition if that's your cup of tea (or glass of Merlot). Personally I loved the ceramics on display but they have a bit if everything. It has a tiny shop and good amenities.
I went on a free entry day and found that so much more could be done with this place. I would have been disappointed if I had to pay the $10 entry fee. Do bring reading glasses.
I have however been told that the staff/tour guides are brilliant so I will visit again and review my review!
We went on the train trip into town and return great a must do kids and adults alike enjoyed it
Great museum but the star attraction is the Edwin Fox sailing ship
Fantastic place to visit. Several museums on the property and film of history
Great coffee and lovely ambience.
Great day with my children. Amazing to see the machines still operating. Thanks to all the volunteers.
Plenty of local history. Nice walk around looking in the windows of 'old' shops. Amazing amount of items from bygone years. Well done the people that look after Brayshaw Park!
Museum was not to bad, very good for a regional museum. Writing about most exhibits was a bit too small, I have to use reading glasses and it was annoying putting my glasses on and off all the time. I learnt something there, so I was fairly impressed with that
Step back in time and look at the old village. Great for photos and hardly cost a thing.
Apparently that old tractor out front came from my grandparents farm from up the valley. As a kid my friends and I use to love playing up the back where all the old stuff it kept. I remember an old long drop hut that was on it's side being used as a secret base 😂.... I was clean ok lol.
An awesome museum, the wine display area is great as with the Maori Settlers display....both unique....
By far too much emphasis placed on its wine industry. Visitors we took there not interested at all
Learnt so much about wine!! Fascinating little museum and good info on the history if Marlborough country.
Great display of everything you need to know
Great museum, lots of fascinating pieces from local environment history and heritage. Waka, Moa bones, Ancient tools, early fashion, wild creatures etc. Quizzes for the children.
Was so informative and learnt heaps about wine! Staff was very kind and friendly..🙏💕🙏
Fantastic Collection of heritage and machinery from the past

Great place. Really enjoyed it. Next time hopefully no rain. Would be even better.
Good but think needs new exhibits. Shame it's a bit small as museums go.
Has the biggest wine exhibition in Australia and New Zealand. Amazing local history with archives and research rooms available
Small but packed with interesting exhibits, especially the one on wine. Well worth a visit.

(Translated) An interesting museum with a number of agricultural machinery, historical and newer, tractors and simple lanes and various tools and aids that agriculture. In a simple way, one gets acquainted with the history and development of agriculture in New Zealand, but it has developed almost in the same way everywhere in the world. Interesting and worth a visit.
