Reviews of Cambridge Museum
M.
A lovely wee museum housed in the old courthouse. There is a room specifically for military people and a general room with lots of historical things to look at. It is free to enter but a donation is encouraged. It is worthy of 20 minutes or so of your time.
J.
I was expecting more exhibits and information but I need to remember it's a small town. The curator was helpful
T.
Currently small but its FREE and theres heaps to look and interact with, all very child friendly and they frequently change up the place to keep it interesting.
The staff are always willing to help out if you are looking into genealogy or just have questions, they have heaps of info on Cambridge, the local Horse Racing and Studs as well as some surrounding Waipa/Waikato towns too :)
N.
It was a tiny museum and it was a court long time before. Receptionist welcomed me and told me some histories of their displays.
B.
Excellent museum. Well worth a visit. We've passed by so many times but not been in. Staff friendly and knowledgeable.
C.
Stopped in during a driving break with our three kids. Had a great time with an hunt activity provided by museum staff. Some interesting items on display. Definitely worth stopping in with a coffee from the cafe across the road if you need a reat from driving.
S.
Some really good displays for such a small museum - they also have extensive records of those who lived in the area and are very keen for those who have a link to Cambridge to come and find out more. Worth a visit but doesn't require more than around 30 minutes to explore if you aren't a local.
J.
If you're a local or have lived here, the photos of old Cambridge back in 1890's and early 1900s are quite mind blowing. A nice tucked away museum to browse through on your off time.
J.
A lovely atmospheric little museum with tiny fascinating snapshots of life in Cambridge from over the years presented in a building which is in itself very interesting. Knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic staff. I await the planned extension with joy....
F.
A small but really nice museum. Very friendly welcome. There are things about the First World War, school days, old cameras and much more.
G.
A modest museum in a former courthouse. There are two rooms filled with various artifacts. It’s worth a visit if you are in Cambridge. Admission is free.
J.
Outstanding comprehensive Archives of Cambridge, and surrounding areas. The attendant on duty the day I visited. Karen. As o was enquiring about an elderly, long departed ancestor/relative went far beyond the call of duty and made an exhaustive search of their large library of records, and even telephoned an Elder, at the local community Marae, whom I spoke to personally, who's knowledge put me on the exact path I needed to travel next. Most helpful indeed. And has the best display of New Zealand native wooden crafts I have ever seen.
L.
Thank you, it was very interesting.

Went here with the family, all the ask is a donation. It's quite small but has some good information about the local histroy. Worth a look if you have a free hour.
