M.Do something New New Zealand! Awesome experience. Amazing museum.... those exhibits! Great food great coffee and Dog friendly. What could one ask more for? Nothing! Just go do it NZ!
A.We got a family pass ($199) for the Go Karts, Fast Taxi & museum inc VR experience. We had to buy two more Carts for 4 of us to do, which came to $269 all up. A super hot day but we still spent a good 4 hours there including a great lunch at their cafe. The toilets are worth the visit alone and if your lucky the carpark may have a few gems parked up as well.
J.Was completely surprised by how much I enjoyed visiting Highlands. The staff were helpful and friendly, food was reasonably priced and yummy. The highlight was the Loo with a View! got some super photos of two cars racing around the tracks

The activities here do cost a bit like U-drive but everything else is just worth it! As it says in their slogan, 'world class' it sure is! One must pay a visit here, it's just 45-50 minutes from Queenstown and for thrill/adventure/car lovers, this is the best place to come!
S.Excellent fun had by our biking group. We did the go carts, a hot lap in which we felt very safe. And yes they do go fast. Lunch was good and friendly service. Museum was great. Very interesting. Love the interactive things. Had to have a photo with Bumblebee. Toilets with a view are a must stop.

We did the taxis ride - 1 slow lap full of great information about the history of the park and 1 very fast lap of pure excitement. 180kms in a V8 Porsche, exhilarating!!. Go-karts we're outstanding as well, been to two tracks in Wellington, no comparison. This is a must do.

S.What a place, I drove the Radical, and wish I had more confidence to push myself harder, Paul was a great instructor though, all of the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. The toilets are probably the coolest (and cleanest) ones on earth, I didn't venture into all of them, but my partner did and they all have their own theme. Really wish I'd had more time than I did as it was only meant to be a passing stop that escalated pretty quickly when we got a sweet weekday deal on the Radical experience.

K.Did the super car fast dash. The ride was awesome and the experience was made even better by the staff. They put effort into ensuring every single person had the best time. The kids loved it too.
N.If I was a man I'd probably give it 5 stars, although it was cool seeing a race car going round the track.
S.Need to come back and spend some more time here. Heaps to do, heaps to see. Food is good and reasonably priced and the staff are super friendly. Oh....and the bathrooms...I reckon you'd struggle to find better anywhere in the southern hemisphere. Felt weird taking photos in there so you'll just have to try them for yourself.
c.Wanted a lap experience, was encouraged to take the new electric Porsche. Three incredible straight line accelerations. Didn't realise this was it, didn't get my lap so wouldn't choose this again. As a result of this, Heather contacted me and offered a free lap in the Ferrari. A very generous and unexpected gesture that demonstrated unusually excellent customer service. Thank you!

There's heaps to do here too - there's a cafe, museum, race track, go karts and some very unique toilets 😂 100% worth the drive out from Queenstown!!
Y.Fun go kart experience. Petrol powered and reasonably big course. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The lady working on the go kart desk was helpul in accommodating our walk-in and we were able to go for a go kart race on short notice.
P.Second time I have visited, and this time to watch our son do a five lap self drive. Amazing staff and he did absolutely great in the open seater with his instructor asking if he had raced gocarts before. Highly recommended a visit.

J.Good car museum if you're into seeing some exotic race cars and sports cars. But it's more about the track and either hot laps with a race driver, or U-Drive if you prefer to have a drive yourself. I drove the Radical SR9!

C.Absolutely stunning location and activities. Gokarts were a blast and the whole set up with the full race track and the Ferrari speed laps was amazing. Just a few minutes from Cromwell Heritage Precinct so easy to get to.

Another “must see, must do” when in Central.
The self drive with instructor is phenomenal. Paul so understatedly gets you flying around the track.
It really is so pleasing to experience such international level establishments, with better than “she’ll be rite” customer service while still retaining that kiwi easygoing nature.
So much to see here. So much to do. Don’t underestimate the time you could spend here

T.Although a little pricey a great experience with the kids. Loved the Go Karts. Lunch was very tasty and big meals. One main between two, we couldn't eat it all. The toilets were an experience in themselves. Top notch, highly recommended.

The fastest lap driver was also nice and an experienced race car driver so he really got the Ferrari going which was loads of fun and an amazing vehicle. I ate at the pitstop cafe, the food was delicious and the view of the track 👌. I highly recommend doing this of you visit or pass through Cromwell.

A.The go-karting is great when it’s not too busy - better first thing in the morning perhaps. Museum is very good but the cafe lets it down. The Ferrari fast lap is well worth the money but the Subaru experience finished just as we started to get some speed up - driving in convoy is a little frustrating. Returning for a fourth time next weekend...

J.We didn't go for the motorsport - amazingly enough. Instead, we went for the dinosaurs. A four year-old loved it, and we were the only ones there. A mini golf-course and balance-bike ride also kept the little one happy. The only suggestion I'd make is that the café on site sold simple food for kids as well as the relatively decent meals on offer.
C.They have fantasic make youbown loaded fries and the taxi and go carts are great the musem is good too

S.We had such a fun morning on the go kart track! I would say it is definitely worth the trip out from Queenstown. I recommend spending the morning go karting and the the afternoon at a winery or a scenic cycle. The facilities were very well maintained and beautiful as well as the track we raced on.
Unfortunately there was some sort of communication break down between the front desk up at the museum vs the Go-Kart racing desk staff. We had a group of 13 people wanting to each race twice and were offered the 'weekday special' at the entrance but were not given this down at the go-karts, the staff trying to charge us full price for two races each. Obviously this was super disappointing, so only 6 members of our group raced twice. Quite a loss of profit for the company and left half of our group pretty sour...
It was a fun morning but could have been much, much better with improved customer service.

R.Highlands is just 40 mins from Wanaka or Queenstown and has so much to offer ! Great food, a museum, go karts, high speed laps of the track, spectating if racing is on and more. I even heard son of Stig is working there now ! I nearly forgot in the museum- using VR you can take a lap of the track with your favorite driver. Go Greg Murphy!

A.Really cool museum with some great old race cars, including Schumachers Benneton! You get a great view of the race track from the museum and cafe. There's also an outdoor area to lookout over the track and go kart areas. Well worth a visit
m.Excellent place! Friendly staffs, nice track and $49 for 10 mins Go-kart seems reasonable enough. Or step up the game and pay more to feel what to be like as a supercar racer! Definitely go back again if visit nearby township.

Everything extremely well maintained, clean and professional. We also did the family taxi around the track and loved the speed! Super fun.
B.From the Go Karts to the Ferrari Fast Lap Dash - absolutely fantastic! Staff were so attentive, relaxed and friendly. The whole atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The barista makes a superb hot chocolate. We will be back.

R.I visited with my family to see the museum, go for a ride in the taxi, and to do the supercar fast dash. Unfortunately our fast dashes were cancelled because the track was slightly damp which is an overreaction since Hampton Downs operates their fast dashes in the rain. The taxi ride was fine but the car we went in was not the same as what is advertised on the website. On the website it says that the taxi is a Porsche Cayenne Turbo. The car we rode in was a Cayenne S with a diesel engine which is obviously a lot slower than the Turbo. This is false advertising which resulted in a much more boring lap than I would have expected. On another note, I was very impressed with the museum and the loo's with a view were entertaining. If you visit Highlands Motorsport Park you should only do so to look at the museum as the taxi is not as advertised and they'll cancel all of the other track activities if there's a single drop of water on the track. Overall I was disappointed by Highlands Motorsport Park.

D.A really interesting complex. I only visited the cafe today for a coffee and spent time viewing the track and children in play area. I am currently staying in the adjacent/adjoining Central Park Apartments which last time I was here had just been started. Now an excellent addition to Cromwell in general. A++
T.This is a "must see" when traveling through Cromwell. Look it up on the net before you go there about prepared to be awed by the museum then dare to resist a ride round the track. At least let the children do the Go-Karts.

If you're wondering whats the best option, go for the 2x 10 minute races. It's more than enough!
My only criticism would be that they should stagnate the two races, i.e. give group 'X' 10 minutes and group 'Y' 10 minutes after, followed by group 'X' 10 minutes after that. Perhaps I maybe in the minority, as hand cramps were kicking in.
All in all, if you uming and arring between this and gameover, do this one!
A.This review takes into account the last three visits I have made to Highlands over the years. The Go Karts are a lot of fun and well set up. The Radical U-Drive experience is a MUST DO!!! Both drives I have done with Pro drivers Andrew and Steve were outstanding. Their interest in teaching and wanting me to go fast and make the most of what this little beast can do really made the experience one I will remember for a very long time and tell my friends about.
A.This is a RARE FIND. Don't forget to visit the "loo with a view" and most importantly - donate!

Only critique is needs TV screens for spectators to view the corners behind the trees & the carousel, plus also to display lap times during qualifying.

The museum has an ever changing display of vehicles and motor racing history and the opportunity to be driven around the track in various vehicles, at speed, is an added bonus. There is also the option of self driving race cars, go karts and a visit to the jurassic park area for families is welcome.
S.It was on. We had taken taxi. Compared to cost we were not satisfied as we hardly experienced the speed. We just went around the track slowly for the first round. While 2 round appeared fast not exciting.
M.This is a once in a lifetime experience and is very affordable my instructor Andrew was a excellent instructor and it just goes to show how demanding and difficult formula one driving is, if your in New Zealand you have to visit this place

K.Firstly, this is a brilliant facility. However, do not pay money to drive around the circuit in your own vehicle behind the pace car. They go far to slow!! I have a Triumph TR and didn't get out of 3rd gear, or over 90kph. Really, I feel I should have got a refund. PATHETIC!!!

S.For the petrol heads, you have to drop by when down that way. Make sure you have packed your piggy bank so you can partake in one of the many entertainment packages. I was traveling on a budget, so I just stood and took in the sights, sounds and smell. 👍

The museum is absolutely stunning with immaculately detailed and presented cars. Standouts are the Lamborghini Diablo. The real attraction here though is the racetrack and the opportunity to live out your supercar dreams!

J.A few years ago I splashed out and did the Porshe GT3 hotlap and self drive combo for a birthday, money well spent on a fantastic experience. The Go Kart track here is one of the best in NZ and I try to fit in at least one session when I'm down this way.

The McLaren lap has to be done to be appreciated - such an amazing experience, and the speed... karting is great, and the buggies are a good laugh as well. Highly recommended...and the museum is good to have a look around too.

F.AMAZING, We had our 5th wheeler and stayed in the motor home area. Paula was so lovely to deal with, nothing was a issue and she was so friendly and welcoming.
D.What a great day out. Drove down from Christchurch for a drive of the Radical. Missed out in November last year as it was rained off. Met Jeff my instructor who took me through the routine and instructed me during the drive. What a Top Bloke. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience as I could have stayed in the car for another 10 laps. Over all too soon. A big thanks to Jeff and the staff at Highlands, they were superb hosts and spoilt me rotten. Thanks again guys and will see you in November for the Highlands 501.

“Our Awesome Experience!!!”
The whole team at Highlands are amazing! From the time we arrived on the first day until the time we left on the third day, we were so well received and looked after. Our grandson's dream WAS to ride in a Lambo, which he did not once, but twice! We also did the Taxi ride in the Porsche TWICE with Jeff, who felt more like a friend than just a driver before we left, so friendly and informative. Spent time on the go karts, and every one was again so helpful and friendly, when we arrived home my grandson was so excited to find he was #14 in the top 100 Proskill via their email, at 12 years old it made him so proud! The museum is a MUST see for all the nostalgia and history, we spent hours looking around and reading. To my surprise taking photos was not an issue, every staff member made us feel so welcome, we went back the next day for the go karts, and on the day before we left it was Harrison's choice to go back again, they remembered us and it truly felt so wonderful. His dream now is to go back and work and drive for Highlands and Tony Quinn. Highland is a remarkable accomplishment and a credit to all involved. Hopefully Hazza 224 as he calls his driving name will be back to meet Tony and drive for him. That would be his next dream come true! Thank you to all the team, and and extra thank you to Jeff, our new friend! Hope to go back again....
