Oh my goodness- the BEST money we have spent in a long while. Perry’s incredible knowledge and passion as he journeyed us through this protected environment and afforded us up close and personal views of wildlife not usually seen without a zoom lens. The interaction was facilitated in such a way that the wildlife had and felt no fear. Words cannot adequately describe the immense privilege of being on this very personal tour, the penguins sounded like they were purring!! the magical views, the never before seen or understood moments will be with us forever. If you are in Dunedin MAKE THIS A MUST SEE - you will walk away in awe 🤩🐧🦭🪶⛰🥰

We had the most amazing time the Argo tour with our guide,Perry, who owns Natures Wonders. His passion and enthusiasm about wildlife is unmatched.
We were able to see the seals, albatross and penguins from up close and personal.
Overall a wonderful experience and highly recommended the tour.

We have recently enjoyed a 3 week trip around the bottom of the South Island. While in Dunedin, we booked an Argo Wildlife Tour with Nature’s Wonders and this turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of our holiday.
We consider it a great privilege to have met the owner of this land and eco-tourism venture, Perry Reid, and to have experienced a personal tour with him on his family property. Perry has amazing knowledge, passion and enthusiasm. It was inspiring to learn how this family have been committed to developing the land and wildlife conservation on their property.
We were thrilled to get truly up-close viewing of blue penguins and fur seals and to experience that this wildlife had no fear of us. We learned that this is due, in part, to a policy of no touching, tagging or feeding of the wildlife.
The scenery and views from the property are stunning. The ride on the Argo was a new experience for us and was good fun.
We definitely plan return to Nature’s Wonders in the future. Thank you, Perry, for a fabulous visit. We will have no hesitation in recommending this tour to others.

A true conservation project that you get to live in for the duration of your exciting 8 wheel off-road vehicle tour. Perry, whose family have owned the land on which the tour is located for 200 years, was our tour guide. He is passionate, very knowledgeable and fun to have a yarn with. Because the land and beaches are all private, so you'll get to see up close blue eyed penguins, fur seals and various other local wildlife. We were quite lucky to be able to observe from mere metres days old fur seal pups and adults jostling for control.
We went on a slightly rainy day with a 18 month old. Don't let a bit of rain discourage you, the tour is more than worth a towel dry later.
Loved it

We saw furry seals and little blue penguins up close to us, highly recommend the wildlife tour!

Our Nature’s Wonder’s 8-wheeler tour was one of the highlights of our 5-weeks NZ-holiday. We had Nick as our private guide, who was very knowledgeable and kind, and went out of his way to show us all the beauty that NWN offers. The close-up views of the seals, seal pups, spotted shags, blue penguin’s, and of one yellow eyed penguin on a beach where no human being had set foot for decades, were so special. Likewise o-so-interesting was our talk afterwards with Perry over coffee on farming, conservation and tourism (including the difference between real-world-nature and an amusement park), and ‘the world’ .
The whole experience was more than worth the money, in particularly knowing where this money goes to …

About one hour from Dunnedin's port, in here you will encounter the nature on its own. The tour guides will really amaze you with the information about the seal colony that they will take you, and if you are lucky, as well you will be able to see the blue penguins, smallest on their kind of the penguins in the world. If you see them, it will be for a couple of seconds, as they can be nesting and do not like to be disturbed. At the location that you are taken, not pictures are allowed.

This is where you see nature and wildlife in its truest form. My wife and I went and had an amazing time. Probably one of the best things we did while in NZ. We count our selves so lucky to have seen the things we did. What Perry and his family have accomplished here is beyond words. Perry was so personable and funny, who doesn’t like a good pun? 5+ stars

Awesome the Argo trip is a lot of fun and Martin was very knowledgeable. Saw yellow eyed penguins and little blue penguins and plenty of seals

I was there recently and nature’s wonders was fantastic! Not only were the staff very polite and helpful the tour was extremely informative and our guide Nick was amazing. The staff care for the land and animals trying to protect the natural environments, hence why they don’t allow walking and only drive on certain tracks where they know it’s safe to do so. The animals are wild and we understand that guides can’t always promise you will see everything up close and personal like a zoo. We saw plenty and was super happy with the tour!

We took the winter tour and was taken in a 8 wheeler buggy on a thrilling ride with a very knowledgeable guide who showed us a nesting pair of blue penguins, viewed a pair of rare yellow eyed penguins from the hideout, and came up close to a colony of seal pups guarded by their mums! The view was amazing and the tour takes you to a privately owned piece of the peninsula where the owners make conservation their priority.
Definitely worth a go. Please abide by the rule of not approaching too close to the wild life, listen to your guide!!! It's not a petting zoo!!

Good adventure
Seals are cute and interesting to watch
Amazing views

Absolutely fantastic safari. We saw a seal pup feeding from an enclosed area approx 10 feet away. We saw baby Penguins up close and a variety of wildlife. We were lucky to have a tour conducted by the owner and he made it very special with his knowledge of the wildlife species and knowledge of New Zealand.

This time of year we had really dusty experience. They take you on a loop in 8WD amphibious vehicle and you have a few stops on the way. We saw cormorants up close, furry seals with cute cubs and little blue penguins. We also spotted two yellow eyed penguins, but from far away. We got much closer to those in Penguin Place, with awesome photo opportunities. To be fair, "Nature's Wonders Naturally" aren't that natural, after all you travel in loud vehicle and smell fumes most of the time. The ride was really fun though, and we had a great time.

Riding in the 8-wheeler ATV was the highlight, as it easily climbed rocky and channeled inclines which could flip a lesser vehicle. The place has put a lot of effort into conservation. We saw dewy-eyed seals, and got so close to penguins in their nest I learned what sound they make when they evacuate their bowels (a high-pitched squirt). Our guide was a friendly and knowledgeable Kiwi bloke who strayed into puns at one point, but was smart enough to veer away when my wife gave a heartfelt groan about his “no ewe-turn” joke

Even if the day was a bit cold and rainy, Nature's wonder naturally tour was fantastic.
The guide - Nick, was friendly, really knowlageable and keen to answer all the questions we had. We saw plenty of seals and pups, a couple of yellow-eye penguins as well as blue penguins. The 8 wheeler buggy is a fun way to discover the scenery but it is also my only critic: I would be pleased to see a more ecological and quieter vehicule as an enhancement for this Nature's wonder tour. Apart from that this is a must-do in the Otago Peninsula and so much better than going to a Zoo!!
We also had our lunch at the restaurant. All the food is home-made and really good.
I have no hesitation to recommend this family business for its nature preservation efforts, customer service and the wildlife on its land!

1 hour rough ride in 8 wheeled amphibious vehicle crushed in with 5 others + driver.
Good informative talk by driver mostly about their own exploits.
Up close to seal pups and adults.
Promised blue penguins - none on beach and if they were would have been long distance. Saw 1 adult and 2 chicks in nesting boxes which I guess met the promise...

This place is totally amazing!
A family-run national treasure.
My wife & I were lucky we got the best guide on offer back in July 2012. The owner was witty, very knowledgeable & genuinely still in love with nature & its preservation.
I think we were a little star-struck throughout the tour knowing he had been featured on Getaway twice.
Love to come back!

We went for a one hour drive in off-road buggys with guides to see furr seals and penguins. Guides were knowledgeable and friendly and scenery was amazing. Definitely have a go if you're in the area. The restaurant, Cafe and reception was unattended and photography of the penguins was not permitted.

I love the sound of the nature....
There was one seagull stayed closely and for long beside a dead seagull.....

We took our three children as a treat for end of school holidays. Absolutely loved it. Informative and everyone had a blast. So lucky to have this so close to us. Many thanks

If there's one trip you must do on the Otago Peninsular, it has to be this one. Getting up close and personal to the seals and penguins was definitely an eye-opener. The 8WD was another special experience!
C.
Absolutely amazing, truly the best experiences I've had. Highly recommend going, Perry our guide was educational and funny. He took us out on the 8WD. Doesnt get any real then that! Thanks again guys 😊
K.
Wonder experience. My kids enjoyed the 8-wheelers. And the scenery up on the hill is beautiful. The guide is very knowledgeable. The owner is exceptionally friendly.

A commercial complex could have been better mix for commericals + plus. So sorry it is just not that. Just drop by if you did not get opportunity to spot Blue Pengiuns and shells via tour from The Royal Albatross center otherwise do avoid
J.
Don't miss this one! You won't get closer to nature than this boutique experience 11/10 . I'd go back in a heartbeat

(Translated) So I can not understand the bad reviews here. We were received very friendly. Reserved the Argo Tour for $ 99. First got distributed rain jackets and then we went. Small group, only 5 people plus the guide. Already the ride in the Argo was funny, as it went over hill and dale. First we went to Robbenfelsen. We were very much explained and we were able to run extremely close without disturbing the animals. Then we went to the penguins. From the top you could look at a beach that has been untouched for 20 years to protect the animals. Through a pair of binoculars you could observe the Yellow Eyed Penguin, which is unfortunately threatened with extinction. Then we could go to the breeding grounds of the smallest penguins and watch very young from up close. We had plenty of time to ask questions and take pictures. It was just awesome. I can only recommend it and would do it again at any time.

(Translated) Awesome! Fantastic! See young seals frolicking in a pool! A penguin with two cubs in a nest. Of course you had to pay for this tour, walking is not an option. The land is privately owned but well worth the money for the tour.
We were there 12/23/2017; barely a visitor to confess due to Christmas of course ....

Geweldig! Fantastisch!

(Translated) I was lucky to do this safari without rain and in the birth season. The owners and guides are very motivated and respectful of the environment, enthusiastic and I loved this moment of beauty and pleasure.
