An amazing collection of creations that animate when turning a handle. The multitude of smart creations or based on either mechanical, water or electrical principles is captivating. I spent a long time there while trying out the never ending supply of gadgets. We did not manage to visit the extensive outside collection but will certainly go there when we visit the area again.

The coolest spot ever!!
Many eye-catching stuffs, engineering's arts which created by a friendly owner. It is all about imagination and creative.
Awesome works, it is totally worth it for $8 entry fee.

Great place. Something different for everyone. You just cannot see and take everything in. Highly recommended

This place is a “must visit“! Full of unique handmade interactive objects, it was so much fun and such a one of a kind place. You can visit the wagon for free but it is so worth paying the entry fee to see the rest.

A great place to stop for a really cool, random interactive immersive experience. Spend some time in the bus and check out all out, then pay the $8 each and go through the interactive exhibit. It's all so well done and lots of fun. There's even a wee caravan cafe here with coffee, some food, ice cream, etc (even some vegan stuff). Well worth the stop, and allowing for a bit of time to enjoy the experience here :)

100% recommend stopping here, its a must-visit. We didn't get to meet the artist, but I wanted to express my admiration for his art. Interactive art has to be my favourite and we could've stayed there for hours just exploring his work. Papatowai passes you in the blink of an eye, but make the detour, it's well worth it. And the coffee's great ;)

Well worth a stop! The old house bus is filled with some pretty amazing trinkets, many of which are hands on. There is also a little coffee caravan on-site with some outdoor seating

What a fabulous little find on our Catlins tour. A unique experience with lots of interactive things to play with. You really have to go and experience it yourself. You can rest and relax with a cuppa before or after. We just stumbled upon this place as we saw a sign that said "lots of things with handles' and it piqued our interest. We are glad we turned back and checked it out.
