The story's you will hear when you enter this place, make me fell very honoured. Because this is the ONLY place in the world that shows the history of how maori paid the price of citizenship here on there own land and working on a partnership with the crown of Britain.

I appreciated and respected the memorial type event. It's nice, small and free. Beautiful pictures, peaceful place.
However, not the most interesting place. It would be fun having someone explaining/showing us around. Someone talking from experience or about someone they knew would be cool. It's missing a human contact.
Good thing it's free.

Always a solemn place for reflection on the "Price of Citizenship," for Maori of Te Tairawhiti and for all soldiers who have served.

Built as a memorial to C Company soldiers of the 28th Maori Battalion, it also includes servicemen and women of any ethnicity from the Tairawhiti region.

Moving but take your time. You have to imagine all the young men leaving their Mums and Dads and whanau. Nanny Bubby is exceptional

Great place to learn your history of the C Company war. If you have family in the war, come down. Great Place!

Humbling to learn about the contributions the local people made in world war 1 & 2.
