I've never gotten so up close and personal with friendly, busy bumble and honey bees before, but it was nice and relaxing. Wife and sister loved collected their own bunch of lavender, and I more liked the meditation, photo taking, and ... their fresh blueberry ice cream / frozen yoghurt hehe. Unfortunately we missed the season for blueberry picking, but next time we'll come a little early.

I had such a lovely time at Lavender Backyard Garden. The place is absolutely awesome 🌿. You can smell the lavender all the way from the carpark and down the street 🚗
They do require people to make a booking 📖 but only so that they can manage the numbers under the current traffic light 🚦Since it wasn't too busy, I was able to slip in, but others might be disappointed when they get here. It costs $6 to enter, which goes towards maintenance, and which I don't think is too expensive for the experience 🤑
It's not very big, but it is big enough to have a fabulous time 😘 There are benches, so you can have a lovely picnic, or buy some coffee from the caravan and enjoy the sweet smells while sipping some delicious coffee ☕
They have a great little shop that sells all sorts of lavender products that is made on site 🛍 I wanted to buy everything! The ladies are very friendly and helpful 😉
Bonus: There is also a huge blueberry orchard, and you can go blueberry picking 🌳🌳 How fantastic is that?! They also sell yummy blueberry ice cream, with a hint of lavender🍦
N.
Entrance fee to the farm is 10 dollars and you can book ahead on their website. This lavender farm is right next to the highway so you might capture cars and line post in your background when your are taking photos. The farm is small and few parking slots available. They charge 10 dollars for lavender picking. They also have blueberry picking inside the farm, pick all the berries you want and they will charge by the weight but you can eat as many as you like while picking without charge. They have a small gift shop with lots of lavender items. They sell blueberry & strawberry ice cream which you can choose between a vanilla or frozen yogurt base. There is no cafe in the area so you need to eat before going there or find a place in cambridge or hamilton to eat after visiting.

Had a great time, you get way more lavender then you think you will when you start picking. Topped it off with a blueberry frozen yogurt cone that had a hint of lavender. Yummy.
W.
Nice surprise on your way home. You're able to cut a jar full of flower stems here to take home and there are plenty of soaps and other handmade gifts available. Perfect place to stop and get some great photos.
t.
A great spot during summer, you can take aesthetic photos for the gram. $10 for a jar, you can fill a lot! Another must try is THE BLUEBERRY ICECREAM with a tinge of lavender!!! It’s so good I had it twice! And most of all the owners are the nicest people!
L.
Nice activity for a day out that's not too far from Hamilton. Take a hat and sunscreen if picking on a hot day!
S.
Awesome place to visit. Advantage its got compared to other similar farms is that its closer to Hamilton city, also has a blueberry farm, an ice cream parlor and some staged photo locations (an of purple tractor). You could also pluck flower stems for a small fee and take them home. Only disadvantage is that the lavender farm itself is not very huge, its hard to get the never ending look on photos unless camera is placed intelligently.
S.
Nice trees shade to relax while admiring the row of beautiful lavender flowers.
L.
This is a beautiful spot and so great to pick some beautiful lavender to take home. You cant help to take loads of photos too. Lady behind the counter was friendly. Oh and if you see a young boy running after you its because you didn't see him sitting behind the sign for him to check your ticket on entry. Everyone got chased down 🤣🤣
Parking is terrible and if its busy and sounds like it is most weekend's you can park on the side of the road but just beware that's it's on a 100km road.
T.
I love to spend my time here. They have great coffee, simple food, and ice cream. We came here for blueberries picking (plenty of blueberries.. but you need to know how to pick and where to find those..). They have $3 entry fee, which I think it’s reasonable for maintaining this great field. Also, we came and pick our own lavender. Our kids love here!
A.
Stopped here to take in the lavender fields and pick my own blueberries. Loved it. When you walk through the lavender fields, it is teeming with bees. The shop sells jams, moisturizer, insect repellent, essential oils and such with the lavender theme. Coffee, pastries and ice cream also available.
K.
The shop was great, we just happened to go at the very tail end of season, so lavender wasn't in bloom.
M.
we had so much fun picking lavender today ,yummy ice cream , friendly staff and we took beautiful pictures definitely will be back .
G.
Had an awesome experienced in your lavender backyard. We will do it again.
M.
A very nice small lavender farm. We actually went here to pick blueberries but today is a ‘no blueberry picking day’. Tried their blueberry ice cream and it’s sooo good! Picking lavenders cost $10 for a jar including entry. $2 for entry only. Love the experience of picking my own lavenders. 💕
C.
Lovely place to visit. Thanks Samantha for the lavender care advice! Happy New Year! See you in spring ;)
S.
Lovely lavender garden open to public for free viewing and photos! (: my family could smell the flowers from a distance. Great variety of products and the lady boss was very friendly and warm! Visit them if you’re in the area. The blueberries are huge and sweet- much better than those you would buy from the supermarkets.
J.
Place is good and staffs are friendly. You need topay thoughfor entrance fee. They sell icecream and other lavender stuff there too. Limitted parking space. Please visit only durong lavender season
T.
What a wonderful place! The smell is amazing and you get to pick your own lavender. They also sell a great selection of lavender items.
J.
Love this Lavender Farm. It's a small one but you can enjoy the sweet smell of Lavender Flowers! You have to pay if you want to pick some, which I forgot to do yay. And by the way there's a $3 entrance fee. The cute little boy in the entrance door will check on your tickets 😊
D.
Very beautiful but didn't realize you had to have a set time for entry and leaving the gardens, we thought initially it was open anytime to walk in
G.
This place was fantastic to go to. A bit busy with all sorts of families around. Loved that you could walk between the bushes and also that you could cut your own Lavender should you want to. As an added bonus the Blueberry trees were also open for you to pick fresh berries off. The best thing about the place is that it is not expensive to visit and the cost of fresh lavender and the blueberries is also cheaper than what I would expect from any place that allows you to cut your own.
P.
Its nice not big, but well maintained... just a bit more carpark area would be lovely...
D.
Beautiful display of lavender n didn't know it was on our doorstep.
Unfortunately the owners charge each person $3 each to go in to the field and take photos etc. This wouldn't bother me if we hadn't just brought ice creams and lavender products from the shop first.
I think they should just allow you in for free if you spend over $20
H.
Beautiful farm you just need to come at the right time. And $3 entrance fee is cheap and totally appropriate. Real fruit lavender blueberries icecream is THE BEST i have ever tried so its a must. Owner is very friendly and always smiling. Thank you !
C.
Such a beautiful place to visit. The lavender gardens are stunning and have an amazing smell. Yummy blueberry ice cream and we purchased some of the lavender body oil, hand cream and sleep balm which are all fantastic. Nice place to take the kids, a hidden gem in Hamilton.
L.
Very nice place with kind owners who take the time to talk to you. It's a family run business which is also nice. The Lavender farm is small but very sweet and the products they have in their small store are lovely! We purchased some gifts for family and dried lavender ☺️ worth the trip if your in the area
S.
First time here wasn't planned we just went for a road trip after lunch and found your farm and thought we'd popped by. I'm glad we did, its so beautiful to see the beautiful Lavenders 😍 i reccomend to go here and pick your own to take home as well. Yes definitely take a camera for nice photos 📷
E.
Pretty little lavender farm which is a beauty! Blueberry picking available and a little boutique for goodies too! We traveled from Auckland and love the place. Amazing place to spend some time, take pictures and chill with an ice cream taking some lavender and blueberries home.
O.
We come here every year to pick Lavenders, sometimes if we are lucky we can pick blueberries. A gteat place to spend a afternoon with family and friends. Have an ice cream and take photos of the lovely purple field.Highly recommended site in Hamilton.
J.
Lavender is a perennial herb plant and it produces long stems with buds and blooms. The fields gave off wonderful and aromatic smell.
C.
Nice place to visit. I came with a couple of kids and my mother and we had lots of fun picking different varieties of lavender. It is $10 if you want to pick and only $2 if you just want to enter and explore. During blueberry season there is also pick your own blueberries. There is a gift shop there with lots of different lavender and blueberry products. Refreshments are available. Thanks for a super morning!
A.
Lovely small lavender and blueberry farm to visit. Only $2 to enter to take photos, costs a bit more to pick lavender. There was no blueberry picking available when I went. Nice budget place to stop by for your classic lavender farm photos, one star off for the porta potty toilets though.
E.
The whole family had a good time picking blueberries and snapping pictures of the lavender garden.. friendly people too.
J.
Lovely place with lots of photo opportunities. It smells so great here.
A.
One of the best place to be visit. Tracy recommend this awesome place, look forward to connect with 0926 🥰🙋🏻♀️
K.
Very cute outing, not much to do other than take photos or pick your own lavender. Blueberrys weren't in season when I went, but the blueberry ice cream was outstanding
V.
What a beautiful sight this was. The soothing smell gets you before you even get out of the car. There's a little boutique which sells some great lavender products. Lip balm was my favorite. Entry fee to lavender farm is $3 per person, $10 if you want to pick your own lavender. Ladies at the boutique were very friendly.
b.
Nice shop selling lavender products, icecream and coffee. Coffee available from mid December so check first if going for the coffee. Brilliant lavender garden. Definitly take your camera. Nice rural setting.
P.
We made a family day trip to Hamilton in January, visited this attraction and were delightfully surprised by the beauty and serenity of the surrounds and friendliness of the staff.Went there last week. There's no entrance fee for now as they mentioned that we'll find it hard to find the berries. We were able to find a lot of berries. $11 per kilo of berries you pick. Would highly recommend.
y.
I got one cup of lavender blueberry ice cream which was wonderful balance of blueberry and lavender. I was worried the lavender would overpower the ice cream but it was very well balanced with tiny pieces of lavender through out. The grounds are very cute and well thought out lots of perfect picture spots for IG.
S.
I recently visited the Lavender Backyard Garden and purchased some blueberry jam, fresh blueberries, a lavender plant and some lavender oil. Everything I purchased was fabulous. The plant is happily growing in my garden, the blueberries disappeared super fast! The jam was flavourful and not too sugary and the lavender oil is of a high quality. Apart from all the goodies I purchased, I also had the experience of dropping my wallet outside the shop and driving off merrily down the road none the wiser. An hour later when I discovered it was missing, I got in touch with the owner and she searched the car park for me and found it! I was so relieved and appreciative of her assistance. I'll definitely be back for more goodies on the next trip. Thank you :)
M.
Went here to see their lavender farm. Iys quiet and not crowded so good to take photos. Its free viewing for the public so its awesome. They have a little cute shop where you can find all the lavender things you can think of beside that is their lovely cafe. Staffs here ate super nice and friendly.

It is actually a small lavender garden but for an evening it’s good to visit with your kids as family and in the backyard you can pick blueberries , You have to pay entrance fees for that is 3$ & additional payment according to your pluck amount
Z.
Good place, really beautiful and it’s free! BTW try the ice cream
G.
Went there last week. There's no entrance fee for now as they mentioned that we'll find it hard to find the berries. We were able to find a lot of berries. $11 per kilo of berries you pick. Would highly recommend.
