J.Awesome gallery, welcoming and inviting with beautiful succulent garden by the entry and amazing artwork inside!
J.I had the joy of visiting quirky, atmospheric Hokitika in the middle of stormy weather at the beginning of January this year. The place is enchanting and I would love to go back for the Driftwood Festival as well as the Wild Food Festival. This gallery was the icing on the cake, with great quality local gifts, and high quality New Zealand art and crafts. It is run by Wilderness Gallery photographer Juergen Schacke and his wife Monika with style, friendliness and excellent service.
After leaving I decided I had made a mistake in not buying one of the items I had seen and contacted the gallery by email. It was no problem for them to identify it and post it on to me.
Juergen and Monika have recently rescued this gallery (and already run the excellent Wilderness Gallery next door) and have made a wonderful job with the space. I will be back!
J.Highly recommended place to visit if you are planning to Hokitika. The main highlight is the presentation of the craft work. I sent few hours in the Craft Gallery without even knowing that time is running out 😅. .
S.I had a really fantastic experience with this place! I tracked down a piece of jewellery that I saw on the internet that was in their show room. I live in France but I wanted to get it to my mum in Nz for her birthday. The owner was great and replied quickly to my email confirming that the piece was available and organising it all through PayPal so that I could have it delivered to my mum. Really great, fast and friendly customer service. I am super appreciative ♥️

S.Lovely shop with a variety of beautiful crafts. The shop is run by some of the artists in the co-op who were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend stopping in if you are looking for high quality local crafts. I bought a gorgeous merino blanket scarf to take home to Canada with me. I love it.
P.We revisited this Gallery just one week ago and thrilled to see the beautiful selection of Art and Jewellery is still available along with the vibrancy of displays and changes that have been made since our last visit. We were priviledged to meet up with Jurgen and his Wife again and also have time with Karen (what a beautiful warm and caring young lady she is) who made us feel sooo welcome.....an absolute joy to be back and see them still afloat during these tough times. Thankyou for sharing with us .
H.Wonderful place to visit, bought pictures of NZ birds, and a gorgeous brooch. Easy to pack in a suitcase. Lovely people very helpful.

T.One of the most fascinating gift shops i have had the pleasure of walking into . The price is up there , but the high quality and attention to detail is out of this world . We were so impressed that we bought a few garden ornaments . The staff member was very polite and helpful.
