An awesome shop to support the local artists. As an ads Accredited tour guide, I’ve driven pass this city many times but never had the chance to go in. Now I do. Lots of interesting things to sell, price tags are high. I suppose the rent in Hokitika isn’t much as such big shop wouldn’t exist in Auckland. Hope that this shop can survive in this Covid global pandemic.

A fantastic gallery run by Juergen Schacke and his wife Monika featuring Juergen's stunning photos and local crafts. They have recently taken over the Craft Gallery next door and both offer riches of local art and crafts, an absolute treat!

Gorgeous works of art from a variety of local craftspeople/artisans ranging from wood turning and pottery to beautiful pounamu carvings and limestone fossil pendants that are absolutely one of a kind! Owner himself is a fantastic photographer and very knowledgeable and passionate about the area and, of course, art. This gallery was one of our favorite stops during our tour of the west coast and a hidden gem - wholeheartedly recommend.

Fantastic gallery with the art of at least 20 local artists tastefully displayed. Very reasonably priced products. The gallery is owned by a photographer who has a great eye for photos and for discovering quality artists. There were so many items I could have purchased.

Great selection of art from unusually good artists. The owner really seems to know his stuff and chooses good artists. We checked out shops all over town and found the things to be much nicer here. The prices seemed reasonable.

It's a brilliant gallery featuring prints and photoblocks etc of photos taken by the owner, amongst other wares presented in a creative and aesthetically pleasing way. The goods are high quality and reasonably priced, unlike the boring standard fare found in most giftware stores in NZ. As an amateur photographer myself, I appreciate the authenticity of Jurgen's photos, which are delightfully free of the common and excessive post-processing and saturation boosts that take away all the magic. Jurgen and his wife are incredibly friendly and attentive owners as well. Well worth a visit!
