Felt like literally the only thing to do in Invercargill. This place made the drive to Invercargill worth it and I highly highly recommend it. I didn’t go to the motorcycle collection (which was at a different location) but I should have. Everything in here was so thought out, it was well looked after and maintained so well. So many collections, and not only cars. Even the toilets were one of a kind!

If u are a car lover this is something u should definitely see when u are in Invercargill. They have a huge collection of car like I have never seen before. The place is designed to aesthetically as well.

Great place to go and see. Plenty of reminiscing to be done. Food in the Cafe also great

Massive collection, it was difficult not to touch but there is only one piece you can interact with and it is signed. There are so many other automotive memorabilia there as well, along with unrelated items such as Cadbury, McDonald's etc. There is even a piano for you to play if you are able. Be prepared to spend hours here. I only intend to be an hour and that quickly turned into 3! The cafe was nice, though it gets busy around lunch so be quick.

A place of history, art, engineering, skills, passion. Beautiful displays, cars of all decades. Never ending displays.

This place is amazing. I would recommend to everyone. The collection is of the highest standard. Was great to see the Cadbury truck in pride of place.

5stars, and we only made it to the cafe 😂. We literally had half an hour to spare before hitting the airport and our Invercargill patron Dave brought us here. Dave is passionate about Invercargill, and we can see why. With dedicated folk committed to sharing their hard earned labours with their community, the results are places like this! World class. World leading. Jaw dropping. Quintessentially kiwi. NZ needs this. Papamoa needs this. Can you come to Papamoa. Please. We haven’t even been through the display, that’ll be next trip ……

The whole exhibition was amazing. 270 plus vehicles in great condition. Worth it.

Absolutely the most amazing vintage car, truck, and memorabilia collection that I have seen on this planet! What is even more amazing is that almost all the vehicles on display are in fully restored and running condition, and are used in car shows, movies, etc. This is the only place that I have seen every single production model of the Model T on display. Also, the collection of Volkswagen bugs and buses is pretty amazing. They have a large collection of Volkswagen camper buses and a few camping trailers, too. I spent hours in this museum, and probably will go back again. The other amazing thing that I learned is that the vehicles on display in this museum only make up about 1/4 of the total collection! Definitely a “must see” when you are in the area!!

Car lover's paradise, not only collection but also history.

Amazing collection of vintage cars, trucks and tractors. Excellent for anyone with even a mild interest in automotive history.

Out of the many museums and alike i have visited this is on a whole new level. From the pure size & scale to the incredible details this is mind blowing. Even if you are not a car person you will still Marvell at the displays. Ensure you make time to spend a full day there as you will need it. My wife and i thought we would be a couple of hours there and were we wrong. Cant recommend enought.

Fantastic place, an amazing assortment of transportation history (and other kiwiana history as well). Definitely a must visit in New Zealand if you are mechanically minded and even if you are not! Give yourself a couple of hours at the very least. Well worth it.

Amazing place.. so much more than an extensive and complete vehicle range!!you need a whole day to get around!! And the restaurant...fantastic food...spectacular service..highly recommend this world class attraction!!

Highly recommend coming to visit Transport World - the place is enormous with things to discover everywhere. Just when you think you've got to the end you walk through another door and find and even bigger area waiting to be discovered! We were there for over 4 hours on a rainy day in July and I'm sure we still missed some things. Be warned it's pretty cold throughout, so make sure to take a warm top!

This is Must do Invercargill visit. Truly spectacular vintage automobile museum. Collection and restoration of vintage trucks, Cars, Music Jukeboxes, Tractors is amazing. Can spend 2 hours easily.

Simply huge collection. Well worth a good half day to browse the fill collection. We only saw the transport museum. Great cafe too. Other little gems of other collections to interest everyone in the family. Check out the themed toilets!

Loved it and so did the whole family. More than just cars & trucks (which are amazing) but something for the whole family with the Lego, wearable art and vintage/classic house hold items from everyday life from the 60's 70's & 80's

Immaculate presentation of many vehicle categories along with related stuff like petrol pumps/bowsers, oils, tyres...... etc., a nod to the Wearable Arts festivals. Trucks, cars, tractors etc on display along with many informative videos dotted around the display, a chance to sit, catch your breath and add to the experience.

Nice to see how a family can do well

I took some friends, including people without any interest in cars and we all ended up enjoying the place. There are heaps of antique vehicles and its totally worth a visit, even if you're not a fan of cars and trucks. We had an amazing tour with Peter and has taken us just over 4 hours to finish all, but at a normal pace it should take you around 2 hours.

Great place to see everything automotive and more. Great cafe too "The Grille". Need at least half a day to have a good look. Highlight of our trip. Great helpful staff too. 😁

An experience not to be missed. Truck museum out of this world & the food from their Grille restaurant was outstanding. Money well spent

What a gem, this is a must see if in Invercargill. I would go as far to say it is worth traveling here for. Very good service and many spaces available for conferences, with great catering to boot. The collection far exceeded my expectations and has amazing detail plus a wide variety of vehicles. Everyone involved should be very proud of the achievement!

Great place. A wee bit on the expensive side to gain access which i am sure puts people off but really glad we chose to go in and look and of course admire a superb collection of automobiles.

Well worth the visit but you need the day there. Have lunch in the Cafe great food there and go to the motorbike one after.

We were given a warm welcome with a great explanation of the layout etc. the exhibits were well kept and there was a staggering amount of classic cars and trucks on display. We had a blast.

Awesome experience! A huge variety of displays to look at, not just the beautiful cars and trucks. Also a great variety of creative wearable arts displays, a Lego room and plenty more. All very creatively done, including the restrooms, make sure you check these out!

If interested in the transport industry then this transport museum is a must to see. Something like 250 trucks and much more on display and nothing in the world would match it. It's my second time as couldn't take it all in first time. Dress warm in winter as it's not possible to heat a building of this size economically.

I rarely enjoy these places this much! Each room leads to more awesome displays. The VW room spun my head! The family story is as important a part of the experience as the vehicles. Loved it.

Number one disappointment was that they don't allow you to revisit the next day on your ticket if you arrive later in the day. So you pay just as much but have less time to see it all. Yet, if you purchase the double pass to this and the Motorcycle Mecca, they allow you to choose to visit it the following day! Go figure. The biggest and most amazing collection of trucks, cars, petrol bowsers, juke boxes, tractors, motors, clothing fashion and history galore under several huge roof spans. You need a whole day to thoroughly appreciate all that this museum has to offer. Parking was good for my disability. Some levels only accessible by stairs which would have been disappointing if I had had the time and wanted to see those areas.

I went to the transport museum with no expectations and left impressed by the Quality and amount of objects presented. I'm a fan of modern cars but still enjoyed the oldtimer and trucks a lot. But there are so many more objects to see like old gas pumping stations, model cars, tractors etc. I recently visited the Dearborn Ford museum and would rate it same quality, even though the choice of exhibits is a bit different of course. Great day!

Can spend hours here what a great place to bring back past memories. Fabulous selection of vehicles etc. Great food in the cafe. Really enjoyed our time there and worth the cost of admission

Only went to the restaurant there did not look at the vehicles. Food was quite good but could have had a bit more taste.

Must visit place if you're around, many cars, trucks and tractors to see. You can buy here a ticket to the museum together with ticket for the motorbike mecca. There's always someone inside the museum, who can answer your questions about any of the cars or trucks, sometimes with a story about that vehicle.

So much to see you could spend hours wandering around looking at all the different exhibits. Lovely cafe inside and excellent gift shop

Brilliant. Had a great morning checking out the vehicles and all the other displays. A great place to visit.

Had a great time looking at everything going down memory lane it's the 2nd time for me .I live at one tree point in the far north . Got the ticket for my 70th thanks Michelle mike & kids . I have a mini & Morris 1000

Awesome afternoon if you like trucks and transport type things, interesting and really well laid out. Not too busy when I went, and the ambience was excellent. Nice background music and low lighting was a nice touch. All in a really decent celebration of Bill Richardson's life.

This is a must see works class tourist attraction in Invercargill. The early Ford collection is mint and appreciated very much even by a General Motors supporter. Even the wife enjoyed the visit. There is a lot more to see though. From the Cadbury memorabilia through to the early Combi van and onto the big rigs and tractors and much more. Visit and be surprised by the other displays of memorabilia. You can tell that it’s being run for love and not for money.

Amazing place lots of history to been seen. Very well presented and immaculately clean, staff presented incredibly friendly and helpful. Cafe has delicious food and hot drinks. Definitely recommend a visit. And also make sure you visit the bathrooms even if you dont require to use them they are worth a look very cleverly done.

Tardis of a museum! Every time you go around another corner you are hit with another hall full of trucks, cars, tractors bulldozers. It goes on and on. Countless rare and unusual machines that are obviously the result of a lifetime of dedication to building up and restoring this visual symphony for petrol and diesel heads. 😎

Brilliant display.The early model Ford collection is worth seeing just by itself. Great restaurant as well.

This place is BIG ! If you have an interest in old cars or trucks you must visit. The place is incredibly well set up and they have done an excellent job of the displays.

Heaps and heaps of old car collection and a lot of other things. That's the most awesome thing about this place. You could spend hours and hours and hours looking at the old collections. Plus learning about Bill and his motivation behind building this "transport" world is amazing If you are a car enthusiast such as myself. I say go for it

Great place to visit if you are ever in Invercargill. You dont need to be a car or truck enthusiast to enjoy this! Family friendly and has a cafe for food and drink breaks. There is a charge for admission. This is $30 per adult.

Absolutely fascinating place. Learning how Bill started his business and started collecting his vehicles. There are some very old and technical machines in there mixed in with retired vehicles from his fleet.

Expensive for a family but was worth it. Everyone enjoyed it from preschooler too teenager and our girly girl.

Just went for a meal. Didn't have time to go into museum. Looks interesting. Will have to schedule on another trip south.

Out of this world. A woman's experience. Somehow I managed to spend 5 hours in there. Wearable art was a great sight to encounter.

From the outside and in the cafe, it all looks amazing. It would be good if there was a discounted price for visiting after 3pm as the full price was a little steep...

Wow this place is incredible! The care and dedication that has gone into restoring these beautiful cars, trucks and so many other wonderful things into such a fantastic display! True commitment and a must see if you're anywhere near Invers! If your visiting over the cooler months, definitely take a jacket as you don't want to cut your visit short! Coffee's great too 👍🏻

What an awesome place. Well worth the visit. Even has things for the ladies to look at. Check out the rest rooms.

For people interested in heavy vehickes this is a unique space. If you're a photographer be aware light levels in several areas are extremely low. There are some genuinely interesting vehicles here. The collection could not be said however to themed, think of it as an eclectic mix, with some great surprises. Everything from the cafe to the toilets is well thought out and presented. Thoroughly recommended, allow plenty of time, there is a lot to see.

Such an amazing collection. Much bigger than you would think! Love that kids (and their attention spans) have been considered with the cool treasure hunt and the "kids room" with Lego, ipads, books etc and a couch for the parents to take a break. A must see and do when you're in Invercargill

This is venue is truly astounding. Be prepared to spend at least 4hrs and you will still no see it all

Never had Blue Cod before so I tried it here and unfortunately it was terrible, dry and tasteless, but some of the other food was nice. Staff in the cafe were helpful and pleasant. The museum was fantastic and definitely want to bring my kids here, very high quality restore and selection of cars.

Fabulous... so down memory lane. a couple of lttle tears snuck out of my eyes Just so many memories Visitors l advise to wrap up some of the display area was bone chilling cold. Cafe was very plesant lovely soup and ciffee to die for. Bill Richardson you were a great boss and mentor to a few members of my family.. a much respected man.

Absolutely loved it!!! Even nana and my 5 1/2 year old son from the Lego room to the Texaco truck mcds collection the Cadbury chocolate room the whole set up is excellent!!! Well worth the money, all I can say is allow at least min 2 hours, you will not be disappointed!!!!!

This is a fantastic experience but make sure you have lots of time. There is 100s of trucks and cars, many representing early days of NZ and the growing transport industry. Took us over 4.5 hours with a stop for an excellent bowl of seafood chowder at the cafe

I don't think you would get a better selection of cars and trucks anywhere. The place just goes on and on. There always seems to be another room full of trucks. Restorations have been top class with many yet to be done. It was good to see them in the before state. You could easily spend at least half a day here and that's not including the motorcycles. Also other odd collections such as juke boxes. There is a cafe on site.

A must for car enthusiasts or even if your not you will still love it. Extraordinary collection of cars and memorabilia.

World Class, highlight of the trip and worth going to Invercargill to see. The kids loved it as did us adults. Cafe was great as well

Bloody awesome. Give yourself half day minimum, I've been half a dozen times and see something new each time. Food at the cafe is awesome as well awesome lunches

Our second time here, a few years since the last trip. So much here that you always find something new. We want to come back for the movie! Our son (6) had fun doing the hunt for hamburgers.

Interested in trucking, you cannot leave Invercargill without visiting Transport World. This is a world class museum of transport that covers a much wider range than simply trucking. There is plenty for the ladies with the wearable art's display not to mention the on sight cafe.

This place is BIG ! If you have an interest in old cars or trucks you must visit. The place is incredibly well set up and they have done an excellent job of the displays.

What an amazing place to view a multitude of collections from cars to trucks, bikes to tractors, toys to tins, and even jukeboxes and wearable arts thrown in for good measure. Full credit to the family of Bill Richardson for their vision and passion. A must see, regardless of whether you are a petrol head or not. Bring your walking shoes. Allow 3 hours or more to view the extensive exhibits.

I was surprised by this place, amazing collection of cars and NZ memorabilia. We had limited time but would allow a good few hours to look around. Highly recommend.

Beautifully restored vehicles, lots of info about their history. Would have given 5 stars except some of the more interesting vehicles didn't have enough light on them.

It's wonderful for families and children to explore all sorts of transportation and so forth. Thoroughly enjoyed it, just wish we had more days to explore each area a bit more, as it's such a big museum type building.

Amazing place with literally hundreds of really well restored old vehicles, the majority of which were trucks. Also some really interesting ancillary displays. Loved the mockup cinema with chaise lounges. Really worth the visit.

Remarkable story. How proud we must all feel of this family, their success story and generosity to the Community. Outstanding package, historical aspect of the Museum, gleaming displays AND superb lunch in the Cafe. Excellent service from lovely staff. Thank you.

Very, very cool. Even if you're not that into trucks, cars etc, you will appreciate Transport World- something for everyone. Even watched some old Cadbury adds, and a bit of Mr Ed and the Beverley Hillbillies, and you must go yo all the toilets.

This is a must see. Has to be one of the best collections in the world. It had everything. Even if you like the old fuel pumps,you will find more there than you can take photos of. Go, you will not be disappointed

Had meeting there in room up stairs nice clean and tidy not enough chairs tho and not enough food for smoko for everyone but what food was there was very nice 🙂

The vehicles are awesome ☺️ we had a Christmas do there. The food was pretty good didn't like the pudding the pav was a bit eggy and yuck! Pretty good entertainment band was very good 🙂 upstairs they had a room where you put some headphones on with different music and stuff that was pretty cool. The only thing that I would complain about is the handicapped toilets downstairs. The hand dryer is so loud it's deafening and I was standing . So I hate to think what that would be like if you were in a wheelchair at that level and the sliding door out of the handicapped toilet is so hard to open I had to use my full body weight!

Every kiwi has to visit this place to see the vast collection of old trucks and cars to appreciate kiwi history ....including Cadbury chocolate 1928 truck...... brilliant kiwi memorbillia

Well where do I start, if your an automotive nut you'll be in the right place. They have a fantastic display of cars, trucks, motorbikes & memorabilia plus a cracking food menu. You'll find very polite knowledgeable staff that are more than happy to help.

Amazing food and they are happy to cook to customer demands. Best place in some time

Best presentation of vehicles I've ever seen. Went with my wife and her 89 year-old mother and both would visit again. Front reception staff were very helpful in providing a wheelchair and blanket for the mother-in-law.

Vast vast collection which is quite eclectic at times. Needs a lot more descriptive info on more exhibits but a must visit for transport enthusiasts and interesting to those who have to tag along.

Fantastic selection of vehicles. Food was good in the cafe and you could sit in old styled rooms. I know they have to keep the vehicles Cool, so I would recommend wearing warm clothes. Really worth the visit. So much to see

So many Trucks to look at just fantastic. Also all sorts of cars. Something for everyone. The people who we spoke to where lovely and enthusiastic about what they were doing.

This is remarkable collection of transport history. Not only does each vehicle hold numerous tales but the presentation and facilities are a credit to the Richardson family. A must go even if you are not interested in motoring history.

Absolutely fantastic. Hundreds of beautifully restored vehicles from bubble cars to heavy trucks, dating all the way back to the original Ford Model A. The museum is a wonderful place with so many thoughtful additions, restrooms decorated with old auto parts, rest stations, old shops, sets made just for photo opportunities, and much more. A must see while in Invercargill.

OH MY GOD, this is the most amazing place I have ever been to. I sent my wife and kids off somewhere and indulged myself for the entire day and still could have come back the next day if we could've. We came from Perth W.A (pre covid) and the only thing on my wish list was this place and Motorcycle Mecca, both of which far exceeded my expectations. Even the catering facility was so amazing with everything around you in some sort of motor theme. (Food was awesome too) What a petty we don't have something like this in oz. Well done and congratulations on such an outstanding place.

What a fantastic collection. We have visited after seeing a leaflet at our hotel in Dunedin. Had a meal before looking round . Quality of the food and service was good. Didn't have time to look through all the collection as had a two hour drive to our next stop. Well worth the visit.

So pleased I went. The work that has gone in to creating such an amazing museum. I certainly would recommend a visit.

Absolutely amazing place. Highly recommend it to anyone even those who are not that interested in cars and trucks. It's huge with heaps of cool stuff to look at and some interactive stuff as well. World class. Motorcycle Mecca in Invercargill also well worth a look. And to top your trip off go to E Hayes hardware store and you'll forever wish you had one close to where you live like me.

Spectacular exhibits which are a little bit different an surprising. Trucks, Cars, Pedal Cars, Wearable Art of the most exuberant and extravagant designs. A MUST visit when anywhere near Invercargill.

Great place. With real awesome old cars, old trucks old motorcycles and other beautiful pieces of history. Including THE GOODBYE PORK PIE MINI.

If you have some love for cars or just vehicles, this is an absolute must! However if you don't, still visit to admire the beautiful paint jobs on the vehicles and you might see your own reflection to keep you busy

Really cool place to stroll around， I spent just under 2 hours there and was never stuck for something to do. Grille cafe is also very reasonably priced and delicious. Grille cafe use Havana coffee as well which is a nice smooth blend.

Very well displayed collection. The facilities are brilliant. Awesome to be able to view such a collection.

This place is like nothing else I've ever seen! It is HUGE! Allow 2 hours to look around, plus another hour at least to sample the amazing cafe food and environment! Very interesting reading the history of where each truck comes from. Great opportunities for kids to get hands on. A real experience

Firstly: this is an utterly amazing collection. If you are a vintage car or truck enthusiast, this place is awesome. 5 stars. We have two young girls and we're not that into old cars. Our gripe with the museum, fair or not, is that there isn't much for kids to do in the exhibits. There is the Lego room, yes, but you kids have to be supervised by a parent. This meant for us that either, we were bored waiting for the kids to play Lego, or they were bored trudging around with us. The museum is an amazing opportunity for kids to learn about transportation and technology, it's just been missed here I feel. What if there was an interactive trucking simulator, or some other displays that hook the kids in to the amazing technology and history on display? Now that would be 5 star.

HUGE! Really hot on the day we were there, and we couldn't access a couple of the mezzanine floors because of the heat. Took us several hours to get through. Our kids most enjoyed the tactile things - the lego room, and the cars, trucks, and bus you could actually sit in. Those were the highlights. Well worth a visit, expensive for a family of four at $70, but definitely worth checking out. It is a very impressive collection.

A massive surprise, the place just keeps going and the vehicles get getting better and better.

Disappointed to see wedding gowns and children toy collection both not at all related to transport. But did enjoy vehicles and petrol ⛽ etc

This was an amazing place. A must see for anyone, rated up with the best museums around the world, and for me it lived up to that.

Came here as I had heard that it was somewhere cool to see and upon entering i was blown away with the massive collection that they have here and the way that they all look with the pristine paint from getting restored

A must do. Allow at least half day. This place is so full of memories, not just cars, trucks, tractors, it also has wearable art entries, personal family photos, somet for everyone to reminisce over.

Rally interesting place to see. Not only trucks and cars of all ages there is a part devoted to NZ Cricket and an amazing collection of wearable art. Would highly recommend.

Today we took our father for his 70th birthday..he worked as a diesel mechanic an found an old friends truck. Truck that he worked on and also the trucks that he had worked on over the years..could not pay for his history of a few on the machines. As recommended by another guest next time we will do the audio tour

This is an amazing museum with so many exhibits, not just of many cars and vehicles but also other vintage delights. Highly enjoyable for men, women and children. And, the bathrooms are an attraction of their own.

While not being a person who is interested in trucks or classic cars whatsoever, Bill Richardson's Transport World was an amazing and interesting visit. This massive building was a tour that several hours needs to be dedicated to. Filled with everything from VW Combi' to BMW motorcycles, famous race cars, American trucks and (almost) the entire alphabet of classic Ford cars. Well worth a visit if you're interested in anything mechanical.

Amazing place - never knew there were so many models of the original Fords. Girls loved their WOW expedition of creative clothing. Also a great cafe attached with really good food.

Went to to Bill’s Transport World yesterday with the intention of only staying a couple of hours but that ended up to be over 3 and I could have stayed longer. It is a fantastic museum of Bill’s and his family’s story. A special thank’s to Peter for all is knowledgeable help and information. I hope someday I will be able to return.

An amazing place to visit. A friend suggested we visit whilst touring around the South Island and we're glad we did. It is the best museum of its kind we have ever visited. A huge display, beautifully put together and very interesting. Even the toilets are amazing!! This family owned collection is a must see. We can't praise it enough.

Heard about this many times what an interesting place with some great history. He must've been a great man. Well worth a visit but wear something warm in winter, it's a bit of a fridge. Interesting to see Cadbury world is there.

Bill has left an amazing array of trucks, cars and every day items we recognize from our past. It is hard to pick a favourite but the red Texaco tanker wins in my eyes. Thanks Bill your collection is going strong and both exciting and educating the thousands of visitors to your museum.

Another Gem of a place with some beautifully presented cars, trucks and also tractors. Lots of old fuel browsers and tin signs spread throughout the place. I really loved that the majority of rooms had staircases upstairs with an open view of the whole room to get a bird's eye view of the displays. This is where most of the memorabilia is displayed along with a large amount of vintage truck grilles. A must do for car and truck enthusiasts with some rare beauties. Worthwhile if you love bikes to get the turbo pass to go and visit motorcycle mecca.

Great vehicle history experience

Really great experience, exhibits and well worth the entry price. Could have spent a lot longer there.

Great place and a lot of history . Allow a hour and a half to fully enjoy.can be cold further into building so come dressed warm . They do have blankets if needed.

If you are at all interested in classic trucks and cars then make your way to Bill Richardson's Transport Museum. This fabulous museum is huge, covering almost an entire city block and it is packed full of wonderful vehicles, engines, parts and services.

Just so good to see old treasures given a loving home. Everything is tidy and well maintained and you don't have to be a petrol head to enjoy the beauty of the machines.

Was wonderful, I like vintage and classic tractors and NZ memorabilia. Wish there was a little more merchandise...I know. Fantastic, well priced and friendly staff.

Far exceeded my expectations, it is huge, the collection is well curated and includes cars, trucks, tractors, racing cars and buses. We bought an annual pass because it will provide hours of entertainment every visit

The museum itself is fantastic. Lots of interesting things and I wish we had allowed more time. What put a damper on our visit was the cafe. They advertise they are open till 5. However when I went in just after 4.30 pm wanting 6 coffees I was (quite rudely) told 'no, we've shut off the coffee machine'. I had checked at reception and they said it would be fine. If you advertise your open till 5 you should be. If not, advertise 4.30.

Brilliant. Extreme effort has gone into presenting the vehicles in a most interesting layout and many of the trucks are works of art in their own right.

Transport World has to be the most comprehensive collection of vehicles ever assembled. As you walk into the main hall you immediately realise this is a very special place. The space, the layout, the lighting, the information boards and of course the spectacular vehicles all make this a memorable place to visit - don't think you can see it all in an hour though as it's huge!!

Fantastic...trucks of all kinds... vw's and old cars...good bye pork pie.. wearable art display...great cafe...even a cool cart for those that have trouble walking..it can be chilly in there but blankets are offered on the way in along with heated areas throughout... wonderful Lego room for the kids..

Very expensive. It would've cost 120 for my mother and I to go and see the whole museum, due to this we didn't go into the museum itself.

If you are interested in motorised transport it's definitely well worth visiting. Fine examples of cars, trucks, and agricultural vehicles. There's also a motorcycle museum in a different location.

Cauliflower soup is actually so, so good! It’d be my go-to everyday of the week. Decor is so well done and executed perfectly throughout so it’s a really fun place to be. Hot chocolates are a bit hit or miss ☕️ Overall, love this place.

The cafe is good - fun retro décor and good food, including some vegetarian choices and kids' meals. There's a Lego room with tons of Lego and Duplo that the kids enjoy playing in. It has tablets with Lego games they can use too. There's a jail and an old police truck with dress ups for kids to play in and a bus and a truck cab they can climb in - everything else is not allowed to be touched. I'm not very interested in cars so I didn't find the rest of the museum very interesting but no doubt it's great for enthusiasts and it was still cool to see all the very old cars from the early 1900s. There are also other things to look at if you're not keen on trucks, such as a wearable arts display and an ongoing screening of The World's Fastest Indian. If you're going with kids, take them to the toilets at the start, because it's a large venue that feels like a bit of a maze when you're trying to find the bathrooms in a hurry.

Wow! Stunning building and huge collection. Cafe food was delicious and great variety. Going back again as 1/2 day is nowhere near enough time! The mini and vw combi van displays where a unexpected bonus. Im a happy man!

This place is super-amazing. More trucks that you can imagine in a lifetime. Plus tractors. And cars. And motorbikes. And all manner of automotive wonder. The original car from the movie Goodbye Pork Pie is here. And if all those mechanical wonders get a bit much there is a vintage fabric and cloting section as well. It is well worth a visit to the restrooms as each one is themed and has a unique character.

Greatest car and truck museum i've ever seen. Huge collection. Every car has an own history told how Bill Richardson purchased it. It's a must see in Invercargill. 30 dollars per adult person.

Not a huge truck/car fan but this museum is fantastic with stuff to interest everybody. Interesting story boards, paraphernalia from yesteryear in a well lit relaxing environment. Very conducive to just wandering around and looking. Highly recommend!

Beautiful classic cars, nice and artistic interior design. Worth to visit. A nice cafe is inside the car museum. Very good set up.

Very nicely done. Big range of classic trucks and few modern ones. classic farm machinery. I tho it was awesome. Trucks and more trucks. And some classic cars not to forget. A theatre too and a classic street themed part too. Rember it being cold in there. There was some heaters around to kept you warm. And a upstairs areas with old motorparts and bits and pieces. And a dress display areas as well.

Wasnt sure about visiting Richardson Transport but was real pleased I did had friends with VW Kombis and just loved the ones on show. Really impresed with the variety of different displays. Visit to cafe is a must.

Top venue, amazing displays, incredible collections, funky details in the way of their toilets...see for yourself. It's better than any international museum of it's kind in the world. Well done Joc and Shona, daughter and wife of the late Bill Richardson. And the cafè along side of the entranceway is fitted out to blend with the museums themed transport but has it's own unique feel of a passed era. Brilliant and always nice food and service. We've been often and hold an annual entry season ticket.

Amazing place. So many old and forgotten vehicles and a good mix of some new and interesting things too. The food at the restaurant is also excellent. Highly recommend a visit

Fantastic place for the family we stopped in for Brunch with the family and then continued on into the transport museum with the children 5 year old and twin boys 8 they all had a great time looking at the vehicles the displays the LEGO room and so forth a lot of history for the adults enjoyed ourselves completely.

Beautifully restored vehicles, lots of info about their history. However a bit more info about the vehicles themselves would have been good. Was not intrested in where Bill got them from. The light was poor in some areas of the sheds.

What a place. Just amazing. We could have spent all day there. Can't believe how well presented everything was. Awesome area for kids to play also. Would definitely be one of the musts to do while in Invercargill.

Cool place to get lost in for a few hours. Highlight for me was the wicked cafe. Amazing staff, delicious food and great coffee. We will definitely make the trip back one day.

If you have any interest in vehicles or transport and machinery then this is a must stop at attraction. I'm not sure I've seen a bigger collection anywhere. It's very well presented and you'll easily spend more than an hour here.

This transport museum is a must & worth a trip to Invercargill in its own right. They have the biggest collection of every type of every vehicle possible wit the largest collection of Model T Ford's anywhere. It is possible to spend several hours there and still moss something. They also have a large collection on loan of the previous year's World of Wearable Arts creations, they too should not be missed. On a final note the 'restrooms' off the exhibition halls should also be seen to be believed, they are a work of art all of their own and certainly bring a smile of admiration or chuckle from the onlooker! It really is a great 'gift' to Invercargill.

Extremely good museum including the most complete collection of early (pre model T) Fords I have ever seen anywhere in the world. A very extensibe collection of both reatored and unrestored trucks. Also the cafe was a great dining experience.

Cafe has good food at standard pricing. The trucks are great to view. I needed more than one visit. The WOW fashion examples are very cool to see.

This has to be one of the best truck and early Ford collections in the world. Has a cafe attached and plenty of seating around the very large complex. Easy to find in Invercargill and the side streets seem to soak up parking. There is also the usual gift shop but perhaps the best souvenir is the thumb drive with the exclusive videos shown in the museum plus many 700? still images. It is $40(2019) and in the shape of the Flume petrol tanker. The exhibits cover trucking both the both the local Southland and the whole of NZ as well some very nice unique trucks from the US such as the iconic Flume Tanker and a set bought in Calgary Canada. They also have a large and unique well restored collection of fuel Bowser's and associated garage fore court. They also have vast collections of genuine signage. Other different items include early clothing and also the latest in alternative fashion as part of an awards night ran at the venue. A turbo pass allowing multiple admissions is the best value.

Had a conference in this place. Awesome bathrooms unlike anything ever seen before. I have food allergy and meals made especially for me. Fresh beautiful food. Recommend this establishment

There's a lot of old vehicles laid out over a large area with some interactive displays. Everything from model T Ford to trucks fire engines etc. There's even a piano to play. Great.

The best collection of Transport related items I have seen. Trucks trucks trucks and so much more. And the cafe is right up there to. The hot chocolate is seriously decadent.

Fantastic place but didn't have enough time, coming back to Invercargill for a week just to see, this Museum, the Motor Bike Museum and E.H. Hayes Collection as well, so much to see, cant believe the different brand of trucks I have never seen in Australia and the collection of old Fords although Francis Ransley in Wynyard Tasmania has 7 of the worlds rarest Fords as well. I would recommend this for all transport fans, it's a wonderful place.

Last week we visited our grandchildren in Gore to get rid of my husband for a few hours my daughter and I dropped him at Transport World.As an ex mechanic 45yrs truck and car he was overwhelmed. A credit to all those involved . Everybody should visit, an outstanding display! Next time ill be going as well

Went to a dinner function here. Fantastic venue and the food was superb.

World class attraction. Things I loved - the immaculate red/black Ford Thames V8 truck, my grandfather had one and I learned to drive in that and his tractor !!! Also great seeing the Leo Leonard PDL Mustang, and true New Zealand classic.

Wonderful world standard museum .Meal was overpriced by club. If in Invercargil a must visit with Motorcycle Mecca.

The transport museum is absolutely huge! It would take two days to go through the entire collection! You must visit this place. Bring a warm jacket as it is cold inside.

I love the transport world! The cafe is amazing, I suggest the hot chocolate!. The museum is great for people of all ages. Kids will love the lego room and the dress up area! i suggest bringing a camera, because you will take lots of photos. Fun fact... All the toilets have different 'Themes' The Bill Richardson Transport World on 491 tay street is one of Invercargill's best attractions. I recommend it on a rainy day! and in Invercargill you are sure to have a few of those!

Enjoyable visit, nice coffee and cake in the lovely cafe then a fascinating walk round a large collection of impressive vehicles. Well worth the money.

A great collection of mostly commercial trucks. Very well presented, very professional and sophisticated. Up with the very best of them. Well done the team that put it together.

Very good place to go and visit was there 10 years ago, but today. It is 4 times better absolutely marvellous.

Great real man's cave! But even woman can appreciate it. but remember to wear very warm clothes as very cold in building! Cafe very good also

What a great place lots to see and really nice learning about the family.

Been several times keep going back as there is always more to see. Tex is my favourite truck. An experience to be savored

Up front it seems expensive, however you can spend hours here. There is something for everyone. There is also a busy cafe within, so you can take a break and go back to look for more.

Wow this place is amazing, in beatable truck collection, and associated transport collections. The most amazing Texico streamliner tanker truck. The Caffe is well worth visiting as well
