Always a great experience. The volunteers are knowledgeable and very kind. Lots of different engines to see so worth multiple visits! Credit card and eftpos available, some drinks, icecreams, and a few chippies/chocolate bars for sale, but recommend you take a picnic if you want anything more substantial. Don't wear your favourite white top 😂

Fantastic place for the kids. We have a two year old train enthusiast who even asked the driver if he could drive the train. The history is fascinating. Never knew how dangerous the Hutt railway was. Staff are all volunteers and are all very helpful and knowledgeable.
Definitely bring a jacket as even in a slight breeze it can be cold. It is a bit pricey, but it certainly a good couple of hours of entertainment.

Fun rides for the kids - kids loved the stream train. 2-3 picnic tables available for a quick bite while you wait for your ride.

Great place for a family outing - enthusiasts welcomed as well.
Friendly and helpful staff who are dedicated to railway preservation.

Such a awsesome place. Rode the little train about 6 times.....just couldnt get enough. Kids loved it. Even left to go cut their hair and came back again for a few more rides. Thanks again definitely coming back

Great working steam day. Amazing volunteer team of all ages. Really takes you back to the days of steam-powered railway, smoke, the noises, clouds of steam and smuts in your eyes! Great value.

We love it here! Especially when the shed is open. Beautiful trains and the ride is the perfect length of time for young kids.

My 2 year old loved it but still thought $42 for family pass was a bit pricey

A fun way to spend a few hours. The trip on the old train was very realistic. It was nicely restored and the conductor just added to the adventure.

Interesting railway experience. Rather overwhelmed by boisterous children and some rude parents. Silver Stream volunteers polite, friendly and knowledgeable.

Amazing little railway, loved the steam trains. Worth a visit! It's all run by volunteers what is fantastic.

Good little working steam railway and museum. The 127 year old engine still puffs up and down a short stretch of track every other Sunday. Manned by volunteers.

A great place to take the kids. Ride the trains all day for the price of admission.

(Translated) Buy a ticket and sit for a whole day, suitable for trains, but the steam is super-squeaky, just as refreshing as a pure cockroach.

买一张票可以坐一整天,适合火车爱好着,但是蒸汽超级呛,跟吸纯正的霾一样爽口。
