D.Our previous accommodation was cancelled on Friday afternoon due to a staff member being a close contact of a covid positive case in Morrinsville. We had to find accommodation quickly as we were travelling that day to attend a wedding. Enter Maple Lodge Motel managed by Fiona who was awesome. It is nice to meet a manager who actually comes out to chat and see how things are going. We called Fiona to advise we would be late and she was more than happy to wait for our arrival.
The room may be a bit dated but was neat and tidy and the bed was very comfy. We stayed two nights and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Would recommend to future guests.
M.Great yesteryear motel with a very friendly host. Not a four star place but makes up with location, cleanliness & comfy bed. Would stay again

T.I cannot fault anything about Maple Lodge. Fantastic staff who were super accommodating, even with our late check in. Lovely, clean room and super comfy bed. Nice and quiet. Heaps of parking room right outside our unit. Thanks Peter and Ra, we'll definitely be staying again on our travels.
D.Lovely warm greeting on arrival from proprietor Ra. Ra remembered my name when I was checking out and recalled why I was visiting Matamata. Awesome manner. Without our requesting it, Ra offered to place us in a quiet unit. The unit was spotlessly clean and had excellent kitchen facilities. An older style motel, slightly dated (which didn't present us with any problems) which represents great value for money.
J.Stayed 2 nights in a Studio unit, everything 'tickety-boo', comfortable and well serviced. Proprietor decided to turn on the heater to warm the unit prior to our arrival,- nice. Would stay there again without hesitation.
K.My room was immaculate, it was so cozy & warm after returning from a cold evening out. Definitely feels like home away from home. Thank you so much Rawinia for making this stay enjoyable :)
T.Sweet motel out of the 1950's. Internet and clean simple rooms with cooking area. Nice walk to town (a small town). Matamata is the gateway to Hobbiton tours. If you buy the dinner in the Green Dragon, they will drive you to your Matamata motel.
N.I agree on most of what everyone says here but ESPECIALLY how rude Denise is.
Clive is quite a sweatheart and did me a personal favor.
Denise should not be in the hospitality business.
Otherwise. Quaint. Quiet. Comfortable. Clean. Had a great night sleep.

p.Arrived here this evening A1 service arrived after hours but had notified them basically had instant return email with check-in information room key wifi milk etc and tried contacting me on day of booking and let voicemail with instructions as well but also rang before they left for the day to make sure I knew pete was very friendly we arrived earlier than 1st thought but everything was as pete said nice spaceish room clean and tidy and great value for money I can not fault them anywhere I'll will definitely be a return customer

C.Good deals just keep your windows and doors locked. I had items stolen and the surveillance cameras were skipping large parts of their footage.
