Bev the tour guide was lovely and it was really interesting to see the house and to hear all about the history of it. Apparently you are allowed to even have picnics in their lovely rose garden. Definitely worth a visit.

Broadgreen is a gem. 19th Century colonial living lovingly brought to life with clever dressing. Make time to read the stories and look at the photographs. Covid restrictions mean you can't be guided but be your own guide.
B.
This is a historic home and is beautiful inside, really brings back history of the area
M.
A trip back into history! 😀 The volunteer guide was super friendly and told us many background stories. The displays in the rooms make the history of this unique heritage house come alive.

Lovely peaceful time spent amongst beautiful display.

Beautiful gardens around a lovely old house. Spent an hour wandering around the lovely rose garden which had plenty in bloom. The dogs were allowed in the garden on lead which is brilliant. We didn't go into the house as we were there in the early morning before it opened.
A.
Beautifully looked after and great tour guides
H.
Lovely little bit of history in the heart of Stoke. The house is free for Nelson residents and is a great look around. The Rose gardens are fabulous and the kids love to ride their bikes around. The grounds are also good for a summer picnic or some fish and chips from the shop just down the road 🙂
M.
Didn't go inside the house but had a lovely walk around the gardens. Lots of heritage trees from 1890 and beautiful rose gardens
r.
Rooms well set out with furniture and models, plus I had a guide😀 Entrance could be better signposted though. Such a dramatic difference to Isel House- which is a bare shell and the lack of furniture or other homestead items a disgrace in regard to Nelson City Council!!
K.
Very informative lady showed us through the house , the kids had fun dressing up in the olden days clothing. Highly recommended place to view.

Broadgreen House and Rose Garden. Historic Home of the Buxtons who also had a holiday home of very similar design at Ruby Bay to which they used to sail to across Tasman Bay. The house has an amazing array of early homestead kitchen appliances and furniture along with linen and clothing beautifully displayed with very helpful volunteers on hand to share the history.
