Lovely little replica lighthouse housing the original Cape Egmont lighthouse light/lighting system. Open Sat - Sun 11am - 3pm by friendly volunteers. You can go inside for a small donation to help with maintenance

A rustic place and worth only to say "I have been thre". We knew it was not a main attraction. But wanted to see the mountain from that side also and was treated to a beautiful view and clear sky

Unfortunately it was a bit dull and windy the day we visited. You can park up and camp here for $10 per vehicle per night. There is a toilet block too. The boat club is open on Friday's from 5pm for a drink. There is a small museum at the lighthouse with limited opening hours and days - not open when we visited.

A beautiful but small museum detailing the history of Ernest Rutherford and the lighthouses of the area. It is a wonderful place to visit for anyone in Taranaki, run by very friendly people. The authentic historical and cultural value of the place leaves a wonderful feeling. Stunning views from the top as well. Remember to count the steps.
