Reviews of Taranaki Aviation Transport & Technology Museum Inc
This is a great place to visit. Sheds are full with memorabilia from the early to mid 20 th century. It’s such an interesting place and run totally by volunteers
We were able to park our caravan here over the Christmas period at a very reasonable price . It’s. Great place and not far from the centre of town
Looks like a bunch of old sheds, but it's a treasure trove of all sorts of amazing stuff. Kids spent hours looking through and playing with everything. The staff were so knowledgeable and taught us lots about printing presses, even ran a few demos on them. Highly recommend a visit.
I was a bit skeptical when we drove in. However, there is lots to see. Well laid out. Not bad entrance fee, $7 per adult.
We almost didn't go in because it look so un attractive from outside. We are quite suprised to find a very good collection of the past. Some of them still work. Too bad it was not look after well, probably because it doesn't generate enough money n the kind volunteers were doing it. I recon the Taranaki govt should support this place with their rate pay n make it a destinations for people to go. Really enjoy the whole experience otherwise.
Such a great place and so much to see ans do, most of it is interactive e.g. you can have a go or play with the stuff there, id fully recommend it to anyone passing through.
Never stopped here before but I wanted to for a while so I made an outing of it. I was not disappointed, there were so many things to look at and some really old technology, there was also a prop plane that was used way back for training pilots which was my favorite. It was also only $7.00 per adult and the volunteers were really friendly 🙂 spent over an hour just wandering around and looking at everything.
I’m not sure this is advertised as well as it should be, we were totally unprepared for how cool it was. There’s so much to see and the print shop team were so enthusiastic about the machines in there and so keen to show us things. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and saw a lot of really cool things and have been raving about it for the rest of the day
Not sure what we could expect but we loved it. So many different items to look at. Lovely chat with the guy that walked around and told us about heaps of stuff! Really worth a visit!
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Lots of cool and fun interactive items to see. 5/5
Absolutely fantastic experience for us and our children. Highly recommended. Took our family of 7 around 2 hours
We had a blast! $16 for 2 adults and 2 kids is too cheap!!!
So much to see and do - Most of the exhibitions are not walled off and you can interact.
The highlights were the telephone exchange, the messenger wire pulley system and the Brewster hexagon items
A gem of a museum. Hugely underfunded and run by elderly volunteers. Have some great exhibits.
So much stuff, very well pitched at kids and self-exploration
