A beautiful place to take the family for a picnic and have a look at some history. At the crossroads of the waipu and Waikato rivers watch the boats pass and locals fish. What a beautiful town.

A great communal area to relax, enjoy the Iconic history of Ngaruawahia beginnings, placards placed at significant spots. Choose to walk the King's trail, Waipa river trail or follow Te Awa trail along Waikato river to Horotiu, all built for biking too, just share with care. Beautiful even on an raining day💗 these pictures are of a small portion of both river walks/bike rides.

This is the best place to park your vehicle if you are also thinking of starting your bike ride - Te Awa River Ride. Underneath the railway bridge the concreted bike trail starts going all the way to Hamilton and other places.The view of the Waikato River is serene especially on a warm sunny day.

A quiet, scenic spot with history. Junction of the Waikato and Waipa rivers, Often a camper van or two overnighting there. Toilets and children's play area. Well maintained and clean.

Nice playground and bathroom facilities plus a free bbq that's available to anyone for use. Nice place to stop and stretch the legs. Lovely view of the meeting of the rivers

This picture is but 1 aspect to "The Point". This 'area' is 'rich in history' - both Native NZers & Pakeha people. I cannot say too much more except that the 'area' is a poignant place. if ever you are visiting Ngaruawahia, visit "The Point" bring your bikes, scooters for the kids, even roller blades ETC. You will enjoy it 💖
